Frequently Asked Questions - DSH 785 TEKA
What is the minimum installation height for the Teka DSH 785?
The recommended minimum distance between the hob and the hood is 65 cm for electric cookers and 75 cm for gas cookers for safety and efficient extraction.
How do I clean the grease filters?
Remove the aluminium filters and wash them by hand in warm soapy water or in a dishwasher at 60 °C. Dry thoroughly before refitting and clean them monthly.
Can I use the hood in recirculation mode?
Yes. Insert a charcoal/activated carbon filter into the recirculation kit. The carbon filter is not washable and should be replaced every 3 to 6 months.
How do I replace the lights?
Switch off the power, remove the lamp cover and replace the old bulb with a 3 W LED spot of the same base. Use protective gloves and avoid touching the new bulb directly.
Why is the hood noisy?
Noise increases with suction speed, but loud noise usually indicates clogged filters or a blocked duct. Clean the filters and check that the ducting is smooth and straight.
What diameter of duct should I use?
Use a rigid or semi-rigid duct with a diameter of 150 mm. Keep it as short as possible and avoid sharp bends to maintain maximum airflow.
How do the speed controls work?
The push buttons control three normal speeds plus an intensive boost speed for very steamy cooking. Press the + button to increase speed and the – button to reduce.
What are the overall dimensions of the DSH 785?
The hood measures approximately 900 mm wide, 500 mm deep and 530 mm high. It is designed for wall installation above cookers.
Where can I buy spare parts?
Genuine Teka parts such as grease filters, carbon filters and lamp modules are available from the Teka customer service and authorised dealers. Quote the model number DSH 785.
Does the hood have a safety system?
The motor has a thermal cut-out that protects it from overheating. The appliance is CE certified and should be connected to an earthed outlet.
