Please comply with these instructions. If you do not, any damage resulting is not covered by the warranty.
Correct use
- This appliance is not intended for use by children or other persons whose physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge prevents them from using the appliance safely without supervision or instruction by a responsible person to ensure that they can use the appliance safely.
- Do not leave the appliance unattended during operation.
- This appliance should be used only for normal domestic cooking and frying of food.
- The appliance must not be used as a work surface or as a storage surface.
- Additions or modifications to the appliance are not permitted.
- Do not place or store flammable liquids, highly inflammable materials or fusible objects (e.g. plastic film, plastic, aluminium) on or near the appliance.
Children's safety
- Small children must be kept away from the appliance.
- Only let bigger children work on the appliance under supervision.
General safety
- The appliance may only be installed and connected by trained, registered service engineers.
- Built-in appliances may only be used after they have built in to suitable built-in units and work surfaces that meet standards.
- If there is a fault with the appliance, all hotplates must be switched off and the appliance must be disconnected from the mains supply to avoid any possible electric shock.
- Repairs to the appliance must only be carried out by trained registered service engineers.
Safety during use
- There is the risk of burns from the appliance if used carelessly.
- Cables from electrical appliances must not touch the hot surface of the appliance or hot cookware.
Overheated fats and oils can ignite very quickly. Warning! Fire hazard! - Switch the hotplates off after each use.
Safety when cleaning
- For cleaning, the appliance must be switched off and cooled down.
- For safety reasons, the cleaning of the appliance with steam jet or high-pressure cleaning equipment is not permitted.
How to avoid damage to the appliance
- Do not allow acid liquids such as vinegar, lemon juice or limescale removing agents to touch the hob, as otherwise this will cause matt patches.
- Do not place wet pan lids on the hot-plates and do not allow hot pans to cool on the hotplates. Otherwise condensation and rust can form.
- Do not use the hotplates with empty cookware or without cookware.

Using the Rings
You operate the appliance with the combination appliance's ring switches. The operation and the function of the ring switches is described in the Operating Instructions for the combination appliance.

Warning: The hotplates still remain hot for a time even after being switched off. There is a risk of burns. Let the hotplates cool down.
Tips on Cooking and Frying
Cookware
You can recognise good cookware from the bottoms of the pans. The bottom should be as thick and flat as possible.
Energy saving

Always place cookware on the hot-plate before it is switched on.

If possible, always place lids on the pans.

Switch hotplates off before the end of the cooking time, to take advantage of residual heat.

Bottom of pans and hotplate should be the same size.


Cleaning and Care

Take care! Risk of burns from residual heat.
Let the appliance cool down.
Cleaning the appliance after each use
- Wipe the appliance with a damp cloth and a little washing up liquid.
- Rub the appliance dry using a clean cloth.
Removing deposits
- Remove heavy deposits from the hotplates using fine scouring powder or a scouring pad.
- Wipe off residues with a damp cloth.
- Then heat the hotplate to a low temperature and leave to dry.
- To maintain the hotplates, rub in a little sewing machine oil now and again and then polish off with absorbent paper.

Important: Do not clean the stainless steel edge of the hob with scouring powder or a scouring pad as this will leave scratches!
For stainless steel hobs only use suitable stainless steel cleaning and maintenance products. Please the manufacturer's instructions.

The stainless steel edge of the plate can be slightly discoloured as a result of thermal load. This process is caused by the physical properties.
What to do if ...

If you are unable to remedy the problem by following the above suggestions, please contact your dealer or the Customer Care Department.

Warning! Repairs to the appliance are only to be carried out by qualified service engineers. Considerable danger to the user may result from improper repairs.

If the appliance has been wrongly operated, the visit from the customer service technician or dealer may not take place free of charge, even during the warranty period.
Disposal

Packaging material
The packaging materials are environmentally friendly and can be recycled. The plastic components are identified by markings, e.g. >PE< , >PS< , etc. Please dispose of the packaging materials in the appropriate container at the community waste disposal facilities.

Old appliance
The symbol on the product or on its packaging indicates that this product may not be treated as household waste. Instead it shall be handed over to the applicable collection point for the recycling of electrical and electronic equipment. By ensuring this product is disposed of correctly, you will help prevent potential negative consequences for the environment and human health, which could otherwise be caused by inappropriate waste handling of this product. For more detailed information about recycling of this product, please contact your local city office, your household waste disposal service or the shop where you purchased the product.
Installation Instructions

Safety instructions
Warning! This must be read!
The laws, ordinances, directives and standards in force in the country of use are to be followed (safety regulations, proper recycling in accordance with the regulations, etc.)
Installation may only be carried out by a qualified electrician.
The minimum distances to other appliances and units are to be observed.
Drawers may only be installed under the appliance with a protective floor.
The cut surfaces of the worktop are to be protected against moisture using a suitable sealant.
The sealant seals the appliance to the work top with no gap.
Do not use silicon sealant between the appliance and the work top.
Avoid installing the appliance next to doors and under windows. Otherwise hot cookware may be knocked off the rings when doors and windows are opened.
Risk of injury from electrical current.
The combination appliance is live.
- Observe electrical safety rules.
- Ensure anti-shock protection through correct installation by a qualified electrician.
- Rated voltage of the combined appliances must match.
Risk of injury from electrical current.
Loose and inappropriate plug and socket connections can lead to overheating of the plug.
- Fit plug and socket connections together properly.
A device must be provided in the electrical installation which allows the appliance to be disconnected from the mains at all poles with a contact opening width of at least 3 mm.
Suitable isolation devices include line protecting cut-outs, fuses (screw type fuses are to be removed from the holder), earth leakage trips and contactors.
Sticking on the seal
- Clean the worktop around the cut-out area.
- Attach the supplied one-sided adhesive liner tape around the cut-out on the top surface of the worktop. The joining point of the two ends should be in the middle of one of the sides. After cutting the correct length (allow a few millimetres) simply press the two ends against each other.
Guarantee/Customer Service
European Guarantee
This appliance is guaranteed by Electrolux in each of the countries listed at the back of this user manual, for the period specified in the appliance guarantee or otherwise by law. If you move from one of these countries to another of the countries listed below the appliance guarantee will move with you subject to the following qualifications:
- The appliance guarantee starts from the date you first purchased the appliance which will be evidenced by production of a valid purchase document issued by the seller of the appliance.
- The appliance guarantee is for the same period and to the same extent for labour and parts as exists in your new country of residence for this particular model or range of appliances.
- The appliance guarantee is personal to the original purchaser of the appliance and cannot be transferred to another user.
- The appliance is installed and used in accordance with instructions issued by Electrolux and is only used within the home, i.e. is not used for commercial purposes.
- The appliance is installed in accordance with all relevant regulations in force within your new country of residence.
The provisions of this European Guarantee do not affect any of the rights granted to you by law.
