Thank you for purchasing one of our products. Although it is very easy to use, we recommend that you read these instructions carefully, as they provide installation and operating information for optimum results.

Receipt and unpacking

Any damage caused during transport must be reported to the carrier by registered letter with return receipt within 24 hours of receipt. You must also mention your reservations on the carrier receipt and accurately describe the nature of the damage observed upon delivery.

General requirements for electrical equipment

This appliance is intended only for outdoor domestic use.

Always apply basic safety precautions when using electrical appliances.

Read all instructions carefully.

• This appliance should not be used by children below the age of 8, nor by persons with impaired physical, sensory or mental capacities, or persons without experience or knowledge unless they benefit from supervision or prior instruction on the use of the appliance from a person in charge of safety.
• Children must be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance. Keep out of reach of young children.
• The appliance must never be left unattended when in use.

• When the appliance is not in use, store it somewhere dry.

• Do not use the appliance for any purpose besides its intended one.

• Do not use any grill besides the one(s) supplied by Krampouz.
• The surfaces are likely to become hot when in use. Do not touch hot surfaces.
• The symbol means "Caution: hot surface".
• Do not move the appliance while operating it.
• Using accessories not recommended by the appliance's manufacturer may cause accidents.
• The appliance must be connected to an earthed power socket.
• The appliance must be powered by means of a residual current device with a rated residual operating current of no more than 30 ~mA .
• When using an extension lead, it must be unwound fully to prevent the lead from overheating.
• Always connect and disconnect the power lead when set to the minimum temperature.
• The position indicated by the solid circle corresponds to the minimum temperature position.
• To prevent electric shock, do not immerse the lead, plug or body of the appliance in water or any other liquid. Do not handle them with wet hands.
• Do not leave the lead hanging from a table or worktop.

• Do not place the appliance and its lead on or near a surface which is likely to become hot (electric plate, gas burner, oven, etc.).

• Place the appliance on a stable, dry surface, slightly away from the edge and more than 10 ~cm away from a wall or heat-sensitive area.

• Warning: Do not use the appliance with charcoal or any power source besides the one for which it is designed (electricity).
• Disconnect the plug when the appliance is not in use or before cleaning it.
• Leave the appliance to cool down before handling or cleaning it.
• Do not clean the appliance with a high or low pressure water spray.
• Do not use chlorinated products to clean stainless steel.
• When the appliance is not in use, store it somewhere dry.
• We recommend that you keep the original packaging for storing the appliance.
• We recommend inspecting the power lead regularly for signs of damage; the appliance must not be used if the power lead is damaged.
• Do not connect or use an appliance with a damaged lead or plug. If the power lead is damaged, it must be replaced by the retailer, its after-sales service or qualified personnel so that there is no hazard.

• Examination, repair and maintenance must be carried out by a qualified technician.

• The appliance is not intended to be operated using an external timer or separate remote control system.

Recommendations for using the aluminium drip tray for cooking residues

• The aluminium drip tray for cooking residues must always be attached when using the electric grill.
• Clean the aluminium drip tray for cooking residues regularly. Change it if necessary.
• Before using the electric grill, check that no cooking waste has accumulated in the aluminium drip tray for cooking residues. Remove excess cooking waste to prevent it from catching fire. Fat fires can cause serious injury or material damage.
• Wait for the appliance to cool before touching the aluminium drip tray for cooking residues.
• Do not use an aluminium drip tray for cooking residues besides the one sold by Krampouz.

Installation

Assembly

Before assembling the different part of your simple or double grill:

• remove the protective foil on the stainless steel splash guard

• clean the aluminium trays, the cast iron cooking grate and the stainless steel splash guard with water and some dish soap before first use.

Assembly instructions :

1. Place the cooking grate on the heating elements
2. Place the splash guard
3. Insert the aluminium trays into the back of the grill

Installation

Place the appliance on a flat, rigid surface. Choose a worktop which is easy to maintain and lay the appliance at least 10 cm away from non-heat-resistant walls to reduce radiation from the plate. Do not use on a heat-sensitive surface.

