Can the PHILIPS HD7546/20 coffee maker be used to prepare a single cup of coffee?
Frequently Asked Questions - 29/12/2025
Response Notice-Facile

Yes, the PHILIPS HD7546/20 coffee maker is perfectly suited for preparing a single cup of coffee. Thanks to its flexible filling system, you are not required to make a full carafe and can easily measure for a single cup without waste.

Filling the reservoir: The water reservoir has two sets of level indicators on the side. Use the right scale for small cups (80 ml) and the left scale for large cups (120 ml). For a single cup, pour cold water up to the corresponding mark: either 80 ml for a standard cup or up to 120 ml if you prefer a generous cup.

Measuring ground coffee: Place ground coffee (filter type) in the permanent filter of your coffee maker. To obtain a tasty coffee, count one level spoonful of coffee for a small cup, or a heaped spoonful (well packed) for a large cup. You can adjust according to your personal taste: less for a light coffee, more for a strong coffee.

Starting up: Close the filter holder and press the on/off button. The device immediately starts heating the water and preparing your coffee. Thanks to the anti-drip system, coffee does not spill when you remove the carafe during brewing.

Automatic shut-off: The coffee maker automatically stops once all the water has passed through the filter and filled your cup. You have nothing to monitor. After use, remember to rinse the permanent filter with clear water to facilitate cleaning.

Practical tip: The warming plate allows you to enjoy your cup at your leisure. If your cup cools down, you can place it directly on the warming plate to slightly reheat it.
