EXPLANATIONS OF SYMBOLS

Legislation requires that all electrical and electronic equipment must be collected for reuse and recycling. Electrical and electronic equipment marked with the symbol indicating separate collection of such equipment must be returned to a municipal waste collection point.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

• Please read the instructions carefully and completely before operating this appliance and retain for future use.
• Remove all packaging before the appliance is used.
  • The appliance may only be connected to the mains voltage mentioned on the type plate.
• While using the lamp on the face, always keep the eyes closed in order to avoid injury to the eyes (do not look directly at the infrared light).
• Do not use it on persons sensitive to heat.

The sensitivity to heat can be reduced or increased in the following cases:

• diabetic patients
• persons with sleepiness, dementia or difficulties concentrating
• persons with illness-related skin changes or persons with scarred skin areas in the application area
• persons with allergies

- children and older persons

- after consuming medications or alcohol

• Always limit the period of use and check the reaction of the skin.

- Medications, cosmetics or food can lead to a over-sensitive or allergic reaction of the skin under certain conditions. Radiation must be ended immediately in this case.

- If the appliance is operated continuously, caution and attention are advisable - never fall asleep during radiation!

- Prolonged use can cause burns to the skin.

- Do not touch the infrared lamp or unscrew it when it is connected to the mains.

- Children do not understand the risks associated with electrical appliances. Make sure the appliance is not used by children without appropriate supervision.

• The appliance may be used only under supervision.

- Do not cover or pack the appliance when it is hot.

• Always pull out the plug from the socket and let the appliance cool before you touch it.

- Inflammable objects must be kept at a distance of at least 1.0m from the infrared lamp. Do not hang the appliance on the wall or from the ceiling.

- Do not touch the appliance with wet hands when it is connected to the mains; water should not be sprayed on the appliance. Operate it only when it is completely dry.

- Protect the appliance against blows and impact.

- Do not remove the plug from the socket by pulling the cable.

- In case the cable or the casing is damaged, please contact your supplier or the Inventum customer service, as special tools are required for repairing it.

- Lighting is excluded from the warranty.

- If you decide never to use the appliance again, we advise you to dispose of it in special containers or at a municipal waste collection point.

• Always turn off the appliance when not in use and when cleaning.

- Never immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid to protect against electrical hazards.

- If the appliance is used for other purposes than intended, or is it not handled in accordance with the instruction manual, the full responsibility for any consequences will rest with the user. Any damages to the product or other things are not covered by the warranty.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

Application

This infrared lamp is only intended for radiating the human body.

Infrared radiation causes warmth to be transported to the human body. The blood supply in the radiated skin is increased and the metabolic turnover in the field of temperature is enhanced. The mode of action of infrared light encourages the body to heal; healing processes are thus assisted in a specific area. Infrared light can be used as a parallel treatment in diseases of the ear, nose and throat and to assist in facial and beauty care, especially in case of impure skin.

However, first ask your family doctor whether application in the individual case is advisable from a medical standpoint.

Before use

Before you use the appliance for the first time, please do as follows: Carefully unpack the appliance and remove all the packaging material. Keep the material (plastic bags and cardboard) out of reach of children. Before use, check whether the infrared lamp is properly screwed in. Always ensure that the appliance is on a secure and even surface. The distance between the infrared lamp and the radiated part of the body should not be less than 60 cm (24 inch). Always close your eyes during the radiation! The recommended duration of treatment is maximum 12 minutes.

We recommend selecting a shorter radiation period to start with. However, the skin of some people may show an over-sensitive (e.g. with extreme redness, blistering, itching, heavy sweating) or allergic reaction appear and consult a physician.

The appliance has an adjustable lampshade. The 5 positions of inclination make it possible for you to adjust the infrared lamp according to your needs.

CLEANING & MAINTENANCE

Cleaning/ changing the infrared lamp

Before every cleaning and when exchanging the infrared lamp, the appliance must be switched off, disconnected from the mains and must be cool. The appliance can be cleaned with a damp cloth. Do not use any cleaning agents containing solvents on the appliance.

Ensure that no water penetrates the appliance. Use the appliance again only when it is completely dry. Please note that only infrared lamps of the original type, R95E (100W), may be used as replacements.

GARANTIE EN SERVICE

• This product is guaranteed for a period of 2 years from the date of purchase against mechanical and electrical defect.

• Guarantee can only be given if proof of purchase (e.g. till receipt) can be shown. Therefore keep it in a safe place. The guarantee period starts at date of purchase.
  • Guarantee is not valid in case of:

• normal wear;

• damage through misuse use or when the instructions were not followed correctly;
• lack of maintenance;
• not following the operation- and safety instructions;
• incompetent montage or repairs made by yourself or others;
• using accessories and spare parts which are not suitable for the appliance;

for assessment by our technical department.

• The guarantee is not valid for:

- (exchangeable) lamps;

for assessment by our technical department.

• Pack it carefully (preferably in the original carton). Ensure unit is clean.
• Enclose your name and address and quote model number IL11 on all correspondence.

When the guarantee is no longer valid or when the period of guarantee has passed, we will charge any costs that flow out of an assessment and/or repairing.

On request we will supply a statement before repairing. Without requesting a statement, we assume that you, by sending the appliance, automatically order to repair the appliance.

A guarantee period of two months is valid for repairs done by our technical department and the used spare parts, counting from the repairdate. When a malfunction occurs within this period which directly flows out of the repairs and the used spare parts, the consumer has the right of repairs without any costs.

We reserve the right to change this product, packaging and documentation without notice.
