How long does it take for my SA comet speakers to sound their best?

The speakers need a break-in period of at least 50 hours of use before the sound is fully optimized. No special precautions are necessary during this time.

Can I mount the SA comet or SA comet AV on the wall?

Yes, these speakers are acoustically optimized for wall mounting. For the SA comet AV, use at least 2 screws and turn the keyhole brackets to face the right direction. Attach the rubber feet to the back to prevent vibrations.

What is the best placement for bass performance?

Place the speakers within 20 cm (8 inches) of a solid wall or large flat surface for proper bass. Avoid placing them freely in the room, as they will not deliver sufficient bass. For SA FS3 stands, keep them within 8 inches of a wall.

How do I connect the speakers to my amplifier?

Turn off the amplifier/receiver before connecting. Ensure correct polarity: the red socket is positive (+). Connect the positive and negative cables from the amp to the corresponding terminals on the speakers, and double-check left/right channels.

What color options are available for customizing the speakers?

Front grille: white, grey, or black. Deco ring: white, grey, black, or red. Available real wood veneer deco rings in maple or cherry. Standard: black paint with black grille and grey deco ring; white paint with white grille and grey deco ring.

How do I remove and change the front grille and deco ring?

Grasp behind the deco ring and pull gently away from the speaker. Place the grille upside down on a magazine, remove the 14 screws, swap the ring and/or grille, reassemble with the screws, and press the grille back into place.

What does the warranty cover?

System Audio offers a 2-year guarantee against manufacturing defects and a 5-year guarantee on speaker units and crossover networks. Misuse is not covered, and modifications void the warranty. Repairs are done by your dealer or an associated workshop.

How should I clean my speakers?

Use a damp cloth squeezed firmly to clean the surface; avoid detergent. The front grille can be cleaned with a vacuum cleaner using a brush-head. For the speaker unit, gently brush dust away with a soft paintbrush.

Are the speakers magnetically shielded?

Yes, both the SA comet and SA comet AV are magnetically shielded, suitable for placement near TVs and other screens without causing interference.

Can I use the SA comet speakers in a home theater system?

Yes, the speakers are multipurpose and ideal for home cinema as center, front, or rear speakers. They also work well in stereo systems, with or without a subwoofer.

check the serial number

The serial number is printed on a sticker on the back of the speaker. You may wish to note the serial number down on your invoice and file it along with your insurance policy. Please contact your dealer if there is no serial number on the speaker.

IMPORTANT!

Always let the product reach room temperature before plugging it in. Condensation may be generated in the electronic circuitry when moving the speaker from cold to warm surroundings. This moisture can damage the speaker's components. Never use the product in damp settings. Avoid touching the speaker elements.

SA comet and SA comet AV are multipurpose speakers. They are suitable for stereo systems with or without subwoofer. In a home cinema, they can be used either as centre, front or rear speaker.

The speakers are specially designed for best performance on a wall or large flat horizontal surfaces such as a shelf, a table, a bookshelf, or similar. When mounted on SA FS3 speaker stands the best bass performance is obtained when placing the stands within 8 inches in front of a solid wall.

Please note that:

• SA comet and SA comet AV are acoustically optimised for wall mounting or similar and will not have sufficient bass if suspended freely in the room. It is important for the sound quality that there is a large surface close to the speakers (within 8 inches)
• if SA comet or SA comet AV are placed on a smooth underlay, the accompanying rubber feet should be positioned on the bottom of the cabinets as there own vibration may cause the speakers to move
• if the speaker is wall mounted, the rubber feet should be attached to the back of the cabinet to avoid vibration between speaker and wall
• if the SA comet AV is to be mounted on a wall use at least 2 screws! Turn the brackets on the rear of the speaker, so the keyholes are facing the right direction. Simply unscrew the 4 small screws on the rear, turn the brackets and mount again with the screws.

• når SA comet AV ophænges på en væg, er det vigtigt at montere den på min. 2 skruer! Drej evt. nøglehulsbeslagene på højttalerens bagside, så hullerne vender med den smalle del opad. Udtag de 4 små skruer, drej beslaget og monter igen med skruerne.

Check that the cables are properly attached. Be extremely careful that the phase is correct on the speaker connections. This means that cables attached to plus (+) or minus (-) on the amplifier/receiver, must also be attached to plus (+) or minus (-) on the speakers. On SA speakers, the positive pole is indicated by a red socket.

Follow the speaker cables to make sure that the right and left channels (and the centre and rear channels where appropriate) are attached correctly.

changing the front grille and deco ring

• It's easy to detach the front grill and deco ring. Grab around the back of the deco ring with your fingers and pull gently away from the speaker.
• Place the front grill upside down on a magazine (or similar) to protect the logo. Unscrew the 14 screws on the backside of the decorating.
• Change the decorating or/and the front grille to your preferred colours.
• Mount the decorating to the front grill using the 14 screws.
• Push the front grill back in place on the loudspeaker.

maintenance

Clean the surface of the speaker with a firmly wrung damp clothe. Do not use detergent as it may damage the finish. The front grille is easily removed together with the decorating by a slight movement away form the speaker and is best cleaned by a vacuum cleaner with a brush-head attached. Do not use a vacuum cleaner to remove dust from the speaker unit. Brush it away gently with a soft paintbrush.
