Frequently Asked Questions - IR-X PAC
How do I load an IR file into the PAC IR-X?
Connect the device to your computer via USB. Use the dedicated software or drag-and-drop the IR file (WAV format) onto the device drive. Ensure the file is mono, 24-bit, 44.1 or 48 kHz.
Can I use the IR-X with a guitar amplifier?
Yes. Connect your guitar to the input, then connect the output to the amplifier's input. The IR-X processes the signal and can be placed before or after other pedals.
Does the IR-X require batteries?
No. It is powered via USB (5V) or an optional 9V DC power supply (center negative). USB power is sufficient for standard operation.
How many IR slots are available?
The IR-X has a single active IR slot. You can store multiple IR files on the internal memory and switch between them via the software or external control.
What is the latency of the IR-X?
Latency is extremely low, less than 1 ms, making it suitable for real-time performance.
Can I use the IR-X with a stereo setup?
The IR-X is mono. For stereo, you would need two units. However, the output can be split after the IR-X for a stereo effect if desired.
My IR-X is not recognized by the computer. What should I do?
First, try a different USB cable and port. Ensure the device is powered (LED on). If still not recognized, reinstall the driver or check for conflicts with other devices.
How do I perform a factory reset?
Press and hold the bypass footswitch while connecting power. Keep holding for 5 seconds until the LED flashes rapidly. Release to reset all settings and IR files.
Can I use third-party IR files?
Yes. The IR-X accepts standard WAV IR files with the correct sample rate and bit depth. Ensure they are mono and not longer than 1 second.
What is the bypass mode?
Press the footswitch to toggle bypass. When bypassed, the input signal is routed directly to the output without IR processing. The LED will change color to indicate bypass status.
