The computer does not turn on. What to do?

Check that the power cord is plugged in and the power outlet works. Look at the power indicator: if it is off, check the voltage selector on the back. If it is on but the system does not start, remove any non-system diskette and restart with Ctrl+Alt+Del.

Nothing is displayed on the screen.

The screen may be in sleep mode. Press a key on the keyboard or move the mouse to wake it up. If that doesn't work, restart the computer. If the problem persists, contact a technician.

The printer does not work.

Make sure the printer is turned on and the cable is properly connected to the parallel or USB port. Also check the printer drivers in the system.

The computer makes no sound.

Check the Volume icon in the taskbar: if it is crossed out, click to unmute. Also check that headphones or external speakers are not plugged in, as they disable the internal speakers.

How to clean my computer?

Turn off the computer and unplug it. Use a soft cloth slightly dampened with water to wipe the exterior and keyboard. Never use liquids or cleaning aerosols.

Can I upgrade the memory or hard drive?

Yes. Open the side panel after unplugging the power. You can replace the hard drive with a higher capacity model or add compatible RAM memory. For installation, follow the instructions provided with the components.

How to connect a second monitor?

Connect the monitor to the VGA, DVI, or HDMI port on the back. Right-click on the desktop, select Screen Resolution, and choose 'Extend' or 'Duplicate' to configure the display.

What to do if the system does not read a CD/DVD?

Check that the disc is inserted correctly, that it is not scratched or dirty. Try with a good disc. If the problem persists, the drive may be defective.

How to save energy with this computer?