For optimum user-friendliness, the appliance must be placed 85 to 95~cm from the ground. Plain Air trolleys (single or double) are specially designed for Krampouz electric grills. With two wheels, you can move appliances around easily.

Switching on

Clean the cooking surface before using it for the first time. Connect the electric grill to the nearest suitable power source (see technical specifications of the appliance). Smoke is often produced the first time it is used. Connect the electric grill, with the cooking controls on the minimum setting, then set the heat to the desired temperature using the controls.

Switching off

Turn the cooking temperature controls to the minimum position and disconnect the appliance.

Use

Before the first use, the stainless steel back and the removable grill(s) must be washed with soapy water. We also recommend rinsing the aluminium drip tray with clean water.

The electric grill must be used with its stainless steel back. The backsplash helps cooking waste to flow into the collector and protects against fat spray.

Preheat the electric grill for 15 minutes by setting it to the desired cooking temperature.

Using the tongs included in the Barbecue set and some oil, lightly grease the cooking grill before placing any food on it to cook it.

During cooking, do not touch the sides of the appliance.

Place the food on the grill and cook it to your liking. Cooking times may vary according to taste and food. The cooking temperatures below are given for information only.

Positions 1 and 2 are essentially used for keeping food hot.

Advice:

The Krampouz Barbecue set is specially designed for handling food on the electric grill and maintaining the appliance. Turn products over for uniform cooking.

For cooking meat so that it is more tender, and to cook your vegetables, consider using a Krampouz cooking bell.

To make your meat taste better, or to keep it moist during cooking, marinate it for a few hours before your meal or squeeze some lemon juice or olive oil over it while cooking.

Accompaniments:

Salads and sauces: tomato, ketchup, mayonnaise, Béarnaise, Bourguignon, tartare, au poivre, shallots, ... will enhance your dishes.

Caution: the appliance will stay very hot for about 30 minutes after it has been switched off.

Maintenance and cleaning

After cooking, leave the grill to cool for an hour and then remove it from the frame. Wash the grill using the brush included in the Krampouz Barbecue set. If any cooking waste is stuck to the grill, we recommend soaking it in water to make it easier to clean.

Each time you use it, remove cooking waste in the aluminium collector using a spatula. Rinse the aluminium drip tray with soapy water or replace it if necessary.

The stainless steel frame, backsplash and aluminium drip tray for cooking residues may be cleaned using a slightly moist sponge. Do not use an abrasive or rough sponge or brush.

You may also place the grill and back in the dishwasher.

Storage

Each time you use it, store the electric grill somewhere dry and sheltered, where it cannot be damaged. Using Krampouz protective padding and a protective cover is recommended to fully protect the appliance. When storing it for a long period, the electric grill must be placed indoors.

Guarantee and After-sales service

This appliance is guaranteed for 2 years for spare parts. The cooking plate is guaranteed for 5 years in terms of cooking capacity.

We do our very best to ensure that our appliances reach you in perfect working order. If you find a fault when unpacking, please tell the store within 48 hours.

If during this period, you find that it does not work properly, please contact your retailer.

The following are excluded from the guarantee:

• Fair wear and tear of the product which does not affect appliance operation (scratches, superficial corrosion, black spots, knocks, colour changes, etc.)
• Damage resulting from an abnormal event or misuse, product modification or failure to observe the indications contained in the operating instructions.
• Damage resulting from professional, industrial or collective use.
• Damage resulting from a fall or knock.

The crossed out bin symbol, affixed to the product or its packaging, indicates that the product must not be treated as household waste. It must be taken to a collection point suitable for recycling electric and electronic equipment:

• at distribution points if you purchased suitable equipment,
• at local collection points (drop-off centre, selective collection, etc.).
