Intended Use
This product is intended for decorative purposes in indoor and outdoor areas in domestic households. This product is not intended for illumination purposes or for commercial or industrial applications.
Important safety instructions
To avoid life-threatening electric shocks:
- Protect the rope light from damages: NEVER force any objects of any type through the rope light. Do not use pointed or sharp objects for affixing. Do not bind the rope light to movable objects, for example doors and windows. Do not suspend any additional items from the rope light. Do not bend the rope light.
- Should the rope light become damaged, immediately remove the plug from the wall socket. Then arrange for the appliance to be checked by Customer Services.
- Ensure that the power plug NEVER comes into contact with water or other liquids. Should you place the rope light outdoors, select a suitably weather-protected wall socket or use a waterproof extension cable. If you are in any way unsure about it, consult a specialist.

Ensure that the plug is at all times easily accessible so that it may be swiftly removed in the event of danger.

When in use, ensure that the power cable cannot become jammed/trapped or damaged in any way. Place it such that no one can trip or stumble over it. Do not burden the power cable with pulling forces, do not tension it.
- Should the power cable or the power plug become damaged, arrange for these to be replaced by Customer Service before continuing to use the appliance.
- Ensure that the plug is removed from the wall socket before attaching or removing the rope light.
- Do not position the power cable or the extension cable in snow. Melt-water as well as freezing-up and sharp ice crystals can impair the safety of the power cable.
- After use or during extended absences, ALWAYS remove the plug from the power socket. For as long as the plug is inserted in the wall socket the appliance itself is under electrical power.
To avoid the risks of fire:
- Should it still be in its packaging, do not connect the appliance to a wall socket. This would lead to a build-up of heat.
DO NOT place the appliance under inflammable objects, especially not under straw stars, paper, curtains or drapes.
To avoid the risk of accidents and personal injuries:
- Position the power cable in such a way that the appliance cannot be pulled down by it.
- This appliance is not intended for use by individuals (including children) with restricted physical, physiological or intellectual abilities or deficiencies in experience and/or knowledge unless they are supervised by a person responsible for their safety or receive from this person instruction in how the appliance is to be used. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

Utilisation
- Check to ensure that the rope light is undamaged and all parts and remnants of the packaging are removed from it.

Suspend the rope light from a round or soft fastening element so that the rope light cannot be damaged. Take into consideration thereby not only the own weight of the appliance but also the possible additional weight of an extension cable. It can also happen that the fabric parts of the appliance become saturated through rain or moisture and thus increase the weight additionally.

When positioning the rope light outdoors ensure that it cannot fall into areas subject to traffic, e.g. access drives, footpaths or roads. If necessary, provide additional binding.
- Insert the power plug into a wall socket. The light rope now emits light.
Cleaning
Caution!
Always remove the plug from the wall socket before dismantling or cleaning the light rope.
- Clean the appliance only with a dry or lightly moistened cloth. Do not use abrasives or detergents, these could damage the plastic surfaces.
- First allow the Father Christmas decoration to dry completely before placing it into storage. Doing this will avoid the creation of mould caused by moisture that has perhaps penetrated it.
Maintenance
The rope light is maintenance-free, no effort is required on the part of the user.
- Do not open the housings of the appliance - there are no user-serviceable elements contained inside.
- The rope light cannot be repaired. If it becomes damaged, dispose of it.
- Before taking it into use, check the rope light for visible exterior damage.

Do not dispose of the appliance in your normal domestic waste. This product is subject to the European guideline 2002/96/EC.
Dispose of the appliance through an approved disposal centre or at your community waste facility. Observe the currently applicable regulations. In case of doubt, please contact your waste disposal centre.

Dispose of all packaging materials in an environmentally friendly manner.

Warranty & Service
The warranty for this appliance is for 3 years from the date of purchase. The appliance has been manu-factured with care and meticulously examined before delivery. Please retain your receipt as proof of purchase. In the case of a warranty claim, please make contact by telephone with our service department. Only in this way can a post-free despatch for your goods be assured.
The warranty covers only claims for material and manufacturing defects, not for wearing parts or for damage to fragile components. This product is for private use only and is not intended for commercial use.
The warranty is void in the case of abusive and improper handling, use of force and internal tampering not carried out by our authorized service branch.
Your statutory rights are not restricted in any way by this warranty.
