How to connect the device to the vehicle's 12V socket?

Plug the 12Vdc cable into the device cover, then insert the vehicle plug (fig.1) into the 12V power socket (cigarette lighter). Make sure the vehicle dashboard is on for the socket to work.

Can I plug both cables (12V and 230V) at the same time?

No, never plug both cables simultaneously to avoid damaging the device or vehicle. Use only one power source at a time.

Why is there water forming inside the cooler?

This is normal after a long period of operation: air humidity condenses. Wipe off excess water with a dry cloth after unplugging the device, then wait a few hours before turning it on again.

What to do if the cooler is not cooling?

Check that the internal and external ventilation grilles are not blocked. Make sure the device is properly plugged in and the power source is working. If the fan is running but not cooling, the Peltier module may be defective; contact after-sales service.

What to do if the fan is not running?

If plugged into 12V, check that the vehicle socket is powered (dashboard on) and that the cigarette lighter fuse is not blown. On mains, check that the socket works and the plug is fully inserted. If the problem persists, the fan may be broken; contact after-sales service.

How to clean the cooler?

Always unplug the device before cleaning. Clean the inside and outside with a damp cloth. Do not use corrosive detergents or rough objects. Never immerse the cooler in water.

What is the recommended maximum continuous operation time?

It is not recommended to use the device for more than 36 hours continuously. After this period, turn off the cooler and wait at least 2 hours before restarting to avoid damaging the cooling system.

Can I put hot food in the cooler?

It is advisable to let hot food cool down before putting it in the cooler to avoid overloading the cooling system. Preferably store already cooled food and drinks.

How to avoid draining my car battery?

On Freddy models, there is no built-in Battery Saver device. To protect the battery, do not leave the cooler plugged into the vehicle's 12V socket continuously unattended. Unplug it after use or use an optional battery monitor.

How to activate ECO mode?

On models with dual power supply (Freddy Classe A), when the device is plugged into 230V mains, you can select ECO mode to save energy. See the 'Operation' section of the manual for selection details.

2 SAFETYWARNINGS

• Do not operate the appliance if it is visibly damaged.
• Carefully clean the inside of the box before use.
• Do not place the appliance near naked flames or other heat sources, nor dip it into water.
• Avoid covering the ventilation vents.
• Do not place loads in excess of 3kg on the top of the lid.
• This appliance may only be repaired by qualified personnel. Improper repairs can lead to considerable hazards (please read § "Guarantee").
• We suggest you store your food products in the original packaging or in suitable food trays.
• The appliance is not suitable to store corrosive materials or substances containing solvents
• Electrical appliances are not toys!

Keep and use the appliance out of reach of children.

Children must not be left unattended when using the appliance.

• The appliance shall only be connected as instructed below:

• use a 230Vac cable for connection to AC household mains outlet (where provided).

• use a 12Vdc cable for connection to your vehicle power socket.

• Never unplug the appliance from the power socket or the household mains socket by pulling the power cable.

• If the connection cable is damaged, it must be replaced with a new one of the same type and sharing the same specifications. Do not touch exposed cables with your bare hands. This especially applies when operating the appliance on an AC mains.

Caution: Do not connect the two power supplies (where provided) at the same time to avoid damage the equipment / vehicles / accessories.

Caution: Danger of fatal injury!

• Always disconnect the power cable before cleaning and after use.
• Always compare the voltage data provided on the rating plate with that of the available sockets and outlets.
• Before operating the electrobox, always ensure that the power supply line and the plug are dry.
• Do not operate the device in excessively dusty places. Dust is likely to obstruct the air ducts and bring damages to the coolbox.

Caution: Danger of overheating!

• Check that any heat produced during operation is adequately given off. Ensure that the distance between the appliance and the walls or other objects allows a free circulation of air (30 cm at least).
• Do not pour any liquid or ice into the inner box.
• Never place the appliance in water.
• Protect the device and all wires from heat and humidity.
• To avoid overheating or malfunction, ensure the plug fits into the vehicle power socket to make proper electrical contact.
• Do not touch the metal end of the plug after use, as it may be very hot and cause burns.
• If the vehicle does not have the power socket, connect the cable to the 12VDC cigarette lighter socket.

Warning: This connection could lead to excessive overheating of the plug and the socket car cigarette lighter of the vehicle. Constantly check the correct operation of the device and that the temperature of the car plug and the cigarette lighter socket will not rise excessively.

When using the cigarette lighter socket, do not leave the appliance unattended.

This device can be used by children aged 8 years and over and by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge, only under proper supervision and if aware of the instructions regarding the safe use of the device and well-aware of the relevant risks.

Cleaning and user maintenance should not be performed by children without supervision.

3 CONNECTIONS

• Connection to 12Vdc power socket

• Pull out or connect the 12Vdc cable to the device lid (as a function of the model)

• Plug the car plug (fig.1) into the power socket

• Connection to AC 230Vac household power supply mains (in model provided with this option)

• Connect the 230Vac cable to the coolbox lid

• Plug the power cable (fig.2) into the alternating current socket

Caution!

Ensure you ALWAYS plug in the power cable from the correct side.

Caution!

For models where a dual power supplay mode is provided: NEVER connect the 12 Vdc and the 230 Vac cables at the same time.

4 USE

• Suitable for use in campsites.
• Article should not be exposed to rain.
  This article is designed for domestic applications and similar.
• For health-related reasons, always clean the appliance inside and outside with a wet cloth any time you use the coolbox.
  Always store previously cooled food and drinks in the coolbox.
• Let warm food cool down before storing them in the toolbox.
• Place the coolbox on a flat and stable base with the lid up side (except for the model Shiver 40 - 12 V).
  The coolbox must be opened as little as possible, and it must be reclosed in the shortest time so that a constant temperature can be held inside.
• The special insulation allows food and drinks to remain fresh for a long time even when the coolbox is off. To maximize and extend the cooling effect over time, we suggest you use the ice packs (see ACCESSORIES).

