Frequently Asked Questions - Energysilence Aero 580 1 CECOTEC

How to install the Cecotec Energysilence Aero 580 1 ceiling fan?
Installation should be done by two people. Attach the mounting bracket to the ceiling (wood or concrete with anchors). Pass the wiring through the central rod, attach the suspension ball, and hang the assembly on the bracket. Connect the wires according to the color code, then screw on the decorative cover. The minimum distance between the blades and the floor must be 2.3 m and 76 cm from walls.
How to clean the ceiling fan?
Before cleaning, turn off and unplug the appliance. Use a clean, soft, damp cloth to wipe the blades and motor. Never immerse the fan in water or use solvents or chemicals.
How to reverse the blade rotation direction (summer/winter function)?
Press the Winter/Summer button on the remote control. The fan will beep, the blades will gradually stop and then rotate in the opposite direction. In summer, air circulates from top to bottom for a cooling effect; in winter, air circulates from bottom to top to redistribute heat.
What to do if the remote control does not work?
Check that the batteries (2 x AAA 1.5 V) are correctly inserted and in good condition. Make sure the fan is on (high speed). Move other remote-controlled devices away to avoid interference. If the problem persists, re-pair the remote control by pressing the disconnect button for 5 seconds, then the low speed button.
What is the power and electrical consumption of the fan?
The fan has a power of 65 W on a 220-240 V ~ 50/60 Hz supply. In standby, it consumes 0.45 W. The maximum airflow is 156.5 m³/min and the maximum air speed is 2.5 m/s.
Can the fan be installed on a sloped ceiling?
Yes, this fan is suitable for normal, vaulted or sloped ceilings. For sloped ceilings, a longer rod may be needed (not supplied). Follow the mounting instructions according to the ceiling type in the manual.
What are the dimensions and weight of the fan?
Exact dimensions are not specified in the manual. However, the Energysilence Aero 580 model suggests a diameter of about 58 inches (147 cm). Weight is not indicated, but the mounting bracket must support at least 100 kg.
How to set the timer?
On the remote control, press the timer buttons to select 1 h, 2 h, 4 h or 8 h. The fan will turn off automatically after the set time.
What to do if a remote control battery is swallowed?
Batteries can cause serious internal burns. If swallowed, seek immediate medical attention. Keep batteries out of reach of children.
How to recycle the fan at the end of its life?
Do not dispose of the appliance with household waste. Take it to a collection point for electrical and electronic equipment. Remove the batteries and recycle them separately according to local regulations.

3. PRODUCT ASSEMBLY

General assembly instructions

  • If you hang the fan on a hook, the latter must withstand at least 100 kg.
  • To prevent personal injury and damage, make sure that the location where the device is going to be installed allows a 2.3-metre clearance from the blades to the floor and a 76-cm clearance from the blades to any wall or object. Fig. 2
  • Make sure that the building structure can hold the full weight of the fan.
  • This fan can be installed on a normal or vaulted ceiling with a downrod. The hanging length can be extended by using a longer downrod.

Assembling the fan based on ceiling type (Fig. 3):

  1. Normal ceilings
  2. Sloped ceilings (might require a longer downrod, not supplied by Cecotec)
  3. Wooden ceiling. Fig. 4
  4. Concrete ceiling. Fig. 5

To assemble the ceiling fan, follow the steps below (Fig. 3-9):

  1. Remove the lower and upper pins from the downrod and release the hanging ball at the top of the rod.
  2. Pass the wiring from the main body through the downrod.
  3. Attach the downrod to the body by inserting the pin through the downrod and the main-body attachment. Tighten the screws provided on the main-body attachment to properly secure the downrod.
  4. Remove the 4 screws that fix the upper canopy and the installation bracket. Insert the upper canopy through the downrod.
  5. Insert the pin through the pin holes located on the upper end of the downrod. Once inserted, slide the hanging ball upward to the upper end of the downrod and fix it with one of the screws provided. Fig. 7-8
  6. Make sure the pin fits in the slots located inside the hanging ball before screwing it.
  7. Mark the centre of the installation bracket and use both self-tapping screws provided with their corresponding washers and pressure washers to fix the installation bracket to a wooden ceiling.

Warning

Self-tapping screws are only suitable for wooden ceilings. In case of installing the ceiling fan to concrete ceilings or joists, use a drill for making the holes and plugs or expansion screws (not included).

  1. Remove the screws located on the lower part of the motor through the lamp holder.
  2. Screw the blades to the blade brackets using the bolts, washers, and nuts provided, then screw the blade-bracket assembly to the main body. Given that the blades are reversible, choose the side you want to screw them on. Fig. 9
  3. Once the installation bracket is screwed, connect the wiring. First connect the quick-connect cord to the terminal block on the installation bracket following the colour code (Fig. 8). From the opposite end of the terminal block, connect the wiring from the installation of your home.
  4. Lift the fan previously mounted to the installation bracket and insert the hanging ball through the installation-bracket hole.
  5. Connect the cords that come out from the downrod to those from the installation bracket using both quick connectors.
  6. Slide the canopy upwards so that all the connections are stored inside it and screw it to the installation bracket using the 4 screws (2 to each side) removed at the beginning of the installation process.

Please note

The reversible blades have 2 different high-quality finishes.

By inverting the blades, the device produces a decorative effect and adapts to different room designs.
