Frequently Asked Questions - T6 EZVIZ

How to add the T6 detector to the alarm hub?

You can add the T6 in two ways: Option 1 (recommended): remove the base, scan the QR code on the back of the T6 via the EZVIZ app, then follow the instructions. Option 2: activate the Add detectors mode on the hub, place the T6 within 50 cm, then press the button on the T6. The blue indicator will flash twice to confirm.

How to install the detector on a door or window?

Stick the foam adhesive pad onto the T6 base. For metal surfaces, use the 3 mm thick pad; for other surfaces, you can use the 1 mm or 3 mm pad. Stick the base to the desired location on the door or window, then slide the T6 onto the base.

How to record the closed state of the detector?

Keep the door or window closed, then press the button on the T6 for 2 seconds. The indicator will flash red for 15 seconds to indicate that the closed state is recorded. Repeat this step after each recharge or change of installation position.

What to do if the battery is depleted?

You will receive a warning on your EZVIZ account. Slide the T6 off the base, connect the power cable to charge it (the indicator turns red). Once charged (indicator blue), put it back and re-record the closed state.

What is the battery life and how to maximize it?

The battery life can reach 3 months. To maximize lifespan, avoid extreme temperatures and fully recharge the battery before it is completely depleted.

Does the T6 detector work without a hub?

No, the T6 requires an Internet alarm hub (model A1 or similar, sold separately) to connect to your network and send alerts via the EZVIZ app.

How to know if an intrusion is detected?

When the door or window is opened, the T6 indicator flashes red and an alert is sent to your EZVIZ account. When it is closed, the indicator flashes blue.

Is the detector weather-resistant?

The T6 is designed for indoor use. Its operating temperature range is -10°C to 55°C, but it is not waterproof. Avoid installing it in areas exposed to excessive moisture or rain.

What to do if the detector does not turn on or does not respond?

Check that the battery is charged. If the problem persists, reset the T6 by holding the button for 10 seconds. If nothing works, contact EZVIZ support at [e-mail].

Can I use multiple T6 detectors with a single hub?

Yes, a hub can support multiple detectors. Add each T6 via the app following the same addition procedure.

Operations

Step 1

Charging

Make sure to charge the Open/Close Detector before you begin using it for the first time. Connect the sensor to the power socket with the power cable. The status indicator displays red while it is charging and turns blue when charging is complete.

A fully-charged battery can last for up to 3 months. Recharge when the battery runs low.

Step 2

Adding to the Home Sense Alarm Hub

The EZVIZ Home sense alarm hub should be purchased separately.

Option 1 (Recommended) Add Using the EZVIZ App

1 Remove the Base

Detach the base from the detector by sliding it as directed by the arrow. You can see the device QR code code located on the back of the sensor.

2 Adding detector to the Home Sense Alarm Hub

- Download and install the EZVIZ app by searching the "EZVIZ" in App Store (iOS version) and Google Play™ (Android version).

- Start the app and register for an EZVIZ user account following the start-up wizard.

- Log in the EZVIZ app and scan the device QR code to add it to the Alarm Hub.

• Option 2 Add Using the Home Sense Alarm Hub

- Enable the "Adding Detectors Mode" of your Home Sense Alarm Hub by quickly pressing its Setting button.

- The Blue indicator flickers twice indicating the adding signal has been sent.

Home Sense Alarm Hub Within 50cm Indicator

- The Home Sense Alarm Hub will announce the type and serial number of the detector being added.

Step 3 Installing Detector

1 Using the Foam Sticker

Attach the foam sticker to the base of the detector.

For metal door or window installation, use the 3 mm thick foam sticker.

2 Installing the Open/Close Detector

- Install the base close to the edge of the door or window's swinging side as illustrated in the figures below.

Door

- Mount the detector to its base to complete the installation.

3 Recording Closed Status

Keep the door or window closed and then press and hold the button on detector for 2 seconds to record the closed status. The indicator flickers red for 15 seconds indicating the status is recorded.

The Closed Status will need to be recorded again if the sensor is removed from its current location.

4 Test the Open/Close Detector

The indicator blinks red when the door or window is opened and will send an alarm message to the linked EZVIZ account. The indicator blinks blue when the door or window is closed.

Maintenance

When the battery runs out, a low battery alert will be sent to the EZVIZ account to notify you to recharge. Remove the detector from its base to recharge it. Reinstall it after it has been recharged.

Your EZVIZ product is warranted for a period of two (2) years from the date of purchase against defects in materials and workmanship, or such longer period as may be required by law in the country or state where this product is sold, when used normally in accordance with user manual.

For any defective EZVIZ products under warranty, HANGZHOU HIKVISION DIGITAL TECHNOLOGY CO., LTD. ("the Company") will, at its option, (i) repair or replace your product free of charge; (ii) exchange your product with a functional equivalent product; (iii) or refund the original purchase price, provided you provide the original purchase receipt or copy, brief explanation of the defect, and return the product in its original packaging. At the sole discretion of the Company, repair or replacement may be made with a new or refurbished product or components. This warranty does not cover the postal cost, insurance and any other incidental charges incurred by you in returning the product.

Except where prohibited by applicable law, this is your sole and exclusive remedy for breach of this limited warranty. Any product that has either been repaired or replaced under this limited warranty will be covered by the terms of this limited warranty for the longer of ninety (90) days from the date of delivery or the remaining original warranty period.

This warranty does not apply and is void:

• If the warranty claim is made outside the warranty period or if the proof of purchase is not provided.
