Frequently Asked Questions - HD700X OPTOMA

How to turn off the projector?
Press the Power button once. A message will ask you to confirm by pressing again. Wait for the cooling cycle to finish (about 10 seconds) before unplugging the power.
What to do if no image is displayed?
Check that the projector is on (green power LED), the lens cap is removed, cables are properly connected, and the source is selected. If the 'No Signal' message appears, press the Source button to choose the appropriate input.
How to replace the lamp?
Turn off the projector and unplug it. Let it cool for 30 minutes. Unscrew the lamp cover, then the 2 screws of the module. Pull the handle to remove the old lamp. Insert the new lamp, screw it back, and close the cover. Turn on the projector and go to Options > Lamp Settings > Lamp Reset to reset the counter.
How to adjust the image size?
Use the zoom ring on top of the projector to enlarge or reduce the image. Move the projector closer to or farther from the screen to change the size. Refer to the projection distance table in the manual for a precise size.
How to correct keystone distortion?
Press the V. Keystone + or - buttons on the remote control to straighten the image vertically. Avoid using too much correction to preserve image quality.
What inputs are available?
The projector has: HDMI, VGA (D-Sub 15-pin), Component (YPbPr via RCA), Composite (yellow RCA), S-Video, and an RS232 port for service. You can switch between sources with the Source button or direct buttons on the remote control.
The remote control does not work, what to do?
Check that the batteries are inserted correctly and are not dead. Make sure no obstacle blocks the infrared beam between the remote and the projector. The maximum distance is 6 meters and the reception angle is about ±22.5°.
How to clean the projector?
Turn off the projector and unplug it. Use a soft dry cloth to clean the casing. Never use liquid cleaners, solvents, or abrasive products. Do not clean the lens with a dry cloth; use a special lens cloth if necessary.
How to adjust the focus?
Turn the focus ring on the lens until the image is sharp. The focus distance ranges from 1.2 to 12 meters.
How to reset settings?
Go to the Settings menu then select Reset. Confirm with 'Yes' to restore factory defaults. This does not affect the lamp counter.

How to unlock a blocked source on the OPTOMA HD700X projector?
Frequently Asked Questions - 17/01/2026
Response Notice-Facile

On the OPTOMA HD700X projector, the Source Lock function controls the detection of connection ports. When this function is enabled (On), the projector only searches for the currently defined port and ignores other inputs, which can give the impression that a source is blocked when the device is turned off.

To unlock the source and restore automatic detection, follow these steps: Turn on the projector and press the Menu button on the remote control or control panel. Use the directional keys to navigate to Options and press Enter. Scroll down to Source Lock and select it.

In the Source Lock menu, you will see two options: On (locks the projector to the currently connected port) and Off (enables automatic detection on all ports). Set this option to Off to allow the projector to automatically search for a source on all ports (VGA, HDMI, Composite, etc.) when it starts up. Confirm with Enter and exit the menu.

If the problem persists after this procedure, check that all signal cables are properly connected and in good condition. You can also try a complete restart of the projector: turn it off by pressing Power twice, wait for the cooling cycle (about 10 to 15 seconds), unplug the power cord for 30 seconds, then plug it back in and turn the device on. This reset may resolve source detection issues.
