Frequently Asked Questions - Cumbia Mokclassic 300 Garnet CECOTEC

How to use the Cecotec Cumbia Mokclassic 300 Garnet coffee maker?
Fill the lower chamber with water up to the valve level. Insert the filter and fill it with ground coffee without tamping. Screw on the top part. Place on low heat. Remove from heat as soon as the coffee rises. Do not let it boil too long.
Should I tamp the coffee in the filter?
No, do not tamp the coffee. Simply fill the filter to the brim and level it gently. Tamping blocks the water flow and makes the coffee bitter.
Why is my coffee coming out bitter or burnt?
Bitterness may come from too high heat, too dark roast, or too fine grind. Use a medium grind (for moka) and low heat.
How to clean my coffee maker?
Let it cool, then disassemble. Wash each part with clean water without soap. Dry thoroughly. The gasket and filter can be replaced. Do not put in dishwasher.
What type of coffee to use?
Use ground coffee for moka, medium grind (neither fine like for espresso nor coarse like for filter). Medium roasted beans are ideal.
Can I use this coffee maker on an induction hob?
No, this aluminum coffee maker is not suitable for induction. Use it on gas, electric, or ceramic hobs.
How many cups does it make?
The capacity of 300 ml corresponds to about 6 cups of Italian coffee (small cups).
Is the safety valve reliable?
Yes, the safety valve releases excessive pressure. Never block it and check that it is clean.
Where can I buy spare parts (gasket, filter)?
Gaskets and filters are available from Cecotec after-sales service or on online sales sites (standard 6-cup O-ring).
Why does my coffee maker leak between the two parts?
This is often due to a worn or mispositioned gasket, or insufficient tightening. Replace the gasket and screw firmly but do not overtighten.
