Frequently Asked Questions - USB DDJ-GRV6 PIONEER

The device does not turn on, what to do?

Check that the USB power adapter (9 V, 3 A) or mobile battery is properly connected. Make sure to use a certified USB cable. If using USB bus power, the computer's USB port must provide enough power.

The computer does not recognize the DDJ-GRV6

Use the included USB cable and plug it directly into a USB port on the computer (avoid hubs). On macOS, check in 'Audio MIDI Setup' that the device appears. On Windows, check Device Manager. Restart the computer and device.

No sound comes out of the speakers

Check the volume settings: TRIM, channel faders, crossfader, MASTER LEVEL. Make sure the cables are properly connected. In the DJ software, verify that the audio outputs are set to 'DDJ-GRV6'.

Sound is distorted or choppy

Increase the audio buffer size in the DJ software preferences (rekordbox or Serato). Close unnecessary applications on the computer. If using a laptop, plug it into the power outlet.

How to use stems mode?

Press the STEMS mode button. Pads 1 to 3 enable/disable the Vocal, Instrument, and Drum stems. Pads 5 to 7 select the stem to process with effects. Hold Shift + STEMS to access Pad FX mode.

The pads do not respond correctly

Check that the pad mode is selected (HOT CUE, STEMS, etc.). Make sure the software is up to date. If the problem persists, reset the device by unplugging and plugging it back in.

How to connect a microphone?

Plug a microphone into the MIC jack (6.35 mm TRS) on the back. Adjust the MIC ATT. and MIC LEVEL knobs on the front panel to set the volume. The microphone sound is mixed into the main outputs.

Can I use the device with an iPad or Android phone?

Yes, the device is compatible with rekordbox for iOS/Android via a USB connection. For Android, set the Android MONO/STEREO switch on the back to the appropriate position. Use a USB power adapter to power the device separately.

How to reset the device?

Disconnect all USB cables, wait a few seconds, then reconnect them. If the device still does not respond, power it off by disconnecting power and reconnect after one minute.
