USER MANUAL Iceless 26 Igloo
En! Important Safeguards Read all instructions carefully before using your Iceless™. Save these instructions for future reference. To reduce the risk of fire, electrical shock and/or injury to persons when using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the following:1. To protect against electric shock, do not place cord, plug or Iceless™ in water or any other liquid.2. Do not expose unit to rain. Electric shock could occur if this unit is used on wet surfaces. Do not handle plug with wet hands.3. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.4. Unplug Iceless™ from outlet when not in use and before cleaning.5. Use this product only for its intended use as described in this manual. Only accessories or attachments recommended by Igloo should be used.6. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug, or after the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner. Return appliance to an authorized service facility for examination, repair or adjustment.7. To reduce the risk of fire or electrical shock, do not remove any service covers. Only authorized personnel should repair the Iceless™.
EnThermoelectric units cool like a refrigerator. If a cold drink or food is put into a cold refrigerator, it will stay cold. But if a warm drink or food is put into a refrigerator, it will take time for the item to reach the lower temperature desired. Likewise, the Iceless™ unit will always perform at its best when it is filled with food or beverages which have been prechilled. For maximum cooling performance, plug in the thermoelectric cooler and let it cool down for approximately 3 hours before filling it with food and beverages. Iceless™ thermoelectric coolers do not have a thermostat, therefore it is normal for the units to run continuously without shutting off at a predetermined temperature. This means that their cooling ability is affected by the air temperature around them. For example, where a constant room temperature of 72ºF (22ºC) is maintained, the Iceless™ will cool to approximately 36ºF (2ºC). To ensure optimum cooling performance, always keep your unit out of direct sunlight. Foods and beverages will continue to stay cool after the Iceless™ is disconnected, but the food storage temperature will change over time to that of the surrounding air. Observe common-sense hygiene rules. Do not eat or drink perishable items that may have spoiled or become contaminated as a result of improper temperature control. It is normal for thermoelectric coolers to collect condensate inside the unit, especially when operated in high ambient temperatures or humid environments. This is not a malfunction. Droplets can be wiped from the unit with a dry, clean cloth. FOR MAXIMUM COOLING PERFORMANCE,
plug in the cooler and let it cool down for approximately 3 hours before filling it with food and beverages. 3 HOURSSafety Precautions: Failure to follow these precautions may result in fire, electrical shock and/or injury to persons. Iceless™ Cooler
1. Do not operate the Iceless™ outside of your vehicle, home or
office while connected to power. Keep the unit out of rain to prevent water from entering the air vents and motors.
2. Never use extension cords with the Iceless™.
3. Use only the Iceless™ DC power cable with a DC power
source (vehicle 12V, such as cigarette lighter). Never attempt to connect the Iceless™ to AC current without the use of the optional Igloo AC converter. Use of non-approved DC cables or AC converters may hinder the unit’s performance and will void its warranty.
4. Do not use ice in the Iceless™ cooler.
Never fill the Iceless™ with liquids that aren’t sealed in containers. If liquids get into the fan and motors, they can cause corrosion and impaired unit performance.
5. Always ensure that the Iceless™ cooler
is operating in an area with adequate ventilation. Never cover the air vents, air intake or fan areas of the cooler with any objects. Never operate the Iceless™ in an enclosed area or car trunk/boot. Never sit on the Iceless™ thermoelectric cooler.
6. Avoid contact with interior moving or metal parts while the
cooler is in use. Electrical shock or burns may result.
7. Always unplug the power source before cleaning.
8. Do not spray liquid cleaner, water or other substances into the
9. Maintain the unit in a clean environment with good air flow.
Avoid pet hair, dirt or dust that may impair the unit’s operation and void its warranty.
10. Do not place any part of the Iceless™ into a dishwasher.
11. Do not build the Iceless™ into a cabinet, counter or other area
unless adequate ventilation is available.
12. Always use proper lifting techniques when transporting the
Iceless™ filled with food and beverages. When possible, empty contents from the Iceless™ before lifting or moving.
13. Avoid dropping the Iceless™ thermoelectric cooler, as this
could cause damage to the internal electronic components.
14. Caution - Hold lid when loading or unloading cooler or use
handle to prop lid open. DC Operation
1. When operating in the DC mode, the Iceless™ will not
automatically shut off when the vehicle battery voltage is low. This can drain a battery if left unattended for long periods of time.
2. Do not operate the Iceless™ for more than two hours when
the vehicle engine is off. On average, these coolers draw between 4.0 amps to 4.8 amps of electricity per hour. While an average vehicle battery is rated at 48-60 amps/hr., age will affect its performance. The unit can be operated continuously while the vehicle is running.
3. If the engine is switched off for long periods (overnight), it is
important to unplug the Iceless™ from its power source to avoid battery drain.
4. If the Iceless™ is run from a secondary battery, periodically
have the battery checked for available amps. Power Cord/Plug
1. When turning off the Iceless™, never pull the cord to
disconnect from the power source. Always hold the plug – not the cord – then gently pull to disconnect. Avoid touching the tip of the DC plug, as it may be hot.
2. Do not cut the power cord or modify it in any way. Doing so
may cause fire or shock and will invalidate the warranty.
3. Only use the Igloo power cord supplied with the Iceless™.
Failure to do so may cause fire or shock and will invalidate the warranty.
4. Should the 7.5-amp fuse in the DC cable require replacement:
unscrew the tip of the plug; remove the used fuse; insert the new fuse; and reattach the tip of the plug. Never use greater than an 7.5-amp fuse and ensure that the fuse is approved by the appropriate electrical certification agencies in the country of use. See fuse assembly diagram below.
5. Do not allow the cord to become tangled or crimped by heavy

En12V DC Power Operation Thermoelectric Coolers 1. Remove the DC power cable from inside the thermoelectric cooler. 2. Locate the plug receptacle on the Iceless™ unit and insert one end of the DC cable into the cooler receptacle (Figure 1). 3. Plug the other end of the power cord into your vehicle’s cigarette lighter (Figure 2). For the best contact, be sure that your cigarette lighter is free of debris and corrosion.4. Your Iceless™ thermoelectric cooler can also be used with household current by plugging the DC cable into an optional Igloo AC converter (Figure 3). 120V/230V AC Power Operation Thermoelectric AC/DC Coolers Igloo’s optional 110/120-volt (U.S. and Canada) or 220/240-volt (Europe) AC internal power supply transforms 110-volt or 230-volt AC power to 12-volt DC current so that the your Iceless™ can operate on standard household power (Figure 3).1. Remove the AC converter from its box (may be inside cooler).2. Insert the plug end of the DC power cable into the round cylinder (adapter socket) of the AC converter cord.3. Insert the plug end of the AC converter into any 110-volt (U.S. or Canada) or 230-volt (Europe) household AC outlet. Do not use any other method of connecting your unit to AC current. Fire or shock may occur. Maintenance Procedures 1. Keep the power cord and cigarette lighter socket clean at all times. Tobacco particles in the socket or on the plug can adversely affect cooler performance.2. Before cleaning the Iceless™ cooler, be certain it is disconnected from all power sources. Wipe the inside of the cooler clean with a warm, damp cloth. Do not use harsh or abrasive cleaners. A mild soap or baking soda solution is typically sufficient for this purpose.3. To clean the air vents of dust, ensure that the Iceless™ cooler is disconnected from all power sources. Remove dust by gently cleaning with a soft brush or use a vacuum cleaner.4. Should the fuse in the DC cable require replacement: unscrew the tip of the plug; remove the used fuse; insert the new fuse; and reattach the tip of the plug. See figure on page 6 for proper assembly.
