Information about this user manual
This user manual is part of the milk frother LM-216P (in the following "device") and provides you with important information about the start-up, safety, intended use and the care of the device.
The user manual must always be available at the device. It must be read and the contained instructions must be followed by any person commissioned with the operation, the repair and/or cleaning of the device.

The frother corresponds with the stipulated safety regulations. However, improper use may lead to personal injuries or property damages.
Danger from electrical current
DANGER
Danger to life from electrical current!
Touching voltage carrying cables or parts can mean danger to life.
Obey the following safety instructions to prevent danger because of electrical current:
Do not use the device if the power cable or plug is damaged.
Have an authorized technician install a new power cable before you continue to use the device.
- Never open the device. There is the danger of electrocution, if voltage-carrying contacts are touched and the electrical and mechanical construction is modified.
Risk of burning
WARNING
Parts of the device may become very hot during operation.
Obey the following safety instructions to prevent scalding or burning yourself and/or others.
Special care need to be exercised when opening the lid, as the content of the pitcher may splash out.
Do not move the device while it is switched on. During movement, hot liquid may spill out of the device.
Always allow the device to cool down before cleaning.
General safety instructions
To ensure the safe handling of the device, please follow the safety instructions below:
Before using the device, inspect it for visible damages to the housing, the lid, the connecting cable and plug as well as damages to the pitcher. Do not start operating a damaged device.
□ Repairs of the device must only be done through authorized dealers or the factory's customer service department. Improper repair may cause significant dangers to the user. Furthermore, the warranty becomes void.
A repair of the device during the warranty period may only be conducted by a customer service agency authorized through the manufacturer, otherwise, no warranty claims may be upheld in case of consequential damages.
Defective parts must only be replaced with original spare parts. Meeting the safety requirements is only ensured when using original spare parts.
Persons who due to their physical, mental or motor abilities are not able to safely operate the device may use the unit only under supervision of or instruction by a responsible person.
Children are only allowed to use the device when supervised.
Always pull the power cable by the power plug and not the cable itself.
Do not carry the device by the power cable.
- Do not allow the power cable to dangle down. This presents a risk of pulling down the device by the cable.
Use the device only together with the supplied base station.

Obey the following instructions to prevent dangerous situations:
- Packaging material may not be used for playing. There is the risk of suffocation.
Note the information on the setup location as well as on the electrical connection of the device to prevent personal injuries and property damages.
Scope of delivery and transport inspection
The standard equipment of the device includes the following components:
Milk frother (base station and pitcher)
Attachment for milk foam

NOTE
Inspect the delivery for completeness and visible damages.
Report an incomplete delivery or damages due to inadequate pa-ckaging or through transport immediately to the freight carrier, the insurance company and the supplier.
Disposal of packaging
The packaging protects the device from transport damages. The packaging materials have been chosen under the aspects of environmental compatibility and to facilitate the disposal and can therefore be recycled.

Returning the packaging to the material cycle saves raw materials and reduces the amount of waste generated. Dispose packaging materials no longer needed at the collecting stations of your local recycling system.
NOTE
If possible, store the original packaging during the warranty period of the device to be able to properly package the device in case of a warranty issue.
Requirements on the setup location
To ensure the safe and trouble-free operation of the device, the setup location must meet the following requirements:
The device must be positioned on a firm, level, horizontal, skid-proof and heat-resistant surface.
Choose the place of installation in that way, that children are not able to reach the hot surfaces of the device.
The device is not intended for fitting in.
- Do not setup the device in a hot, wet or damp environment and not close to flammable materials.
The electrical outlet must be easily accessible to readily allow pulling out of the power cable, if necessary.
Electrical connection

To ensure the safe and correct operation of the device, the following instructions must be observed when electrically connecting the device:
Before connecting the device compare the connecting details (voltage and frequency) on the type plate with those of your mains system. The details must correspond to prevent damage to the device. Contact your electrical expert in case of doubt.
The electrical outlet must be protected with at least a 10A circuit breaker.
Make sure that the electrical cable is not damaged or routed via hot surfaces or sharp edges.
The device may not be connected using an extension cable or outlet strip.
The power cable may not be pulled taut.
The electrical safety of the device is only ensured if it is connected to a properly installed protective ground system. Operating the device from an outlet without earth conductor is forbidden. In case of doubt, have the home wiring inspected by a certified electrician. The manufacturer does not assume any liability for damages caused by a missing or interrupted earth conductor.
Before the first use
Remove the protective cardboard between base station and pitcher.
Before using the frother the first time, clean the device as described in the Chapter Cleaning and Care.

