What is the capacity of the DOMO DO496WK kettle?

The kettle has a minimum capacity of 0.5 liters and a maximum of 1.7 liters. Ensure not to exceed the MAX mark to avoid boiling water overflow.

How do I descale the kettle?

Fill the kettle with 3 cups of white vinegar and the rest with water, let it sit overnight without boiling. Then discard the solution, boil clean water twice and discard. You can also use a non-toxic descaling product.

Does the kettle shut off automatically?

Yes, the kettle switches off automatically as soon as the water boils. You can also stop it manually by lifting the switch. Ensure the lid is properly closed and nothing hinders the switch movement.

What should I do if the kettle heats empty?

The kettle is equipped with a safety thermostat that disables it automatically. Let it cool down before filling with cold water. Avoid using it without water to prevent damage.

How to clean the kettle filter?

Remove the removable filter from the spout and clean it with a soft, damp cloth. Replace it before each use. Clean it regularly to prevent limescale build-up.

Can I use an extension cord?

No, using an extension cord is not recommended. The kettle comes with a short cord for safety reasons. Plug it directly into a suitable power outlet.

This may happen if the water level is below the minimum mark (0.5 L). In that case, the kettle automatically shuts off. Also check that the lid is closed properly and the switch is not blocked.

This appliance has a two year warranty period. During this period the manufacturer is responsible for any failures that are the direct result of construction failure. When these failures occur the appliance will be repaired or replaced if necessary. The warranty will not be valid when the damage to the appliance is caused by wrong use, not following the instructions or repairs executed by a third party. The guarantee is issued with the original till receipt. All parts, which are subject to wear, are excluded from the warranty.

If your device breaks down within the 2-year warranty period, you can return the device together with your receipt to the shop where you purchased it.

• This appliance is intended to be used in household and similar applications such as:

• by clients in hotels, motels and other residential type environments;
  • bed and breakfast type environments.
• This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced

physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.

- Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

- This appliance shall not be used by children from 0 year to 16 years. This appliance can be used by children aged from 16 years and above if they are continuously supervised. This appliance can be used by people with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. - Do not let the power supply cord hang over the edge of a counter, or touch hot surfaces.

- Do not allow the power cord supply to run underneath or around the unit.

- Make sure the appliance is correctly assembled, then plug the cord in the wall outlet. To disconnect, turn controls to “OFF” or “0” position, then remove the plug from the wall. Never pull the cord or appliance to remove the plug from the socket.

- Failure to maintain this appliance in a clean condition could adversely affect the life of the appliance and possibly result in a hazardous situation.

- During boiling, hot steam may come through the filter or any other opening. Keep hands and face at a safe distance during operation.

- Only use the connector, stand or unit with incorporated thermostat delivered with the appliance.

- Do not overfill the kettle. Boiling water or other liquid may be ejected during usage.

- This appliance is operated filled at least to the minimum level and not above the maximum level marked on the appliance.

- Do not spill any liquid on the connector.

- WARNING : Do not remove the lid while the water is boiling.

- CAUTION : Ensure that the kettle is switched off before removing it from its stand.

BEFORE THE FIRST USE

Boil a full water kettle twice and pour away the water before actually using the water kettle for the first time.

USING THE WATER KETTLE

1. Remove the water kettle from its base and open the lid by pressing the top button.

2. Fill the water kettle with the desired amount of water. Make sure that the water level is always higher than the minimum indication (0.5 l) and lower than the maximum indication (1.7 l).

3. If you have not added enough water, the water kettle will switch off before the water boils.

4. If you have added too much water, the boiling water could escape through the spout. That is why you should never exceed the maximum indication when filling the kettle. Also, always make sure that the lid is properly closed before turning on the watter kettle.

5. Place the water kettle on its base.

6. Plug in the appliance.
7. Press the on/off switch at the bottom of the handle. The indicator will light up and the water kettle will start the boiling process.
8. The water kettle will automatically switch off when the water boils. You can always stop the boiling process yourself at any moment by pushing the on/off switch upward.

→ Make sure that the on/off switch is clear of obstructions and that the lid is firmly closed. The water kettle will not switch off automatically if the switch is hindered or if the lid is still open.

1. Remove the kettle from the base and pour out the water.

→ Be careful when pouring the water since it is possible to burn

yourself on the boiling water or the hot steam. Do not open the lid when the water in the water kettle is hot.

1. The water kettle will not start boiling again until the switch is pressed down again. Let the appliance cool down for 30 seconds before reopening the water kettle to boil water.

2. The water kettle can remain on its base when the appliance is not being used.

3. Make sure that the water kettle does not receive any power when it is not being used, so always unplug the appliance when not in use.
4. If by accident you would use the kettle without water in it, the boil dry protection will automatically switch off the appliance. If this happens, let the water kettle cool down completely before filling the kettle with cold water to start the boiling process.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Always disconnect the appliance from the power outlet and let it cool down completely before cleaning.

1. Never immerse the kettle, power cord or power base in water. Also make sure that these parts do not come in contact with moisture.
2. Wipe the exterior with a damp cloth, never use a chemical or abrasive cleaner.
3. Remember to clean the filter on a regular basis. Detach the filter by pressing down the tab of the filter inside the kettle. Rince the filter and replace it after cleaning.

Descaling

Tap water may cause mineral deposits on the inside of the water kettle. Use a liquid descaler or a non-toxic cleaning product to remove this build-up.

An alternate solution could be the following:

1. Fill the water kettle with 3 cups of white vinegar and add water until the kettle is full (max. level). Let this soak overnight. However, do not boil this liquid!
2. Afterwards, pour away the solution. Stains that remain in the spout can be removed by rubbing it with a damp cloth.
3. Fill the kettle with clean water, boil and pour away the water.
4. Repeat once more and the water kettle is again ready for use.

Cleaning the housing

Rub the outside of the kettle clean with a soft, damp cloth or with a mild detergent. Never use a toxic cleaning product.

Caution: Do not use any chemical, metal, wooden or abrasive cleaning products to clean the outside of the water kettle.

Cleaning the filter

Remind yourself to regularly clean the filter in the spout with a soft, damp cloth. You can remove the filter from the spout to do this. Always place the filter back into

the spout before using the water kettle.

STORAGE

To store the appliance in a compact manner, you can wind up the cord in the bottom of the base.
