Frequently Asked Questions - HC512 Bimar
How do I set the thermostat?
Turn the thermostat knob to the desired comfort level. The radiator switches on and off automatically to maintain the selected temperature. Use the frost protection setting to prevent freezing in winter.
How many heating levels does the HC512 have?
It has three heat settings (I, II, III). Select low, medium or high according to room size and desired comfort. The mechanical thermostat then modulates the heat output.
Can I paint the radiator?
Do not paint the radiating body. Painting can affect heat transmission and damage the protective coating. Use only a damp cloth for cleaning.
How do I clean my Bimar HC512?
Before cleaning, unplug the radiator and let it cool completely. Wipe the exterior with a soft damp cloth. Never use abrasive products or immerse it in water.
Is it safe to leave it on overnight?
The radiator has an overheat protection and a tip-over switch, but leaving any electric heater on overnight is not recommended. Always place it away from curtains and do not cover it.
Can I use it in a bathroom?
No, the HC512 is not designed for damp locations. Do not use it in bathrooms, showers or near water, to avoid electric shock risk.
Why is my radiator not heating up?
Check that the plug is correctly inserted, the thermostat setting is above room temperature, and the heat selector is not on "0". Also, the safety tip-over switch must be engaged: stand the radiator upright.
How can I save energy with this radiator?
Set the thermostat to a comfortable but not excessive level, use the heating level I for background heat, and close windows and doors to keep heat in. Use the frost setting when away.
What maintenance does the radiator need?
Very little maintenance is required. Regularly clean the surface and check that the power cable and plug are not damaged. At the end of the season, store the radiator in a dry place.
Does it come with wheels?
Yes, the package includes four swivel casters to mount on the base, making it easy to move the radiator from room to room.
