BEFORE USE

Read these instructions fully and keep them for future reference. Check whether the mains voltage in your home corresponds to that of the appliance (220-240V). Only connect this appliance to an earthed socket.

Remove any stickers. Wash all parts in soapy water before use (except for the heating base) and rinse thoroughly.

Do not use any sharp objects in the pot or on the baking sheet as these may damage non-stick coating. Only prick the ingredients with the forks, taking care not to scratch the pot.

Please note:

During use the temperature light will go on and off. This indicates that the thermostat is working properly and is constantly regulating the temperature. Unplug the appliance when the heating base is no longer being used.

Make sure that the base is standing on a firm table or other stable surface. Do not place the appliance on a (hot) cooking plate. Plug the appliance in and set the thermostat to the desired temperature. It will take several minutes for the appliance to heat up, so in the meantime you can prepare the ingredients. The temperature light will go out as soon as the heating base reaches the right temperature.

Let the heating base and all other parts cool down thoroughly before putting them away.

FONDUE

The adjustable temperature means that fondue pot can be used for various kinds of fondue: the classic meat fondue, a cheese fondue or a Chinese fondue (with ingredients cooked in boiling stock).

Fill the pot with the desired ingredient- oil, cheese, stock or chocolate - and place it on the heating base. Make sure the pot is not too full. In order to avoid boiling liquid overflow, the contents should not exceed 80% of the capacity of the pot. Set the temperature regulator to the required setting. The red light will go on and off as the thermostat regulates the temperature. For the classic meat fondue the thermostat needs to be set at the maximum level, whereas for cheese, Chinese and chocolate fondues the "medium" setting is preferable. Adjust the temperature so that the contents are just starting to boil. Cheese and chocolate in particular need to be heated up slowly, as the pot will otherwise boil over. Stir every now and then to obtain a smooth mixture. Only prick into the ingredients, not into the pot.

KEEPING FOOD HOT

In principle, any type of pot or heat-resistant dish can be placed on the heating base to keep food and sauces hot. Set the temperature to "low" for this.

The heating base must be kept dry. It can be wiped with a damp cloth if necessary.

MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING

  1. Always unplug the appliance and allow cooling before moving and/or cleaning.
  2. All surfaces can be cleaned with a clean damp cloth.
  3. Do not use abrasive cleaning agents or sharp objects (e.g. scrubbing brush or knife) for cleaning.
  4. Do not immerse the appliance in water or other liquids.
