Frequently Asked Questions - CV460 Jandy
How to install the Jandy CV460 filter?
Place the filter on a flat and stable surface. Connect the multi-port valve to the piping respecting the flow directions (inlet, return, waste). Fill the tank with sand or filter glass up to half, then complete the assembly.
What type of sand to use in the CV460?
Use #20 silica sand (0.4-0.8 mm) or filter glass. The recommended quantity is approximately 75 kg.
How to perform a backwash?
Turn off the pump, set the valve to 'backwash' position, restart the pump until the waste water is clear (2-3 minutes), then turn off the pump and set the valve to 'rinse' for 30 seconds. Finally, set the valve to 'filter'.
What is the normal operating pressure?
The working pressure is usually between 0.5 and 1.5 bar. The maximum allowed pressure is 2.5 bar. If it exceeds 2 bar, a backwash is necessary.
How to clean the filter at the end of the season?
Perform a backwash, empty the tank, remove the sand (or do chemical descaling). Store the filter in a dry place, protected from frost.
What to do in case of water leak?
Check the O-rings of the valve and the lid. Replace them if necessary. Tighten the clamps and ensure the pressure gauge seal is in good condition.
Can sand be replaced with filter glass?
Yes, filter glass is compatible and offers better particle retention. Make sure to respect the same volume as sand (about 15% less by weight).
How to maintain the multi-port valve?
Lubricate the O-rings with silicone grease once a year. Ensure the positions click correctly. If it becomes hard to turn, replace the seals.
Which pump to pair with the CV460 filter?
A pump with a flow rate of 20 m³/h at 10 m head is recommended, for example the Jandy PlusHP 1.5 HP.
Is the CV460 filter guaranteed?
Yes, the manufacturer warranty is 2 years against manufacturing defects. Wear parts (seals, pressure gauge) are not covered.