- Caution!

The device is suitable to keep cool food and drinks in their original containers.

Never use the product for more than 36 hours of continuous operation.

Prolonged and continuous use may reduce performance or even damage the cooling system.

Once the toolbox is off, wait at least 2 hours before turning it on again.

- Caution!

After a long period of operation, water may form and accumulate at the bottom of the coolbox. This is normal, as air humidity condenses during the cooling process. This means the coolbox is not broken. If necessary, remove excess humidity with a wet cloth.

- Caution!

The cooling is produced by a Peltier cooling system that does not contain CFC or coolants.

5 OPERATION

• Once connected to the power source, the coolbox soon starts operating. The electrobox is designed to cool down food and keep it fresh.
• Switch off the coolbox by simply disconnecting the power cable.

Note for models Shiver and Freddy Classe A.

For models with dual power supply, if connected to a domestic network 230V ac, selection of two types of operation possible:

-ECO-FUNCTION: The device complies with the directive on energy saving (Regulation CE n. 643/2009) ensuring an internal temperature between 8°C and 14°C with an external temperature between 16°C and 32°C .

• FUNCTION PLUS: the device does NOT comply with the directive on energy saving (Regulation CE n. 643/2009), but operates continuously at the peak of its power and therefore the system may fall below 8°C (always a function of the external temperature).

- Caution!

We recommend the use of the Function Battery Saver (see 5 - B) or the Battery Monitor (see table of accessories) to protect the batteries of cars that keep on feeding the coolbox with power even after the engine has been turned off.

5-B BATTERYSAVER (only for model Shiver 40 -12 V)

Remark!

The SHIVER 40 model is equipped with a Battery Saver system and a display unit that measures the internal temperature of the coolbox.

By actuating the Battery saver button, the following car battery protection modes can be selected:

Position -1) No car battery protection (WARNNG: this setting may cause the car battery to go completely flat)

Position-2) Maximum battery protection level (10,6 V)

Position -3) Medium battery protection level (10 V)

6 CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

- Warning!

Before cleaning the electrobox, disconnect the power cable from the mains socket or the car power socket

- Caution!

Never clean the appliance under running water.

• Do not use corrosive detergents or rough objects for cleaning purposes, that may damage the product (blades, spatulas, etc.).
• Clean the coolbox inside and outside from time to time with a wet cloth.
• Protect the cooling lid from penetrating liquids, sand or dust.

7 TROUBLE-SHOOTING

PROBLEM POSSIBLE CAUSE ACTION
The electrobox does not work and the cooling fun does not turn (if connected to the power socket).	The vehicle power socket does not receive voltage.	In many motor vehicles, switching on the dashboard is required to operate the power socket.
	The cigarette lighter socket fuse is blown.	Replace the fuse (fig.3) with another one equal in type. Read the technical rating printed on the fuse.
	The vehicle fuse is blown.	Replace the fuse according to the instructions provided by the vehicle user's manual.
	The cooling fan is broken. Contact our customer service (see § Guarantee).
The electrobox does not work and the cooling fun does not turn (if connected to the 230V household mains (for models equipped with built-in power feeder only).	The socket does not work	Verify that the AC is working
	The plug is not properly inserted	Verify the correct insertion of the plug into the socket by pulling it out and putting it back
	The cooling fan is broken.	Contact our customer service (see § Guarantee).
	The built-in power feeder is faulty.	Contact our customer service (see § Guarantee).
	The AC power cable is faulty.	Replace the cable with a new original one.
The fan turns but the coolbox does not cool.	Ventilation slots are partly or thoroughly obstructed.	Check both internal and external ventilation slots. Move the coolbox to a place where it can be more ventilated.
	The thermoelectric module is faulty (Peltier).	Contact our customer service (see § Guarantee).
Water forms inside the coolbox during operation.	The coolbox has been operating for a long time, which causes the formation of condensate.	Dry up excess water with a cloth, ensuring that the coolbox is disconnected.Wait a few hours before switching it on again.

8 GUARANTEE

The coolbox is under guarantee for 24 months from the purchase date against manufacturing defects that do not depend on improper use or alterations and damage made by the user / third party.
If the product turns out to be defective, please address Gio'Style Consumer Service on website: www.giostyle.com, or contact the nearest distributor.
- The guarantee conditions only apply if the following documents are available:

• a copy of the invoice or sales receipt bearing the product purchase date.
• a sound reason for complaint or fault description.

9 DISPOSAL

Dispose of packing materials by using the special containers, without scattering them freely.

When the appliance is ultimately scrapped, please enquire on the location of the nearest recycling point, or ask your specialized dealer for appropriate instructions for disposal.

INFORMATION FOR USERS: in accordance to Article 13 of Legislative Decree 25 July 2005 n . 151 “ Implementation of Directives 2002/95/EC , 2002/96/EC and 2003/108/EC relating to the reduction of use of hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment , as well as waste disposal .”

The symbol of the crossed-out dustbin on the product or on their packaging indicates that at the end of its life it must be collected separately from the other waste. The user should, therefore, take the product at the end of its useful life to the waste sorting centre for separate collection of waste electronic and electrical goods, or return it to the dealer when purchasing a new equivalent product, on one to one. The appropriate separate waste collection for the subsequent recycling, treatment and environmentally compatible disposal of the disused product, helps to avoid possible negative effects on the environment and human health and promotes the reuse and / or recycling of the materials of which the product is composed. Improper disposal of the product by the user entails the application of administrative sanctions provided by law.
