IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS DO NOT DESTROY

WARNING: Follow instructions carefully. Misuse can cause severe burns.

1. Do not heat this product with any means other than a microwave oven.
2. This product could be permanently damaged if heated for more than double the guideline times. This could affect the warranty.
3. If overheated, your Pad will be too hot to touch. Allow it to cool before removing from the microwave. Check if the Pad has been damaged. If there is any sign of damage, do not use the product. It should be discarded.
4. Do not use while sleeping. Do not allow children to use or heat this product unless under supervision of an adult. Do not use on an unconscious person.
5. Do not use this product with liniment, salve or ointment preparations that contain heat-producing ingredients. Skin burns could result.
6. This product should not be used by diabetics, or by any person who may be insensitive to the application of direct heat to the skin's surface, or persons with any skin disorder. If in doubt, consult your doctor before use.
7. This product will produce moisture. Do not use it resting against your furniture etc., as the pad will make the surface wet.
8. CAUTION: Do not exceed 30 minutes per application. Recommended treatment time is 10-30 minutes.
9. Check the treatment area every 10 minutes to help prevent burns or frostbite.
10. Always consult your physician before beginning any hot or cold therapy.
11. If pain doesn't improve or becomes more severe or if new symptoms occur, consult your physician immediately.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

CAUTION: Follow these instructions carefully. Misuse can cause severe burns. Overheating the SoftHeat Pad in a microwave can damage or destroy product.

Before heating, the SoftHeat Pad should be at room temperature. If you store the SoftHeat Pad in the freezer, follow instructions for HEATING FROM THE FREEZER below.

Heating Instructions

1. Make sure the microwave oven is completely clean and free of any food debris or fluids.
2. Place the SoftHeat Pad in your microwave oven without the cover.
3. In a 1,000+ Watt microwave, heat for 1 1/2 minutes.
4. When heated, place the SoftHeat Pad in the cover and place it over the area of treatment.

Heating From Freezer

Place Moist Heat Pad in microwave at DEFROST setting or 30% power level for 3-5 minutes. Allow to stand 5 minutes, then follow normal heating instructions.

Reheating From Warm

If reheating while still warm, heat for only 1 minute and if more heat is needed, heat only for a further 30 seconds. The time for reheating from warm should not be more than 1 1/2 minutes in total.

Cold Usage

1. Place your SoftHeat Pad in a refrigerator or freezer inside a sealed plastic bag.
2. Allow 2 to 3 hours in the refrigerator or freezer before use.
3. Wrap SoftHeat Pad in a towel or use the cover supplied and place on the area of treatment.

Q: Why use moist heat therapy?

A: Therapeutic microbeads is the name for beads that are designed to produce moist heat. The beads absorb moisture from the air and release it as clean, deep-penetrating, moist heat when heated in the microwave oven.

Microbeads are odor-free, dust free, and will stay mold and mildew free. Unlike grain and pellet products, Microbeads will not dry out, dissolve, or develop odors.

Q: My SoftHeat Pad has been slightly soiled in the microwave, how do I wash it?
A: The surface of the pad may be cleaned using a mild cleanser and a damp cloth. If the SoftHeat Pad absorbs an excessive amount of water from washing or immersing in water, it will not function and produce moist heat.
Q: Can I place the SoftHeat Pad in the microwave with the cover?
A: No. Do not put the cover in the microwave with your SoftHeat Pad.
Q: How long should the therapy last?
A: The usual recommended hot and cold therapy is 10 to 30 minutes at a time with 2 to 3 hours in between each therapy. The area should be checked every 10 minutes to help prevent severe burns or frostbite.
