• Disposal General Notes Read the operating instructions carefully before putting the appliance into operation and keep the instructions including the warranty, the receipt and, if possible, the box with the internal packing. If you give this appliance to other people, please also pass on the operating instructions. p. 27

• The appliance is designed exclusively for private use and for the envisaged purpose. This appliance is not t for commercial use.

• Do not use it outdoors. Keep it away from sources of heat, direct sunlight, humidity (never dip it into any liquid) and sharp edges. Do not use the appliance with wet hands. If the appliance is humid or wet, unplug it immediately.

• When cleaning or putting it away, switch off the appliance and always pull out the plug from the socket (pull the plug itself, not the lead) if the appliance is not being used and remove the attached accessories.

• Do not operate the appliance without supervision. If you leave the room you should always turn the appliance off. Remove the plug from the socket.

• The appliance and the mains lead have to be checked regularly for signs of damage. If damage is found the appliance must not be used.

• Use only original spare parts.

• In order to ensure your children’s safety, please keep all packaging (plastic bags, boxes, polystyrene etc.) out of their reach.

Do not allow small children to play with the foil. There is a danger of suffocation! • If the appliance is used in the bathroom, disconnect it from the mains after use as nearby water presents a hazard. This also ap- plies if the appliance is switched off.

• As additional protection we recommend the installation of a fault current protection appliance (FI / RCD) with a rated current of not more than 30 mA in the wiring system of the bathroom. Please contact an authorised electrician for advice.

• The nozzle gets hot during operation! Risk of burns!

• Please ensure that the inlet grille remains free of uff and hairs. Danger of re!

• Do not repair the appliance by yourself. Always contact an author- ized technician. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualied persons in order to avoid a hazard.

• This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capa- bilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.

• Children must not play with the appliance.

• Cleaning and user maintenance must not be carried out by children, unless they are supervised.

• This appliance is not intended to be immersed in water during cleaning. Please observe the instructions that we have included for you in the chapter “Cleaning”.26 PC-HTD3047_IM 26.06.19 Notes on Use

• If you wish to dry specic sections of your hair only, attach the styling nozzle. That will concentrate the air ow.

• The diffuser is the ideal solution to dry curly hair without losing volume.

• In order to replace the attachment, rst remove the old attachment by pulling it off and then pushing on the new one until it clicks into place. Electrical Connection

1. Before inserting the plug into the socket, make sure that

the mains voltage to be used matches that of the appli- ance. You can nd this information on the nameplate.

2. Connect the appliance to a properly installed earthed

1. Select an air stream level on the handle ( switch):

Position 0: off Position 1: gentle stream of air Position 2: strong stream of air

2. Setting the Temperature level (

switch): Position 1: low temperature Position 2: medium temperature for gentle drying and shaping Position 3: high temperature for rapid drying COOL (Cold Air) With this switch you can stop the heating process. Hold the button down in this position according to the desired interval length. When the button is released it returned auto- matically to the initial position. Ionizing Function – Reduction of Static in Hair The appliance is also tted with an ionizer which gives off negative ions with the air ow when switching on. This pro- cess supports safe, gentle drying of hair and also promotes a better hair structure, maximizes hair volume, provides for a silky nish and also reduces static in the hair. This process is particularly gentle on stressed hair. Turn the hairdryer on by moving the „ “ switch to the I posi- tion. The control lamp lights up in green. To turn the appliance off, move the switch to „0“. Switch-off After use, move the right-hand switch ( ) to the „0“ position and remove the mains plug from the socket. Storage

• Leave the appliance to cool down before putting it away!

• Hang the appliance up by the suspension eye. Mains Cable

• The mains cable should only be wound up loosely.

• Never tie the cable tightly round the appliance, as over time this may result in the cable breaking.

• Check the mains cable regularly for damage. Cleaning

• Before cleaning remove the mains lead from the socked.

• Under no circumstances should you immerse the appliance in wa- ter for cleaning purposes. Otherwise this might result in an electric shock or re. CAUTION:

• Do not use a wire brush or any abrasive items.

• Do not use any acidic or abrasive detergents. Clean the housing with a soft, dry cloth without additives. Air Intake Grill Please clean the grill on the air intake side of the hairdryer regularly in order to avoid excessive temperatures as a result of heat accumulation.

1. Unscrew the grille in an anticlockwise direction.

2. Remove any dirt that is present.

3. If necessary, a ne brush can be used.

4. Turn the grille tight in a clockwise direction.
