RESTRICTIONS ON USE / EXCLUSIONS
The EVOC backpack with integrated back protector has been designed and certified exclusively for the sports described in the section Purpose / Application. This also excludes activities and events within the extreme range of these sports. This bag is not suitable for sports other than those mentioned, particularly not for use in motor sports or on motorized vehicles such as motorcycles, snowmobiles, ATVs or similar.
Protection can not be guaranteed against all types of injuries. These include twisting, hyper extension, or compression, as well as compression fractures of the spine.
IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS
The EVOC backpack with integrated back protector will reduce the potential risk of serious impact injuries only when the back protector is firmly seated in the compartment provided. Ensure that the back protector is seated in the designated compartment and has been fixed by the fastening straps. So as not to impair its protective effect, no changes may be made to the backpack.
CORRECT INSERTION OF THE PROTECTOR
With the flat, unprinted side towards the back, insert the protector until it it locks in place. The protector has been inserted correctly if the print on the protector can still be read.

SAFETYINSTRUCTIONS
- Make sure that the backpack is not positioned too high or too low on the back. Pull tight the shoulder straps, chest strap, and waist strap.
- Before each use, make sure that all straps, clasps and buckles have been firmly closed.
- Be aware that carrying pointed and/or sharp objects such as knives, screwdrivers, crampons, tools, bottles and other hard objects in the backpack may impair the backpack's protective function.
- Do not carry any glass bottles and potentially explosive items such as gas cartridges, pressurized containers, etc., or combustible and corrosive liquids in the backpack.
- Make sure that all objects that could damage the protector are not transported loosely in the backpack. Appropriately secure any pointed and/or sharp objects (tool kit, protective case for crampons, knife sheath, etc.) and pack them facing away from the body.
- When using ski-lifts and similar, either take off the backpack, or make sure that the backpack does not get caught when you exit the lift.
- When mounting a snowboard, skis, and/or climbing equipment such as snow shoes or short skis to the backpack, be aware of the resulting bulkier proportions and the much higher center of gravity, which may cause snagging or loss of balance.
Note that an overloaded backpack may have a detrimental effect on the execution of the sport.

CHECK BEFORE EACH USE
Before each use, check the functionality of the backpack and the protector. Please refer to the following procedure.
- Inspect the protector for mechanical damage, make sure that it is seated in its intended compartment, and that it has been secured with the fastening straps.
- Check how the backpack has been packed. Place heavy items on the bottom. Pointed or sharp objects should have additional packing and should be placed facing away from the body.
- Check to make sure that the contents have been properly secured and will not slip.
- Make sure that all zippers and buckles on the backpack have been closed and are fully functional.
- Check all the main seams and make sure they are in a fault-free condition.
- In particular, check the tensile strength of the shoulder and hip strap seams.
- Check all the straps for tears and other structural damage.
PROPER FIT | BACKPACK ADJUSTMENT
In accordance with DIN EN 1621-2, the back protector provides protection only to the areas it covers. This protection is only guaranteed when the EVOC backpack with integrated back protector is in worn the optimal and intended position.

With the shoulder, chest and hip straps loosened, put on the backpack. Place the flexible hip strap snugly against the hip bones and close the Velcro fastener. Now close the hip strap buckle and firmly tighten the hip strap.

Then pull on the shoulder straps, making sure to tighten the backpack just firmly enough to place the padded back rest vertically and horizontally centered against the back. This should not cause the hip strap to rise up from the hip.

Adjust the height-adjustable chest strap so that it is located above the chest. Close the chest strap buckle and tighten the strap to place the backpack against the back as closely and tightly as possible.
CHECK AFTER EVERY FALL OR SHOCK
After every fall or shock, inspect the functionality of the backpack and the protector. In particular, look for any mechanical damage of the protector, the straps, the seams and the buckles. If you have any doubts, please discontinue use of the backpack and immediately contact EVOC Sports GmbH. The protector can be replaced after a fall, and is available for purchase as an individual spare part.
