Frequently Asked Questions - KH 2284 EBENCH

How to set the time on the KH 2284 radio alarm clock?
Hold down the TIME SET button, then press the HOUR and MINUTE buttons until the desired time appears on the display.
How to set the alarm?
Press the ALARM, HOUR and MINUTE buttons simultaneously until the desired alarm time appears. Then set the function switch to BUZZER for an audible alarm or AUTO to wake up to the radio.
How to use the sleep function (fall asleep to music)?
Press the SLEEP button. The default duration of 0:59 is displayed. To decrease it, hold this button and press MINUTE. To increase it (max 1:59), hold SLEEP and press HOUR. To disable, press the snooze button.
What to do in case of a power failure?
Insert a 9 V battery into the compartment (see illustration) to retain the time and alarm settings. During a power cut, the display turns off but the internal clock continues thanks to the battery. When power returns, the correct time is displayed automatically. Note that the radio and alarm do not work on battery.
How to improve radio reception?
For FM, fully extend the floating antenna and orient it for best reception. For AM, the device has a built-in ferrite antenna that is very sensitive; simply turn the device to pick up the waves.
How to clean the radio alarm clock?
Always unplug the device from the mains before cleaning. Use a dry, soft cloth. Never use cleaning products as they could damage the casing.
What safety precautions should I observe?
Do not expose the device to water, humidity or heat sources. Do not use if damaged (device or cable). Never open the casing as dangerous voltages are present inside. For any repairs, contact after-sales service.
What to do if the device does not turn on?
Check that the power cord is properly plugged into a working mains socket (220-230 V). Ensure the function switch is not set to OFF. If the device remains off, there may be an internal fault; contact after-sales service.
How to stop the alarm before the end of its cycle?
You can temporarily interrupt the alarm by pressing the snooze button – it will sound again after 9 minutes. To turn it off completely, set the function switch to OFF. If you set it back to AUTO, the alarm will trigger again the next day at the same time.
Can I use the radio on batteries?
No, the radio and alarm only work on mains power. The 9 V battery is only a backup system to keep the time and settings in case of a power cut. The LED display also turns off when the device runs on battery.
