How to charge the camera battery?

Use the provided AC adapter. Plug it into the camera; red indicator means charging, green means the battery is fully charged.

What types of memory cards are compatible?

The camera accepts SD cards (up to 4 GB), SDHC (up to 8 GB), and MMC Plus (up to 2 GB). Insert the card with the chip facing up.

How to take a photo in auto mode?

Turn the dial to AUTO mode. Frame the subject, press the shutter button halfway to focus (green frame), then press fully to take the photo.

How to transfer photos to a Windows computer?

Insert the installation CD, connect the camera via USB, turn it on. On the computer, go to My Computer > Removable Disk > DCIM > 100SSCAM, then copy the files.

How to set the date and time?

Turn on the camera, press [?] to select Language then Date & Time. Use the navigation keys to change values and confirm with [OK].

Can I use the camera with a remote control?

Yes, the camera has an IR receiver. You can use the optional remote control (not supplied) for remote shutter release.

How to clean the lens?

What if the camera does not turn on?

Turning on your camera

1 Press [POWER].

• The initial setup screen appears.

2 Press [O] to select Language and press [O].
3 Press [DISP] or [ ] to select a language and press [OK].
4 Press [DISP] or [ ] to select Date & Time and press [].

6 Press [DISP] or [ ] to change the number or select another date format and press [OK].

2 Rotate or press the navigation button to scroll to an option or menu

• Press [DISP] or [ ] to move up or down; press [ ] or [ ] to move left or right.

• Rotate the navigation button any direction.

3 Press [OK] to confirm the highlighted option or menu.

• Press [MENU] again to go back to the previous menu.

Capturing photos or videos

Taking a photo

1 Rotate the mode dial to AUTO.
2 Align your subject in the frame.
3 Press [Shutter] halfway down to focus automatically.

• A green frame means the subject in focus.

4 Press [Shutter] all the way down to take the photo.

Recording a video

1 Rotate the mode dial to

Transferring files to a PC (Windows)

1 Insert the installation CD in a CD-ROM drive and follow the onscreen instructions.
2 Connect the camera to the PC with the USB cable.

Disconnecting safely (for Windows XP)

3 Turn on the camera.
4 On your PC, select My Computer → Removable Disk → DCIM → 100SSCAM.
5 Select the files you want and drag or save them to the PC.
