Frequently Asked Questions - CINEMAX P2 OPTOMA

How to install the projector for a sharp image?

Place the projector on a stable and level surface. Use the adjustable foot to adjust the height. The projection distance for a 100" image is approximately 0.23 m. Refer to the distance table on page 56 for more accuracy.

What to do if the image is blurry?

Check the projector/screen distance (page 56). Use the remote control to adjust sharpness via the OSD menu (Settings > Focus). Clean the lens if necessary.

How to connect an HDMI source?

Connect an HDMI cable between the source and one of the projector's HDMI ports. Select the corresponding source on the home screen or via the menu. For ARC audio, use the HDMI 1 (ARC) port.

The projector does not turn on. What to check?

Ensure the power cord is plugged into a working outlet. Check that the red indicator light is on. If the standby mode is 'Eco', use the IR remote. In 'SmartHome' mode, the Bluetooth remote is required.

How to use the projector as a Bluetooth speaker?

Set the standby mode to 'SmartHome'. Press the speaker mode button on the remote. Enable Bluetooth on your device and search for 'Optoma-UHD'. Pair them. The Bluetooth LED blinks then becomes steady.

The colors are not correct. How to adjust them?

Go to OSD menu > Image Settings. You can change the color temperature, gamma, or use BrilliantColor. For fine tuning, use Color Matching (hue, saturation, gain per color).

How to activate 3D?

Ensure the source sends a compatible 3D signal. In the OSD menu > 3D, set 3D Tech to 'DLP-Link' or '3D-Sync' according to your glasses. Choose the appropriate 3D Format (Auto, SBS, Top and Bottom...). Wear compatible 3D glasses.

How to clean the lens?

Turn off the projector and unplug it. Let it cool. Use compressed air to remove dust, then a special cloth to wipe gently. Do not use liquid cleaners or flammable gases.

How to adjust geometric correction?

In the OSD menu > Display > Geometric Correction, enable distortion control. Use distortion calibration to move grid points (2x2, 3x3, 5x5, 9x9). Adjust motion enhancement if necessary.

What multimedia formats are supported?

The projector plays video (H.263, H.264, HEVC, MPEG1/2/4), audio (MP3, AAC, FLAC, AC3), and photo (JPEG, PNG, BMP) files. Connect a USB drive and use the Media Player app. See the full list on pages 50-53.
