IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING THE NI-MH BATTERIES OF THIS UNIT

To obtain and maintain the longest battery autonomy possible, allow it to charge for 16 hours before using it for the first time and then approximately every three months. Full autonomy of the unit will only be obtained after three complete recharge cycles.

  1. Plug the cord into the unit and connect the transformer. Before using the trimmer for the first time, allow it to charge for 16 hours. Make sure the trimmer's switch is in the OFF position.
  2. Check that the charging indicator light is lit.
  3. A full charge provides a minimum of 30 minutes' use of the trimmer.
  4. Subsequent charges should also be 16 hours.

USE ON THE MAINS

To use the trimmer on the mains, plug the chord directly into the unit.

Plug the trimmer, in the OFF position, into the mains and switch ON (If the battery is very weak, wait about 1 minute).

IMPORTANT! Use only the adapter that is supplied with the trimmer Ref.E842XE Voltage = 3V -Current 1000mA

HANDLING THE COMB GUIDE

The comb guide is very practical

and guarantees an even cutting length.

NOTE: Always put the comb guide on BEFORE turning the trimmer on, and turn the trimmer off before removing it.

To remove or replace the comb guide, first set the comb guide to double triangle mark (Fig. 1) and, with the motor off, pull the guide up to remove (Fig. 2) it, press the guide down then turn the dial to put it on (Fig. 3).

TURNING IT ON AND USING IT

To adjust the cutting length of the clipper, turn the dial; the selected height will appear in the little window above the dial.

Switch the ON/OFF button and select speed I or speed II. (Fig. 4) You can change the cutting length at any time.

NOTE! Make sure you hold the comb head flat against the skin. That is, the tips of the teeth and the little corners protruding from the comb should always be in contact with the skin. If not, the precision of the cut may change.

CUTTING TECHNIQUES

For the beard or moustache just the way you want it...

Decide on the type of beard or moustache that best suits your face taking into account the size of your face and natural

growth and thickness of your beard and/or moustache. After deciding on the form of the beard and/or moustache, it is easy to maintain its appearance by using the trimmer as soon as you feel it is necessary. For better results, we recommend cutting the beard when it is dry. This helps make the cut precise and comfortable.

To determine the shape of the beard

After having combed your beard in the direction of its natural growth, decide on the desired shape by starting under the jaw. Come back up each side towards the ears. Then continue on your cheeks towards the hair. Make sure you always trim or style your beard against the hair growth.

To create a 3-day-beard effect...

The special 3-day-beard cutting guide is a guide especially designed to ensure fine cuts (short) and in particular 3-day beards. It simply fits onto the main guide and is just as easily removed* when trimming around the nose, lips or ears.

*To remove, press the oval located near the two lines and at the same time pull the guide in front of the main guide.

(Fig. 7-8))

To thin the moustache, sideburns, goatee, jaw line...

Place the end of the blade without comb guide in the line

of the cut desired.

NOTE! Only use in the opening of the nostrils or ears to avoid any risk of injury.

MAINTENANCE

For maximum hygiene, the head of the trimmer can be washed in water.

NOTE! The unit is not waterproof.

To rinse the trimmer head, move the comb guide away from the body of the unit slightly and run it under water (Fig. 9). The comb guide can also be rinsed separately.

Regular maintenance of the trimmer blades will keep them in optimal working condition.

Removable blades

To make cleaning easier, the BaByliss trimmer blades can be removed. Make sure the trimmer is turned off and then remove the comb guide. Hold the trimmer with the blades facing up and remove them by pressing on the tips of the blades (Fig. 10).

Carefully brush the blades using the cleaning brush to remove hair.

Self-lubricating blades

The blades of your trimmer have a reservoir pad for releasing the necessary amount of oil for proper operation of your trimmers, time after time. Nevertheless, it is recommended that it be refilled occasionally when you notice

performance is not as high.

Remove the blades as described above.

Squeeze a few drops of BaByliss oil onto the pad (Fig. 11).

Then replace the blades on the trimmer.

The BaByliss oil is specially formulated for the trimmer, it does not evaporate nor does it slow the blades.

It is possible to obtain replacement blades when these are worn out or damaged.
