Description
Our new “J” series is a highly technologically advanced range of products aimed to improve the performance of the previous line “JOLLY”. The “J” range is based on the development of three new highly efficient Class D amplifiers, completely designed at FBT’s R&D laboratories and featuring the following wattage: 80W+40W for J5A model, 200W+50W for J8A, 350W+100W for J12A and J15A models.
It is a polypropylene bi amplified speaker with 15" woofer and DSP technology; its control panel features a two channe mixer. "J" loudspeakers have been completely re-designed taking advantage of the developments of the last years, for achieving improved efficiency and linear response.
Thanks to its versatility, the “J” series is recommended for band PA, personal monitors, small theatres and auditoriums, piano bars, DJs, stage monitors and fixed installations in live clubs, pubs and gyms.

XLR connections
The XLR connection is a type of balanced connection that allows the connection of devices over long distances without loss of quality due to the background noise detected. This is made possible by the presence, as well as by the mass (pin 1), of two cables: a signal cable (pin 2) and a 180° dephased signal cable (pin 3); at the opposite end of the signal source, on both these cables, in addition to the actual signal, the same quantity and type of background noise possibly detected along the path or inevitably produced by the cables (not the one for thermal agitation) will be present in phase. The signal will then be taken from the two cables by difference: in this way the useful part will be double amplitude while the noise detected or produced along the path, being present in phase on both cables, will be cancelled by the difference operation. In the three-pin version it is normally used for the termination of balanced audio lines but it is often also used for unbalanced signals creating a short circuit between the mass and the cold pin. The EIA RS-297-A standard requires that the three-pin XLR connectors for balanced audio are wired as shown in fig.

NEUTRIK XLR/JACK - Combo

Speakon
Speakon connectors are connected in parallel mode. One connector can be used to connect the box to the output of a power amplifier, the other to connect to a second box. Loudspeaker cables shall have the adequate diameter, depending on the overall lenght of the connection. The resistance introduced by an inadequate wiring towards the loudspeakers would reduce both the power output and the damping factor of the loudspeaker. Speakon is a connector which is specially adapted for connecting power terminals to loudspeakers; when inserted in an appropriate socket it locks so as to prevent accidental disconnection; moreover, it is equipped with protection against electrical shocks and guarantees correct polarisation.
Jack
The Jacks are typical connectors for the transporting of two separate signals through two channels, left and right, using a single connector and therefore they can be either mono or stereo. Mono jack (TS) also known as unbalanced jacks, are recognisable from stereo or balanced jacks (TRS) by their composition. The point of the mono jacks is divided into two parts, tip and ground (Tip and Slave) to which the two poles are connected; the stereo or balanced jacks are divided in three parts, as they have a central ring (Ring) which is connected to a second wire, the third (negative) pole.

Connection cables - BALANCED

On model «J 5" jack socket (A) and terminals (B) are connected in parallel. Either the jack or the terminals musi be used lo connect the speaker lo the output of a power amplifier or a mixer with built-in amplifier. Use the remaining connection to hook up a second system.
The «J 5T» model is equipped with a line transformer. Therefore, the power amplifier must feature constant 100V or 70V voltage outputs. The loudspeakers, connected in parallel to the amplifier output, will make it easy to amplify the system deriving from any of the speakers installed previously, if necessary; in the same manner loudspeakers which are no longer necessary can be eliminateci. In the connections, the «phase» both ofthe individuai speakerto its transformer and the in-parallel connection of speakers must be respected.
The input voltage of the speaker must correspond to the output voltage of the amplifier; the sum total of the rated power outputs of all the speakers connected to the line must not exceed that of the amplifier. Before any connection adjust the input voltage and output power by acting on the two selectors (C).

Warning

- The installation of J SERIES acoustic speakers, using the suspension accessories described in this manual and the specific installation instructions, must be carried out exclusively by qualified personnel in full compliance with the rules and safety standards in force in the country where the installation takes place.
- The suspension accessories from FBT are designed exclusively for use with J SERIES systems and have not been designed for use in combination with any other speaker or device.
- Every element of the ceiling, wall, or other support where a J SERIES system is installed or hung must be able to support the load safely.
- All speakers hung in workplaces and/or entertainment venues, in addition to the main suspension system, must be equipped with an independent secondary safety system and adequate load capacity.
- For fixed installations, regular and specific inspections should always be planned and carried out to verify all parts that must ensure the safety of the system over time.
⚠ WARNING | FBT Electronic SpA is not responsible for any damages to persons or property in case of failure to comply with these instructions or failure to verify the safety factor of all elements involved in suspending the system.
- The J SERIES speakers must be suspended only using original accessories.
- When choosing the installation location, suspension cable, and mounting supports, ensure they are all capable of supporting the weight of the speaker and suspension accessories with an appropriate safety factor.
- For fixed installations, always plan and carry out regular and specific inspections to verify all parts that must ensure the safety of the system over time.
- Never suspend the speakers using the handles; the handles are designed for transporting the speaker, not for suspension.
- Never hang onto or cling to the speaker when it is in a suspended configuration.
⚠ WARNING | For suspending J SERIES models, exclusively use FBT mounting supports. Using other mounting supports may cause dangerous instability with possible harm to people and property.
⚠ WARNING | To prevent harm to people and property, it is essential to equip the system with safety cables (provided) when the speaker is wall-mounted. Carefully select the area where you install the speakers; ensure the structure is adequate to support the weight of the speaker.

Product specifications

Where affixed on the equipment or package, the barred waste bin sign indicates that the product must be separated from other waste at the end of its working life for disposal. At the end of use, the user must deliver the product to a suitable recycling centre or return it to the dealer when purchasing a new product. Adequate dispo-

sal of the decommissioned equipment for recycling, treatment and environmentally compatible disposal contributes in preventing potentially negative effects on the environment and health and promotes the reuse and/or recycling of equipment materials. Abusive product disposal by the user is punishable by law with administrative sanctions.

Check the instructions of your municipality. Separate the components and disposal them properly.