Handling and operation

This chapter contains important information on handling and operating the device.
Safety information

WARNING
Obey the following safety instructions to prevent dangers and property damages:
Never touch rotating parts of the device.
Do not stick any objects or body parts into the running device.
Do not leave the device unattended during operation.
Do not place the pitcher in the microwave oven or the stove.
- Fill the device only up to the respective mark. Overfilling may cause hot liquid to spill from the pitcher.
The device and the contents become hot. Hold the device only by its handle.
NOTE
The milk's preparation cannot be interrupted manually. In case of unintended function pull the power plug from the outlet or lift the pitcher off the base station.
Allow the device to cool down before using it again.

Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance
The appliance is only to be used with the stand provided.
This appliance is intended to be used in household and similar applications such as:
- staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working environments;
-farm houses;
-by clients in hotels, motels and other residential type environments;
-bed and breakfast type environments.
Preparing the milk foam
Proceed as follows to prepare milk foam:
Push the button and lift the lid off upwards.

Push the attachment for foamed milk onto the mixer rod as shown.

Fill the desired amount of milk into the pitcher.

NOTE
Fill the pitcher at least with 100ml and not higher than to the lower mark inside the pitcher (200ml)
Frothed milk expands and causes the pitcher to overflow, if filled up too high.

Place the lid on the pitcher.

Start the preparation for warm milk foam by pushing the start button A.

Start the preparation for cold milk foam by pushing the start button B.

NOTE
Depending on the filling volume, the preparation stops automatically after a maximum of 120 seconds.
Open the lid after you are done with the preparation and lift it off upwards.

Pour or ladle the milk foam into the drinking vessel.

After having used the frother, clean the device as described in the Chapter Cleaning and Care.

Heating milk
Heating milk is different from preparing milk foam in the following steps: Remove the attachment for foamed milk as shown.

Fill the desired amount of milk into the pitcher.

NOTE
Fill the pitcher at least with 100ml and not higher than to the upper mark inside the pitcher (330ml)
The remaining steps are identical to the preparation of milk foam.
After having used the frother, clean the device as described in the Chapter Cleaning and Care.
NOTE
Fit the attachment for foamed milk again after use so that it is not lost.
Cleaning and Care
Safety instructions
WARNING
Obey the following safety instructions before beginning to clean the device:
Pull the power plug from the outlet before cleaning.
Always allow the device to cool down before cleaning.
The pitcher has a non-stick coating on the inside. Do not use any aggressive or abrasive cleaning agents and no solvents.
Do not scrape off tough soiling with hard objects.
- Never submerge the device base, the pitcher, the lid, the power cable or the power plug into water or other liquids.
Do not clean the device or parts of it with the dishwasher.
Cleaning
NOTE
For better cleaning, remove the mounted milk attachment and the sealing ring on the lid and clean them separately.
Clean the outer surfaces of the device and the lid with a soft damp cloth. In case of heavy soiling, a mild cleaning agent may be used.
- Rinse the pitcher with hot water after use. In case of tough soiling inside the pitcher wash it with a soap solution and rinse well. Use a soft cloth to prevent damage to the non-stick coating.

NOTE
If you cannot solve the problem following the steps outlined above, please contact the customer service.
Storage / Disposal
If you do not need the device for an extended period of time, allow it to cool down and clean the device as described in the chapter Cleaning and Care to prevent mould formation. Mould fungus represents a health risk and stains may develop on the unit which can no longer be removed.

Electric and electronic end-of-life devices often still contain valuable materials. However, they also contain hazardous substances which were required for their proper function and safety.
If disposed of with regular household waste or treated incorrectly they can pose a risk to human health and the environment.
NOTE
Use the collecting station in your municipality to return electrical and electronic end-of-life device for recycling. Obtain the information required, if necessary, from your city hall, your waste disposal company or your dealer.
Render the device unusable before disposal. Make sure your end-of- life device is stored safely away from children until hauled away.
