Frequently Asked Questions - X16 bHaptics

How to charge the X16 haptic vest?
Use the provided charging cable and a certified power adapter (5 V, 2 A max). Plug the cable into the vest's charging port. The LED indicates the charging status: red when charging, green when full. If the battery is completely depleted, the LED may not light up immediately; wait at least 1 hour of charging.
How to pair the vest with my PC or phone?
Make sure Bluetooth and location are enabled on your device. Open the bHaptics Studio app (PC) or the compatible mobile app. Put the vest in pairing mode (see manual). Select 'bHaptics X16' from the list of devices. Do not attempt to pair via the system Bluetooth settings.
Which devices are compatible with the X16?
The X16 is compatible with Windows PCs (via bHaptics Studio) and Android/iOS smartphones. It works with VR and non-VR games that support haptic feedback. A surround audio driver is required for Surround mode.
Can I use the vest with a VR headset?
Yes, the X16 is designed for virtual reality. You must wear the VR headset and vest simultaneously. Make sure the environment is clear to avoid accidents, as the headset blocks peripheral vision.
Is the vest washable?
The mesh inner lining is removable and machine washable at 30 °C. Use a gentle cycle and low heat drying. Do not wash the vest itself with electronic components; clean it with a slightly damp soft cloth.
What safety precautions should I take?
Do not use the vest if you have heart, respiratory, skin, or musculoskeletal problems. Avoid using it while driving, cycling, or in hazardous environments. Keep it out of reach of children under 12. Do not disassemble the battery.
What to do if the LED does not light up during charging?
If the battery is completely depleted, the LED may stay off during the first hour of charging. Leave it plugged in. If it still does not light up after 2 hours, check the cable and adapter. Contact customer service if the problem persists.
How to disable the 'Audio-based Haptics' feature?
In the bHaptics Studio app or the mobile app, go to audio settings and disable 'Audio-based Haptics'. This allows using only the haptic feedback built into the content.
Can I use the vest with non-VR games?
Yes, the X16 works with non-VR games via Surround mode. You need to install a surround audio driver on your PC and activate Surround mode in bHaptics Studio to experience directional feedback.
Where can I find the surround audio driver?
The surround audio driver must be downloaded separately. Check the official bHaptics website or the 'Support' section of the bHaptics Studio app. Some content requires a modding tool; the icon '③' on each game page provides installation instructions.

I can't connect TactSuit to my PC. Is the TactSuit or Bluetooth dongle defective?

Open Device Manager on your PC and disable PC's internal Bluetooth before inserting the provided dongle. If you see CSR Bluetooth Radio under Bluetooth, please uninstall all software related to CSR Bluetooth, then insert the provided dongle.

I keep losing connection to the PC when I turn around or stand up.

Securing the line-of-sight between the TactSuit and the Bluetooth dongle is required for seamless Bluetooth connection. Please insert the Bluetooth dongle to the front of the PC, rather than the back.

I can't feel surround feedback while playing content with 7.1 channel sound (ex. PC FPS game).

You need to select Audio-based Haptics from bHaptics Player, then turn on surround mode. Please note that you need to have a surround audio driver installed on your PC in order to use the Surround mode. Please also note that surround mode is not supported for Wired Audio-based Haptics.

The device can be turned off during your play if you lean back to rest against the chair.
