How to connect the E4 5000 VA UPS to the mains?
The UPS is connected to a grounded wall outlet. It is recommended to use a 300 mA selective differential circuit breaker upstream. Connection must be carried out by qualified personnel.
Which devices can I connect to the UPS output?
Connect computer equipment (computers, servers) to the output sockets. Avoid inductive devices such as laser printers or heaters, which may cause overload.
How to start the UPS?
Ensure the input circuit breaker is in the ON position. Press the ON button (red) on the front panel for more than one second. The UPS performs a self-test then switches to normal mode.
What to do in case of a mains failure?
The UPS automatically switches to battery. A beep sounds every 4 seconds. You can silence the alarm by pressing the ON button. Save your data quickly; autonomy depends on the load.
How to completely shut down the UPS?
Press the OFF button (green) for more than one second. In mains mode, the UPS switches to BY-PASS. To cut the output, open the input circuit breaker or unplug the power cord.
How long do the batteries last and how to replace them?
Batteries last 3 to 5 years at 25°C. Replacement must be carried out by a qualified technician and only with batteries of the same type and in the same number.
Can I use a generator with this UPS?
Yes, provided the generator power is at least three times greater than that of the UPS. Start the generator first, wait for it to stabilize, then start the UPS.
How to monitor the UPS remotely?
The UPS is equipped with an RS232 interface and an intelligent slot for an AS400 or SNMP card. Use the provided UPSurf-Control software for monitoring and automatic shutdown of systems.
What do the indicators on the front panel mean?
The ON LINE indicator (green) indicates mains presence. INVERTER (green) indicates that the output is powered by the UPS. BAT. (orange) indicates battery mode. DEFAULT (red) indicates an anomaly. Indicators 2 to 6 indicate the load level or battery status.
Why is the audible alarm continuous?
A continuous alarm may indicate an overload, short circuit or internal fault. Refer to the incident table in the manual. If the DEFAULT indicator is on, contact after-sales service.
