How to replace a toner cartridge?

Open the front cover, unlock the lever (blue or green) of the used cartridge, remove it, insert the new Kyocera original cartridge until it clicks, and close the cover.

What to do in case of a paper jam?

Follow the indicator lights and screen: remove the jammed paper by opening the appropriate covers (MF tray, rear cover, etc.). Do not force to avoid tearing the paper.

How to connect the printer via Wi-Fi?

Install the wireless network interface kit (IB-36/IB-51), then access the Wi-Fi Settings menu on the control panel to configure the connection. You can also use the Wi-Fi setup tool provided on the DVD.

How to print automatically on both sides?

In the printer driver, enable the Duplex option or select Duplex Printing in the system menu. The machine automatically turns the paper.

How to use EcoPrint mode?

Press Menu, go to Printer Settings > Print Quality > EcoPrint Mode, then enable it. This reduces toner consumption for everyday prints.

How to replace the toner recovery bin?

Open the front cover, then the toner recovery bin cover (located under the cartridges). Remove the old bin, insert the new one following the guides, and close the covers.

How to set up private printing?

From the printer driver, select Private Printing in the options. The document is stored on the printer; to print it, go to the machine and enter the set password.

How to print from a USB flash drive?

Insert the USB drive into the port on the front of the machine (USB memory slot). On the screen, choose USB Memory then Print File to select and print the document.

How to clean the printer?

Use a soft, dry cloth for the exterior. For the interior, open the covers and gently clean the transfer rollers with a lint-free cloth. Do not touch hot parts like the fuser unit.

How to reset network settings?

Go to Menu > Wired Network or Wi-Fi Settings > Network Reset, then confirm. You can also use Administrator > Initialize SSD for a full reset (caution, erases all data).

1. Safety of laser beam

This machine has been certified by the manufacturer to Class 1 level under the radiation performance standards established by the U.S.DHHS (Department of Health and Human Services) in 1968. This indicates that the product is safe to use during normal operation and maintenance. The laser optical system, enclosed in a protective housing and sealed within the external covers, never permits the laser beam to escape.

2. The CDRH Act

A laser-product-related act was implemented on Aug. 2, 1976, by the Center for Devices and Radiological Health (CDRH) of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). This act prohibits the sale of laser products in the U.S. without certification, and applies to laser products manufactured after Aug. 1, 1976. The label shown below indicates compliance with the CDRH regulations and must be attached to laser products marketed in the United States. On this machine, the label is on the rear.

For safety of the service personnel, follow the maintenance instructions in the other section of this manual.

The power to the laser unit is cut off when the front cover is opened.
