Frequently Asked Questions - 18690OG-MN AEG

How do I adjust the temperature on my AEG 18690OG-MN refrigerator?
Press the temperature setting button located on the external display. Each press cycles through the available temperature ranges. The recommended setting for the refrigerator is 4°C and for the freezer -18°C. The display will show the current temperature; after a few seconds, the new setting is saved.
Can I change the door opening direction on this model?
Yes, the door is reversible. You will need a screwdriver and a wrench. Remove the upper hinge cover, detach the door, and then reattach it on the opposite side. The manual includes step-by-step diagrams. Always unplug the appliance before starting.
How often should I defrost the freezer?
This model features Frost Free technology, so manual defrosting is not required. The appliance automatically defrosts and evaporates the water. However, if you notice ice buildup, check that the door seals are intact and avoid leaving the door open for extended periods.
What is the proper way to clean my refrigerator?
Unplug the appliance and remove all food items. Use a soft cloth with lukewarm water and a mild dishwashing detergent to clean the interior shelves and walls. Avoid abrasive cleaners, sharp objects, and solvents. Wipe the door seals regularly to ensure a tight closure. After cleaning, dry with a soft towel and plug the appliance back in.
Why is my refrigerator making unusual noises?
Normal sounds include a soft hum from the compressor, a gentle bubbling from the refrigerant, and occasional clicks when the appliance starts or stops. If you hear a loud vibration, check that the appliance is level and that the rear coils are not touching the wall. If the noise persists, contact customer service.
How can I improve energy efficiency?
Place the refrigerator away from heat sources and direct sunlight. Set the recommended temperatures (4°C and -18°C). Avoid frequent and prolonged door openings. Regularly clean the condenser coils and check door seals. Additionally, let hot food cool before placing it inside.
What does the 'Fast Freeze' function do?
The Fast Freeze function rapidly lowers the temperature in the freezer to -24°C for about 24 hours. This is ideal when you add a large amount of fresh food and want to preserve their quality. Activate it, let it run for 24 hours, and then it will automatically switch back to the normal setting.
Is there a holiday mode? How does it work?
Yes, the Holiday Mode reduces energy consumption while you are away. It keeps the refrigerator at a slightly higher temperature (around 12°C) to prevent odors, while the freezer continues to operate normally. Activate it by pressing the holiday button on the control panel; it will turn off automatically after your return or manually.
What should I do if the refrigerator lights are not working?
Check if the appliance is plugged in and the circuit breaker is not tripped. If the power is on, the LED light may be broken. Contact AEG customer service to replace the LED module. Do not attempt to disassemble the light housing yourself, as it may cause damage.
Where can I find spare parts for this AEG model?
Genuine spare parts are available through AEG official distributors and authorized service centers. You can also order online using the model number 18690OG-MN. For the exact part, refer to the exploded diagrams in the product manual. Most parts are covered by a 10-year availability guarantee.

The natural flow of air must be direct through permanent openings in the walls of the room that open directly to the outside with a minimum cross section of 100 cm2 (fig. 15). These openings must be positioned so they cannot be obstructed.

Indirect ventilation is also allowed by taking air from adjacent rooms to the one to be ventilated, strictly complying with the prescriptions of the standards in force.

Location and aeration

Gas cookers must always discharge the products of combustion and the moisture through hoods connected to flues or directly to the outside (fig. 16). If it is impossible to use a hood, a fan installed on the window or wall, facing the outside, is allowed and should be switched on each time the appliance is used (fig. 17) provided the rules and regulations in force relating to ventilation.

Conversions

Our burners can be adapted to different types of gas by simply installing the injectors suitable for the gas you want to use. To help the installer, the table in the "TECHNICAL INFORMATION" section gives the burner nominal heat input, injector diameter and operating pressure of the different gas types.

Comply with the following instructions:

Injector replacement - Hob burners.

To change the injectors on the hob, remove the burner cup and head and with a 7 mm ∅ socket spanner replace them (fig. 25).

Remove oven base. Remove screw 4 which will release burner and give access to the injector 3 (fig. 23). Unscrew injector and replace it. Replace burner and replace screw 4.
