How to turn on the HT-8800 fan?

Plug the cord into a 120 V outlet. Press the control button: once for high speed (III), twice for medium (II), three times for low (I). A fourth time to turn off.

Can I use this fan outdoors?

No, this fan is designed for indoor household use only. Do not use outdoors or in a damp environment.

How to clean the fan grille?

Unplug the unit. Turn it upside down. Remove the 4 Phillips screws around the front grille. Clean the grille with a soft damp cloth (no water in the motor). Reassemble by gently tightening the screws.

What to do if the fan does not run?

Check that the plug is fully inserted into a working outlet. Make sure the control button is not in the off (O) position. If the problem persists, contact Kaz customer service. Do not attempt to open the motor yourself.

Can the fan be used on a table?

No, this model is designed for floor use only. Do not place it on a table or desk.

How to store the power cord?

The fan is equipped with a built-in cord wrap under the base. Wrap the cord around this wrap for convenient storage.

What is the warranty of the HT-8800?

This fan has a limited 5-year warranty (model HT-8800BPC) against defects in materials and workmanship. The warranty does not cover normal wear or damage from misuse.

Can I use a transistorized speed control with this fan?

No. Using a transistorized control may cause fire or electric shock. Use only the built-in button.

Can the fan be tilted?

Yes, manually adjust the angle of the fan head to the desired position. Tighten well so it stays in place.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

READ AND SAVE THESE SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING THIS FAN

When using electrical appliances, basic precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and injury to persons, including the following:

1. Use this fan only as described in this manual. Other use not recommended may cause fire, electric shock or injury to persons.
2. This product is intended for household use ONLY and not for commercial, industrial or outdoor use.
3. To protect against electric shock, do not place fan in window, immerse unit, plug or cord in water or spray with liquids.
4. This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the risk of shock, this plug is intended to fit only one way in a polarized outlet. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. DO NOT attempt to defeat this safety feature.
5. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
6. Turn the fan to the OFF position and unplug the fan from the outlet when not in use, when moving the fan from one location to another, before cleaning and before removing the fan grille.

1. To disconnect the fan, first turn control to the OFF position, grip the plug and pull it from the wall outlet. Never pull by the cord.
2. Do not operate the fan in the presence of explosive and/or flammable fumes.
3. Do not place the fan or any parts near an open flame, cooking or other heating appliance.
4. Do not operate the fan with a damaged cord or plug or if the product malfunctions, is dropped or damaged in any manner (see warranty).
5. Avoid contact with moving fan parts.
6. The use of attachments not recommended by the manufacturer may be hazardous.
7. Place the fan on a dry level surface.
8. Do not operate if the fan housing is removed or damaged. Do not operate the fan if the grille is removed or not properly assembled.
9. Do not operate on desktops or tabletops. This fan is intended for use on floors only.
10. A loose fit between the AC outlet (receptacle) and plug may cause overheating and a distortion of the plug. Contact a qualified electrician to replace a loose or worn outlet.

Upon using this fan, you will feel a strong and powerful air stream that will quickly move air in order to cool an area rapidly and efficiently.

Circulate cool air by using with window or central air conditioning.

In the winter:

Circulate warm air. Position your air circulator in an open location for upward air movement. Run it on a low setting to move the hotter air from the ceiling and circulate the warmer air throughout the room.

Increase Heating Source Efficiency: Use with other heat sources, such as wood stoves, baseboard heaters, and or vents to help circulate the warm air throughout the room.

Be sure the fan is in the OFF position.

• Place your fan on a dry, level surface.
• Plug the power cord into a polarized 120 volt AC wall outlet.
• To operate your Tech Fan, press the control button once to turn the fan on in high speed (III), press a second time to change to medium speed (II), press a third time to change fan to the low speed (I), press a fourth time to turn the fan off (Fig. 2a & 2b).
• Adjust the fan to the desired position (Fig. 3).
• To move the fan, turn the fan OFF and pick it up by the handle (Fig. 4).

• Be sure the fan is in the OFF position.
• Place your fan on a dry, level surface.
• Plug the power cord into a polarized 120 volt AC wall outlet.
• Each fan is independently operated. To operate the fans, turn the control knob to the desired fan speed: HT-9700 series-2 speeds, High (II) or Low (I) or HT-8800 series-3 speeds, High (III), Medium (II), or Low (I) (Fig. 5).
• Adjust the fans to the desired position (Fig. 6).
• To move the fan, turn the fan OFF (O) and pick it up by the reach through handle (Fig. 7).

CLEANING AND STORAGE

Unplug the fan before cleaning.

• These fans are equipped with a cord wrap feature for storage on the bottom of the fan (Fig. 8).
• Use only a soft, damp cloth to gently wipe the fan clean.
• DO NOT immerse the fan in water and never allow water to drip into the motor housing.
• DO NOT use gasoline, paint thinner or other chemicals to clean the fan.

REMOVAL OF THE FRONT GRILLE FOR CLEANING

DO NOT remove the fan grille unless the fan's power is turned off and the power cord is unplugged.

• Gently lay the fan face down on a table (Fig. 9).
• Remove the front grille by unscrewing the screws located on the back of the fan head using a standard phillips head screw driver.

NOTE: The screws will remain attached to the rear housing to ensure they are not lost. Do not try to force the removal of the screws.

• Lift the rear housing by the handle to separate from the front grille.
• Re-assemble the fan by replacing the front grille and aligning the screw holes between the front grille and the fan body. Gently tighten the screws.
• For storage, clean the fan carefully as instructed. Store the fan in the original packaging or cover the product to protect it from dust.
