  • Pulp container
  • Instruction manual

TIPS FOR USING THE JUICER

The juicer makes it easy to prepare reshly made vegetable and fruit drinks efficiently. Some fruit and vegetables (e.g. apples, carrots) will not need to be cut, thanks to the extra wide feed opening of the juicer. Simply remove all uneatable parts: Seeds, stalks, stones, or hard paring etc. After juicing you may use the pulp (residues of processed fruit or vegetables) for delicious sauces, soups, desserts or just for the compost in your garden. The appliance is designed for a quick and easy cleaning after juicing fresh fruit, vegetables and herbs.

Do not leave any food residues dry on the surfaces of the appliance. If pulp is left to dry on the filter basket, it may clog the filter mesh. This will decrease the performance of the juicer. In this case soak the filter basket in hot soapy water to remove any dried pulp before using again (see care and cleaning). Do not use any abrasive cleaners or cleaning pads to avoid damage.

BEFORE THE FIRST USE

Carefully read and follow all instructions and safeguards before operating.

Remove all packaging, foils etc.

Place the appliance on a stable, flat and dry surface which is large enough to work without any trouble to eliminate the risk of falling down. Make sure before you assemble any parts that the appliance is not connected to the power supply and the switch is switched OFF (switch position '0'). Before the first use clean all removable parts which come in touch with food in slightly warm and soapy water, rinse and dry. Caution with the filter basket, the blades in the base are extremely sharp! Risk of injury! (See care and cleaning)

Note: Do not use the appliance for chopping, slicing, or shredding of hard foods and nutrients (i.e. nuts or chocolate). Do not use for mincing meat or pureeing.

ASSEMBLING THE JUICER

See the picture at 'list of parts' to get to know your juicer. For assembling refer to picture and following instruction.

Note: Treat your juicer and all parts with care and without using violence. Caution! Risk of injury! the blade inside of the sieve is very sharp! Assemble the appliance correctly and completely before each use!

MIA SP 2003N - ASSEMBLING THE JUICER - 1

Caution! Ensure that the item is switched OFF before connecting the appliance to the mains, to avoid accident by accidentally switching on. The blue lamp indicates connection to mains as long as plugged in.

  • Place the sieve holder on top of the motor base. Press slightly down to fix it properly.
  • Place the pulp container under the pulp outlet. The pulp container has to be positioned exactly under the outlet to guarantee splash protection. Place a juice container under the spout.
  • Insert the stainless steel sieve centered in to the sieve holder. Always take the stainless steel sieve at the rim, to avoid the risk of injury by touching the sharp blades. Rotate the stainless steel sieve until it is seated properly on the gear. Caution! Make sure that the filter basket is mounted properly by rotating it slightly. The basket may not wobble or tilt. The filter basket must rotate easily and without rubbing on the filterbase.

  • Place the pulp container into position. Place the pulp container under the juicer lid so that it fits into the cut out of the motorbase (see picture of list of parts). Push the pulp container into the guidance at the rim of the sieve holder. Position the pulp container before you close the juicer lid.

  • Place the transparent lid over the sieve holder. The lid can only be mounted in one correct position. The filling opening must be centered above the stainless steel sieve. The juicer lid must be placed exactly on the sieve holder to avoid splashing.
  • Close bothsafety bails. They have to be engaged properly - otherwise the appliance will not operate!
  • Align the food pusher into the guiding of the filling opening. The appliance is now ready for use.
  • Wash your fruit and vegetables and remove all uneatable parts. Remove any hard and uneatable parts of the fruit and vegetables before juicing (i.e. stalks, hard paring, stones and seeds).
TIP: Most fruit and vegetables such as apples, carrots and cucumbers will not need to be cut into small pieces, as they will fit into the extra wide filling opening of the juicer. Extereme hard and uneatable parts should be removed. When juicing carrots, put the strait end first into the filling opening.
  • Ensure that the juicer is assembled correctly and the power switch is in the OFF (position '0', see assembling the juicer). Make sure that the juice container is placed direct under the spout and the pulp container is fixed correctly under the juicer lid (see assembling the juicer).
  • Plug the mains plug into the next socket.
  • Switch the power switch to the ON position (I) to start the motor.

MIA SP 2003N - ASSEMBLING THE JUICER - 2

CAUTION: If the motor begins to stall or stick during the operation, immediately switch OFF (position '0') and unplug the appliance (please refer to trouble shoting guide).

WARNING: Always use the food pusher provided to push the food down. Do never insert your hand or other objects into the open filling opening and always keep your face away during operation and when the appliance is connected to the power supply.

  • With the motor running, remove the food pusher and put the prepared food into the filling opening. Do not overfill the filling opening. Gently push down the food. To extract the maximum amount of juice, push down the food slowly without any force.
  • The juice will flow into the juice container and the pulp will concentrate in the pulp container.

MIA SP 2003N - ASSEMBLING THE JUICER - 3

CAUTION: Do not allow the pulp or juice container to overfill because this may cause overflow danger of electric current. To avoid overflow interrupt the extraction and empty the container before it is completely full. (See disassembling the juicer). Switch OFF the appliance (position '0') and wait until the motor has stopped completely. Unplug the appliance and put the container aside.

If you want to start extraction again, replace the pulp container and the juice container under the spout.

After juicing is complete: switch OFF (position '0') and wait until the motor has stopped completely. Always unplug the appliance after having finished the juicing process.

Always clean all removable parts immediately after juicing is complete. (See cleaning and maintenance). Never let food residues dry on the unit or the filter basket or other parts of the unit.

CLEANING AND CARE

MIA SP 2003N - CLEANING AND CARE - 1

Caution! Always switch OFF and unplug the appliance and wait for the motor standstill before cleaning or disassembling. Clean the appliance immediately after each use to avoid tack-drying of food residues.

To avoid any risk of electrical shock do not immerse cord, plug or appliance in water or other liquid. Do not pour or drip any liquids at the motor base or cord and do never place the motor base or power cord in an automatic dishwasher.
