This speaker is designed for indoor and outdoor use. For prolonged exposure to sun or weather, it is recommended to install it under an eave in summer and remove it in winter.

How to mount the speaker on the wall?

Use the supplied metal bracket with silent blocks. Remove the knobs, pass the cable through the wall, fix the bracket to the wall with screws, then reposition the speaker on the bracket and tighten the knobs. Orient the speaker towards the listening area.

What cable to use and how to connect?

Use a suitable speaker cable. Respect polarity: connect the '+' to the positive output of the amplifier and '-' to the negative terminal.

What amplifier power is recommended?

Focal recommends an amplifier of 25 to 150 watts to fully exploit the speaker's performance.

Is the speaker water-resistant?

Yes, it is designed for outdoor use with a tropicalized Polyglass cone and a perforated aluminum grille. However, avoid direct and prolonged exposure to weather.

Run the speakers for about twenty hours at medium level on standard music programs rich in bass. This stabilizes mechanical characteristics and optimizes performance.

How to clean the speaker?

Use a soft, dry cloth. Avoid solvents or abrasive products. For the grille, light dusting is sufficient.

Installation

Loosen the two knobs. Remove the bracket from speaker (pic.A). Run the appropriate gauge wire from your amplifier (pic. B). Mount the C-bracket to the wall surface by running screws through the holes located in the bracket (pic.C).

Install the speaker into the C-bracket. Turn the bracket knobs into the cabinet. Point the speaker toward the listening area (pic.D). You must respect the connector polarity of both loudspeaker and amplifier. The positive terminal "+" must be connected to the corresponding amplifier terminal and the negative terminal "-" to the negative terminal (pic.E).

Running-in period

The drivers used in the Chorus V loudspeaker are complex mechanical devices and require a run-in period before they deliver their best performance. They must get adapted to the temperature and humidity conditions of their environment. This breaking-in period depends on the encountered conditions and can last several weeks. In order to shorten this period, we advise you to let your loudspeakers operate for about twenty hours at medium level, playing standard musical programmes, but with a large amount of bass. Once the components of the loudspeakers are completely stabilized, it is possible to enjoy the real performance of your Chorus V loudspeakers.

Conditions of guarantee

All Focal-JMlab loudspeakers are covered by guarantee drawn up by the official Focal-JMlab distributor in your country. Your distributor can provide all details concerning the conditions of guarantee. Guarantee cover extends at least to that granted by the legal guarantee in force in the country where the original purchase invoice was issued.

Warning!

Long sun and/or bad weather exposure can damage your loudspeakers.

We recommend that you place your OD 706 V loudspeakers under a penthouse in summer and to remove them in winter.
