SHS 12.0 B2 Introduction We congratulate you on the purchase of your new device. You have chosen a high quality product. The instructions for use are part of the product. They contain important information concerning safety, use and disposal. Before using the product, please familiarise yourself with all of the safety information and instructions for use. Only use the unit as described and for the specified applications. If you pass the product on to anyone else, please ensure that you also pass on all the documentation with it. Proper use The hand-held vacuum cleaner is intended for the vacuum cleaning of dry surfaces or for sucking up dry materials. This device is not to be used on people or animals. Other uses or modifications of the device shall be considered as improper use and may lead to dangers such as the risk of loss of life through injury or accident, as well as damage to property. The manufacturer will not accept liability for loss or damage arising from improper use. The product is not intended for commercial use. 9 ■ Safety Safety advice This safety advice is an important part of these operating instructions and must be observed every time electrical devices are used. The advice and instructions will help you to avoid risk to life, accidents and damage to property. Therefore you must read carefully through the following information concerning safety and proper use.
CHILDREN! Never leave children unsupervised with the packaging materials or the device. There is a risk of suffocation and loss of life from electric shock. Children often underestimate the dangers associated with electrical devices. Always keep children away from the device. ■ This appliance may be used by children age 8 years and up, as well as by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capacities, or lacking experience and/or knowledge, so long as they are supervised or instructed in the safe use of the appliance and understand the associated risks. Children should not be allowed to play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance should not be performed by children without supervision. ■ Keep the device away from rain or moisture. Water entering an electrical device increases the risk of electric shock. ■ Do not use the lead for any purpose for which it was not intended, e.g. to carry the device or to pull the plug out of the 12 V socket. Keep the lead away from heat, oil, sharp edges or mov- ing parts of the device. Damaged or tangled leads or plugs increase the risk of electric shock. ■ Damage to the device, mains lead or plug presents a risk of loss of life from electric shock. Frequently check the condition of the device, mains lead and plug. ■ Do not use a device with damaged parts. If a dangerous situation arises pull out the plug from the socket immediately. WARNING! ► Never open up the device. Always have any repairs carried out or replacement parts fitted at the service centre or by an electrical equipment repair specialist. ■ When not in use always ensure that electrical devices are kept out of reach of children. Do not let anyone use the device if he or she is not familiar with it or has not read the instructions and advice. Electrical devices are dangerous when they are used by inexperienced people. Operation Before first use ♦ Take all the parts carefully out of the packaging and remove all the packaging material. Dispose of all the packaging material in an environmen- tally friendly manner. ♦ Fully unwind the lead attached to the 12 V plug

installed before you use the device. Fitting and removing attachments Extension hose : ♦ Insert the smaller end of the extension hose snugly into the front nozzle . ♦ Insert the desired attachment , snugly into the extension hose . Small brush
This accessory has hard bristles and is very suitable for initially loosening and then vacuuming up stub- born dirt, e.g. from the upholstery or footwell. ♦ Insert the small brush snugly into the front nozzle .SHS 12.0 B2 ■ 10
Use this attachment to get into narrow, diffi- cult-to-access places. ♦ Insert the crevice tool snugly into the front nozzle
Removing attachments: ♦ Simply pull the attachment off the front nozzle or the extension hose . Switching On / Off ♦ Insert the 12 V plug into the 12 V socket / cigarette lighter socket of the vehicle. ♦ To switch the device on, press the ON / OFF switch forwards into the I position. ♦ To switch the device off, press the ON / OFF switch back into the 0 position. ♦ Pull the 12 V plug out of the 12 V socket after use. NOTE ► If you going to vacuum for a long period, we recommend that you carry out the cleaning with the engine running. Servicing and cleaning The device requires no maintenance. CAUTION
Before you clean the device itself, pull the 12 V plug out of the 12 V socket, other- wise there Is a risk of electric shock ♦ Clean all the housing with a soft, dry cloth. Never use liquids or cleaning agents, as they may damage the device. ♦ For the best possible performance, you should empty the dust container immediately after use and when the suction power drops. ♦ Press the unlocking button and take the dust container out of the housing . ♦ Take out the dust filter . You will be able to clean the dust filter better if you detach it from the end seal. To do this, hold the end seal firmly and twist the filter off carefully anticlockwise (bayonet fitting). Rinse out the dust filter thoroughly in cold water and allow both parts (filter and end seal) to dry completely. Attach the filter back on to the end seal. ♦ Empty the dust container completely. ♦ Carefully replace the dust filter back into the dust container . Never use the vacuum cleaner without the dust filter in place. ♦ Attach the dust container carefully back on to the housing and ensure the two parts engage. CAUTION ► The front nozzle must be free and unob- structed at all times. Blockages can lead to overheating and damage to the motor.SHS 12.0 B2
11 ■ Disposal The packaging is composed of environ- mentally-friendly materials that can be disposed of at a local recycling centre. Do not dispose of electrical devices with the household rubbish! In accordance with European Directive 2012 / 19 / EU, worn out electrical devices must be collected separately and taken for environmen- tally compatible recycling.
