Frequently Asked Questions - PRO MIX 2KS GRACO

What is the flowmeter calibration procedure?
Access the calibration screen on the EasyKey. Select the flowmeter (A, B, or solvent), press Start, then dispense product through the sampling valve. The system calculates the new K factor. Use Purge to clean the valves after calibration.
How to change color with the system?
Use the Up and Down keys on the control cabinet to select the new mixture, then press Enter. The system automatically starts a purge sequence of the old color and fill of the new one.
What to do in case of high ratio alarm (E-3)?
Check that the supply pressure of both components is balanced. If the alarm persists, inspect the metering valves: they may be clogged or misadjusted. Consult the manual for adjusting the mixing manifold valves.
What is the difference between sequential and dynamic metering?
In sequential metering, components A and B are dispensed one after the other into a mixer. In dynamic metering, component A flows continuously and B is injected in pulses, avoiding the use of a mixer.
How to set the pot life of a mixture?
In the composition setup screen, enter the pot life in minutes (0 to 999). To activate it, enter a pot life volume corresponding to the product volume between the mixer and the gun.
Can I use this proportioner with fast-drying paints?
No, the system is not suitable for paints with a pot life of less than 15 minutes. It could clog or cure in the hoses.
How to perform a system depressurization?
Follow the procedure described in the manual: close the supply valves, trigger the gun into a grounded metal bucket, then open the purge valves to release any residual pressure.
What do alarm codes E-7 and E-8 mean?
These alarms indicate a metering time expired for component A (E-7) or B (E-8): the trigger is activated but no flow is detected. Check the gun, supply pump, and flowmeters.
How to update the system software?
Use the web interface port to connect a PC to the system. Through the browser, you can download and install updates, view logs, and back up configurations.
What protective equipment is recommended?
Always wear safety glasses, impermeable gloves, a respirator suitable for the products used, and hearing protection if necessary. Consult the product safety data sheets (MSDS).
