Metabo has a solid range of cordless machines that can cover a wide range of applications. The compatibility of the battery packs ensures economically efficient use. With Li Power – the lithium-ion technology by Metabo – a new battery technology era has begun. Li Power batteries are up to 40% lighter and yet still provide up to 40% more power than previous battery packs. Along with the Metabo AIR COOLED charging technology, Metabo is once again one step ahead when it comes to battery technology. Metabo. Work. Don’t play.

For charging your battery packs, you can choose between the universal quick chargers C 45, the pulse computer quick charger ICS 10 and the air-cooled chargers AC 30, AC 30 Plus, ACS 15 and ACS 15 Plus. You can even charge battery packs of the first generation with

our latest chargers and thus enjoy shorter charging times. When the charging process is finished, the charger automatically switches to trickle charging. The battery pack can therefore remain in the charger, is not overcharged and is always fully ready for use.

Greater efficiency with more power at considerably less weight: That's Metabo Li-Power! A Metabo Li-power lithium battery supplies around 96 % efficiency, 16 % more than NiCd or NiMH, as a result it can provide approximately 40 % more energy the NiCd & NiMH batteries. At the same time it is around 40 % lighter. A 18 V 2.2 Ah Li- ion pack weighs in at approx 700g where as a normal NiMH battery pack comes in at just over 1kg!

This is not all Li-Power has to offer. Thanks to its lower self discharge rate, Li-ion packs can be used immediately at full power even after long period of non use. When you charge the battery, neither the memory nor the lazy battery effect arises. And unlike NiMH batteries, Li-ion batteries work from -20 °C to 50 °C without any problems (just like NiCd).

METABO AIR COOLED CHARGING TECHNOLOGY: THE QUICKEST CHARGERS.

"AIR COOLED" is a technology that only Metabo has to offer. In combination with Li Power, it forms what is possibly the most effective battery system on the market.

The cooler the battery is while charging the faster it can be used again. Every battery heats up when used, which impedes an immediate, effective recharge. The new, patented AIR COOLED charging technology takes this problem out of the equation, since the battery is cooled down before and during the charging process. The charging process thus becomes around 30% quicker, the batteries last longer and

you save yourself the hassle of hanging around waiting for batteries to charge. Another outstanding new feature is the refresh function (only with ACS 15 PLUS). This feature brings the performance impairing unbalanced charge levels of the cells back into line. This 'cell balancing' process should be activated at the end of the charging process once every month on NiCd and NiMH batteries only.
