How to use the defrost function?

Insert the frozen bread into the slot, select the desired toasting level, lower the lever, then press the Defrost button. The toaster will adjust the toasting time for frozen items.

Can I toast pastries directly in the slots?

No, use the provided pastry rack. Fold the two feet of the rack inward, place it on the slots, then put the pastry on top before lowering the lever.

What to do if smoke or burning smell appears during first use?

It is normal during initial uses due to manufacturing residues. Run the toaster empty 4 to 5 times before toasting bread. Make sure you are in a well-ventilated area.

How to clean the toaster?

Unplug it and let it cool down. Wipe the exterior with a damp cloth. Remove the crumb tray by pressing on it, empty it and clean it. Never immerse the appliance in water and do not put it in the dishwasher.

Can I toast bread spread with butter or jam?

No, this could cause a fire or smoke. The toaster is designed only for dry bread or pastries without filling.

How to use the reheat function?

Insert the already toasted bread into the slot, select the toasting level (optional), lower the lever, then press the Reheat button. The indicator lights up and the bread is reheated without being overcooked.

What to do if the toaster is not working properly?

Is it possible to lock the lever in the down position?

2. BEFORE USE

• This appliance is packaged in a way as to protect it during transport. Take the appliance out of its box and remove all packaging materials. You can keep the original box and other packaging elements in a safe place. This will help you prevent damage to the appliance when transporting it in the future. In case the original packaging is disposed of, make sure all packaging materials are recycled accordingly.
• Make sure all parts and components are included and in good conditions. If there is any piece missing or in bad conditions, contact the official Cecotec Technical Support Service immediately.
• Before using the toaster for the first time, it is important to perform a toasting process without bread. We recommend 4 or 5 times. Push the toasting lever down until it latches into place.
• When the toasting is finished, the toasting lever automatically springs up. The toaster is now ready to be used with bread.

Warning:

A slight odour and smoke might appear when using the appliance for the first time. This is due to manufacturing material residues and does not affect the operation of the appliance.

3. OPERATION

1. Insert the slices of bread in the slots.
2. Use the toasting-level knob to select the desired toasting level. There are 6 different levels, from 1 (the lowest toasting level) to 6 (the highest level).

Recommendation: set level 3 (medium toasting) for brown results.

1. Push the toasting lever down until it latches into place. The Stop indicator light will turn on and toasting will start.

2. You can set the toasting level with the appliance in operation. The display will show the chosen toasting level and start counting down automatically, depending on the chosen toasting level. The toaster will automatically turn off when the timer stops and toast will exit the appliance.

3. To toast frozen bread, waffles, or other pastry, use the Defrost button.

4. To toast bread that has previously been toasted, insert the bread in the toasting slot and select the desired toasting level. Then, pull the toasting lever and press the Reheat button. The Reheat indicator light will turn on too.
5. The defrost, toasting and reheat processes can be interrupted at any time by pushing the stop button.

Toasting pastries

1. Fold both legs of the warming rack inwards and position it so that the ends of the legs are slightly inserted into the slots.
2. Choose the desired toasting level. Place the pastry to be toasted on the rack and lower the lever.

Warning:

Do not insert the pastry in the slots directly, as this could damage the appliance.

4. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

• Unplug the appliance from the power supply and allow it to cool down before cleaning.
• Use a soft, damp cloth to clean the surface of the appliance.
• Do not immerse the appliance in water or other liquids. The appliance is not dishwasher safe.
• Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads to clean the appliance.
• Slide the crumb tray out of the appliance and empty it.
• Clean the crumb tray regularly. Use a brush to remove the burnt bread remains. To remove the crumb tray, simply press and pull it out. Fig. 2
