How to turn the CDE-9881RB car stereo on and off?

Press the SOURCE/ button to turn on the unit. To turn it off, press and hold SOURCE/ for at least 2 seconds.

How to adjust the volume?

Turn the rotary knob to increase or decrease the volume. The adjustment range is from 0 to 35.

How to remove and reattach the front panel?

Turn off the unit, press (OPEN) to open the panel, slide it to the left then pull. To reattach, insert the right side, align the grooves and push until it clicks.

How to store a radio station?

Select the band (FM1/FM2/FM3/MW/LW) and tune to the desired station. Press and hold a preset button (1 to 6) for at least 2 seconds to store it.

How to play MP3 files from a CD?

Burn MP3 files onto a CD-R/RW in ISO9660 format. Insert the disc with the label facing up; playback starts automatically. Use the ◀ or ▶ buttons to navigate between folders.

How to connect an iPod to this car stereo?

Use the FULL SPEED™ (KCE-422i) cable (sold separately) and plug it into the direct iPod connector. Set AUX+ SETUP to OFF in the SETUP menu.

What to do if a CD does not eject?

Press the ▼ button for at least 2 seconds to force ejection. If that doesn't work, press the RESET switch with a ballpoint pen, then try again.

How to clean the car stereo and discs?

For the unit, use a soft dry cloth. For discs, wipe from the center outward with a soft cloth. Do not use solvents or abrasive products.

How to adjust bass and treble?

Press AUDIO/RTN repeatedly to select BASS or TREBLE, then turn the rotary knob to adjust the level (from -7 to +7). You can also adjust the center frequency via BAND/TA.

What does the 'ERROR' display on the CD player mean?

This indicates a misinserted disc, irregularity, or mechanical problem. Remove the disc, check it is clean and perfectly round, then reinsert. If the error persists, contact your Alpine dealer.
