Frequently Asked Questions - ProArt PA278CGRV ASUS

How do I connect the monitor to a laptop using USB-C?
Use a USB-C cable that supports DisplayPort Alt Mode. Connect it from your laptop to the monitor's USB-C port. The monitor will also receive power delivery (90W) to charge your laptop and simultaneously transmit video, data, and power through a single cable.
How can I calibrate the colors for accurate color grading?
The ProArt PA278CGRV is factory calibrated with ΔE < 2. You can use the OSD menu to switch between color presets like sRGB, Rec.709, DCI-P3, and others. For advanced calibration, use a hardware calibrator and the ASUS ProArt Calibration software.
What is the best way to clean the monitor screen?
First, unplug the monitor. Use a soft, dry microfiber cloth to gently wipe the screen. If needed, slightly dampen the cloth with distilled water. Never use alcohol, ammonia, or abrasive cleaners as they can damage the anti-glare coating.
Can I mount this monitor on a VESA arm or wall mount?
Yes, the monitor is compatible with 100x100mm VESA mounts. Remove the stand by pressing the release button and then attach the VESA bracket using the screws provided with your mount. Ensure the mount can support the monitor's weight (typically 7.8 kg).
What is the maximum refresh rate and does it support FreeSync?
The monitor supports a 75Hz refresh rate. It also supports Adaptive-Sync (compatible with both FreeSync and G-Sync on compatible systems) to reduce screen tearing during varied frame rates.
Does the monitor have built-in speakers?
Yes, the ProArt PA278CGRV comes with 2x 2W speakers built in. They are adequate for basic audio, but for color-critical work we recommend using external speakers or headphones via the audio output jack.
How do I enable the sRGB color mode for web design?
Press the OSD joystick button to open the menu, then go to Color > Preset. Select sRGB from the list. This will limit the color gamut to 100% sRGB and set a proper default brightness and contrast for web work.
Is the monitor compatible with Mac/PC and does it support daisy-chaining?
The monitor works with both Mac and Windows via DisplayPort, HDMI, or USB-C. It does not support DisplayPort daisy-chaining (MST). Each input connects directly to a separate source.
How can I update the monitor firmware?
Download the latest firmware file and the ASUS DisplayWidget tool from the ASUS support website. Run DisplayWidget, then select the firmware update option and follow the on-screen instructions while the monitor is connected via USB.
What are the ergonomic adjustments available with the stand?
The included stand offers height adjustment (up to 130mm), tilt (-5° to +35°), swivel (-60° to +60°), and pivot (90° clockwise). These adjustments help you achieve a comfortable viewing angle during extended work sessions.

Toward sustainable IT products

Illustration of various electronic devices including desktops, laptops, headphones, and a monitor (no text or symbols)

Say hello

to a more sustainable product

IT products are associated with a wide range of sustainability risks throughout their life cycle. Human rights violations are common in the factories. Harmful substances are used both in products and their manufacture. Products can often have a short lifespan because of poor ergonomics, low quality and when they are not able to be repaired or upgraded.

This product is a better choice. It meets all the criteria in TCO Certified, the world's most comprehensive sustainability certification for IT products. Thank you for making a responsible product choice, that help drive progress towards a more sustainable future!

Criteria in TCO Certified have a life-cycle perspective and balance environmental and social responsibility. Conformity is verified by independent and approved verifiers that specialize in IT products, social responsibility or other sustainability issues. Verification is done both before and after the certificate is issued, covering the entire validity period. The process also includes ensuring that corrective actions are implemented in all cases of factory non-conformities. And last but not least, to make sure that the certification and independent verification is accurate, both TCO Certified and the verifiers are reviewed regularly.
