Frequently Asked Questions - 2G350A2H PHILIPS

How to install the Philips 2G350A2H USB hub?
Installation is done in two steps: first, insert the USB module into the monitor's USB bay and secure it with the provided screws (hand-tighten). Then, connect the USB cable: the flat end into the upstream port of the module, the other end into a USB port on the computer. Insert the driver floppy disk and follow the Windows setup instructions.
Is the hub compatible with all operating systems?
The hub is designed for PCs with Windows supporting USB (OSR2.1 or higher). It also works with other operating systems supporting USB 1.1, but the provided driver is for Windows.
How many ports does the hub have?
The Philips 2G350A2H hub has 4 downstream ports for connecting peripherals and 1 upstream port for connecting to the computer.
What is the maximum data rate of the hub?
The hub supports a data rate of up to 12 Mbit/s, which corresponds to USB 1.1 standard. It is suitable for both slow and fast peripherals.
Does the hub require an external power supply?
No, the hub is self-powered via the USB cable. It draws power directly from the computer's USB port.
What should I do if Windows does not recognize the hub?
First, check that the driver from the floppy disk is installed. If the problem persists, try a different USB port. Ensure the cable is properly connected. If nothing works, restart the computer.
Can I connect USB 2.0 peripherals to this hub?
Yes, but they will operate at USB 1.1 speed (12 Mbit/s) due to the hub's limitations. For optimal performance, use USB 1.1 peripherals.
How do I clean the USB hub?
Disconnect the hub before cleaning. Use a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid or abrasive products.
Is the hub covered by warranty?
Yes, the Philips 2G350A2H hub is covered by the Philips standard warranty. For details, refer to the instruction manual or the Philips website.
Can I use the hub with a monitor that does not have a USB bay?
The hub is designed to be installed in the USB bay of a compatible monitor. If your monitor does not have this bay, you can use the hub as an external USB hub by placing it on a flat surface, but without securing it.
