How to insert SIM cards and memory card?

Use the provided ejection pin to open the card tray. Insert the SIM cards (nano) and microSD card following the orientation. Make sure the device is turned off before removing or inserting the tray. Do not force to avoid damaging the contacts.

What to do if the device won't turn on?

Press and hold the power button until the device vibrates to force a restart. If that doesn't work, plug in the charger and wait a few minutes before trying again. If the problem persists, contact HONOR customer service.

Can I use two SIM cards at the same time?

Yes, your phone supports dual SIM cards. However, when you are on a call with one card, the other is unavailable. Similarly, if you use mobile data on one card, the other loses its data connection. This helps optimize battery life.

How to reduce radiation exposure?

To reduce exposure, use the phone in areas with good reception (strong signal), prefer using a hands-free kit, and keep the device away from your body. The recommended distance is at least 0.5 cm when carrying the phone on you.

What precautions for pacemaker wearers?

Maintain a distance of at least 15 cm between the phone and the pacemaker. Do not carry the phone in the front pocket on the same side as the pacemaker and hold it to the opposite ear during calls.

What are the recommended accessories?

HONOR recommends using the power adapter HW-059200XHQ, battery HB376994ECW, and earphones 1311-3291, MEMD1632B580C00, EMC309-001 or NA12. Using non-approved accessories may damage the device or cause accidents.

How to recycle my device at end of life?

Do not dispose of the device, battery, or accessories with household waste. Follow local regulations for Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE). Drop them off at an approved collection point or contact your municipality for more information.

How to update the software?

Software updates are released by the manufacturer to fix bugs or improve features. Go to Settings > Software update to check for and install available updates. Make sure you are connected to a Wi-Fi network and have sufficient battery.

Can I use the phone on an airplane?

Using wireless devices is generally prohibited on airplanes. Turn off your phone or enable Airplane mode before boarding and follow crew instructions. Non-compliance may disrupt aircraft networks.

Your device at a glance

Thank you for choosing a Honor 8 Pro smartphone. Before you start, let's take a look at your new device.

• To power on your device, press and hold the power button until your device vibrates and the screen turns on.
• To power off your device, press and hold the power button, and then touch .

• To force your device to restart, press and hold the power button until your device vibrates.

Inserting and removing cards

Follow the instructions in the following figures to set up your device.

• Do not insert or remove the card tray when your device is powered on.
• Ensure that the card is correctly aligned and that the card tray is level when you insert it into your device.

Be careful not to scratch your device or hurt yourself when using the SIM eject pin. Store the SIM eject pin out of the reach of children to prevent accidental swallowing or injury.

Do not use cut or modified SIM or microSD cards with your device as these may not be recognised and could damage the card tray.

Dual card dual standby single pass

Your phone supports dual SIM cards. Both SIM cards are available at the same time when you are not using your phone. However, while one SIM card is active, the other is unavailable. This is known as dual card dual standby single pass.

For example, while you are using SIM card 1's data service, SIM card 2's data service will be disabled. And, while you are on a call using SIM card 1, SIM card 2 will be unavailable. Someone calling SIM card 2 while you are on a call using SIM card 1 will either reach your voicemail or hear a message such as "The person you called cannot be reached at the moment. Please try later." The message heard will vary depending on service provider.

Your phone's single pass feature helps reduce power consumption and increase standby time.

Contact your service provider for information about subscribing to notification services.

• To prevent possible hearing damage, do not listen at high volume levels for long periods.

• Keep the device and the battery away from excessive heat and direct sunlight. Do not place them on or in heating devices, such as microwave ovens, stoves or radiators.
• Adhere to local laws and regulations while using the device. To reduce the risk of accidents, do not use your device while driving.

• While flying in an aircraft or immediately before boarding, ensure that you use your device according to the instructions provided. Using a wireless device in an aircraft may disrupt wireless networks, present a hazard to aircraft operations or be illegal under law.

• To prevent damage to your device's parts or internal circuits, do not use it in dusty, smoky, damp or dirty environments or near magnetic fields.

• When charging the device, make sure the power adapter is plugged into a socket near the devices and is easily accessible.
• Unplug the charger from the electric socket and from the device when not in use.

Potentially Explosive Atmosphere

Power off your device in any area with a potentially explosive atmosphere, and comply with all signs and instructions. Areas that may have potentially explosive atmospheres include the areas where you would normally be advised to turn off your vehicle engine. Triggering of sparks in such areas could cause an explosion or a fire, resulting in bodily injuries or even deaths. Do not power on your device at refueling points such as service stations. Comply with restrictions on the use of radio equipment

in fuel depots, storage, and distribution areas, and chemical plants. In addition, adhere to restrictions in areas where blasting operations are in progress. Before using the device, watch out for areas that have potentially explosive atmospheres that are often, but not always, clearly marked.
