CAUTIONS

READ ALL THESE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE USING THIS PRODUCT.

• Make sure that the voltage rating on the type plate corresponds to your main voltage.
• Never leave the appliance unsupervised when in use.
• Keep out of children or incompetent persons. Do not allow them to play with the appliance.
• This appliance should not be used by people (and children) whose physical, sensorial or mental capacities are reduced, or without experience and knowledge, except if a person responsible for their security can supervise or give preliminary instructions for product use.
• Only use the appliance for domestic purposes and in the way indicated in these instructions.
• Never immerse the product in water or any liquid for any reasons. This appliance must be placed in a dry environment.
• Do not use if you have wet hands.
• Place the appliance on a plane and steady surface.
• Never use the appliance on or near hot surfaces.
• Never move or unplug the appliance by pulling the cord.
• Before storing or cleaning the appliance, make sure that it is unplugged from the power supply and that it is completely cooled.
• Make sure the cord never comes into contact with the hot parts of the appliance.
• The cord length of this product has been designed to reduce the risk of fall. If needed, an extension cord may be used. Do not let it hung over the working area and make sure no-one can accidentally trip over it.
• Only use accessories supplied with the appliance and recommended by White&Brown. The kettle can only be used with the stand provided.
• From time to time, check the cord for damages. Never use the appliance if cord or appliance show any sign of damage.
• All interventions made by a non-qualified person can be dangerous; in this case guarantee conditions would cancel. As all electrical products, a competent electrician must repair it.

Specific recommendation

• Only use fresh drinking water.
• While water is boiling or just after boiling, avoid contact with steam evaporating from the spout. Pour boiling water slowly and carefully without tipping the kettle too fast.
• Do not refill if the kettle is hot. Allow the jug to cool before using.
• Always ensure the lid is closed and do not lift it while the water is boiling. Scalding may occur, causing serious burn.
• Do not overfill the kettle as boiling water may spill out.

OPERATION

Before using the kettle for the first time, it is recommended to clean it by boiling a full kettle of water twice. Then empty and wipe the surface with a damp cloth.

• Remove the kettle from the power base.
• Open lid by pressing open lid button (top of the handle).

• Fill with the desired quantity of fresh drinking water. The water level should not exceed max. level or sit below the min. level.
• Ensure that the lid is firmly closed.

• Replace the kettle on the power base.
• Connect the plug to the power outlet.
• Press down the ON/OFF switch at the back of the kettle. The water level illuminates blue.
• The kettle automatically switches off once the water has boiled.
• Lift the kettle from the power base and pour the water slowly.

Should you accidentally let the kettle operate without water, the boil-dry protection would automatically switch off the power.

If this occurs, allow the kettle to cool before filling with cold water and re-boiling.

MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING

• Before cleaning, unplug the appliance and let it cool completely.
• Wipe the outside with a soft damp cloth.
• Do not use abrasive or chemical products which may deteriorate the housing.
• Never immerse the kettle, power base and cord in water or other liquid.

DESCALING

• To protect your kettle and ensure its constant efficiency, your kettle should be periodically descaled.
• You can use the commercially available descaler or alternatively, you can use white vinegar.

In this case:

• Fill the kettle with 3 cups of white vinegar and add water.
• Leave the solution in the kettle overnight. Then empty.
• Fill the kettle with clean water, boil and empty. Repeat several times until the odor of vinegar has been flushed away.
• Remaining stains can be removed with a damp cloth.

Do not dispose of this product in the usual household garbage at the end of its life cycle; hand it over a collection point for the recycling of electrical and electronic appliances. The symbol on the product, the instructions for use or the packing will inform about the methods of disposal.

The materials are recyclable as mentioned in its marking. By recycling or others forms of reutilization of old appliances, you are making an important contribution to protect our environment.
