Frequently Asked Questions - TRK7M39XEW AEG

What temperature should I set for the fridge and freezer?
For optimal food preservation, set the fridge to 4°C and the freezer to -18°C. The electronic controls allow easy adjustment; consult the display for current settings.
Why is ice building up in the freezer?
Ice buildup can occur if the door is left open, or if warm food is placed in the freezer. Manual defrosting is required every few months or when ice exceeds 5 mm thickness.
What are the normal sounds my fridge makes?
You may hear gurgling from the refrigerant, clicking from the thermostat, or humming from the compressor. These are normal. If noises become loud or irregular, consult the manual.
How can I save energy with my AEG fridge?
Place the fridge away from heat sources, leave 10 cm clearance behind, set the correct temperature, and avoid frequent door openings. Use Holiday Mode when away for extended periods.
Does this model have a water filter and how do I replace it?
Some versions include a water filter. If equipped, the filter should be replaced every 6 months. The filter is located inside the fridge compartment; turn it 90° to remove.
What is Holiday Mode and how does it work?
Holiday Mode sets the fridge to a higher temperature (approx. 14°C) to save energy while preventing odor buildup. The freezer remains at -18°C. Activate via the control panel.
How should I clean the fridge and freezer?
Unplug the appliance. Remove all shelves and drawers, wash them with warm soapy water. Wipe the interior with a mild detergent solution. Dry thoroughly before restarting.
What clearances are needed for installation?
Leave at least 10 cm above and behind the fridge, and 5 cm on each side for proper ventilation. Place on a level surface. Avoid direct sunlight and heat sources.
How long will food stay frozen during a power failure?
The freezer can keep food frozen for up to 14 hours if the door remains closed. Keep the door closed as much as possible to preserve the cold.
Can I store hot food in the fridge?
Allow hot food to cool to room temperature before placing it in the fridge to avoid raising the internal temperature and straining the compressor.

THE VARIOUS FUNCTION AND POSSIBILITIES

Information on No-Frost technology

No-frost refrigerators differ from other static refrigerators in their operating principle.

In normal refrigerators, the humidity entering the refrigerator due to opening the door and the humidity inherent in the food causes freezing on the backside of the air duct. To defrost the frost and ice on the backside of the air duct, you are periodically required to turn off the refrigerator and place the food that needs to be kept cool in a separately cooled area.

The situation is completely different in no-frost refrigerators. Dry and cold air is blown into the refrigerator compartment homogeneously and evenly from several points via a blower fan. Cold air dispersed homogeneously and evenly between the shelves cools all of your food equally and uniformly, thus preventing humidity and freezing. Therefore, your no-frost refrigerator allows you ease of use, in addition to its huge capacity and stylish appearance.

Your foods will be better stored if you put them in the most appropriate cooling area. The coldest area is just above the crisper.

The following symbol indicates the coldest area of your refrigerator.

To be sure to have a low temperature in this area, make sure the shelf is located

at the level of this symbol, as shown in the illustration.

The upper limit of the coldest area is indicated by the lower side of the sticker (head of the arrow). The coldest area upper shelf must be at the same level with the arrow head. The coldest area is below this level.

As these shelves are removable, make sure they are always at the same level with these zone limits described on the stickers, in order to guarantee temperatures in this area.

ARRANGING FOOD IN THE APPLIANCE

AEG TRK7M39XEW - ARRANGING FOOD IN THE APPLIANCE - 1

  • Fresh food compartment is the one marked (on the rating plate) with
  • To reduce humidity and avoid the consequent formation of frost, always store liquids in sealed containers in the refrigerator. Frost tends to concentrate in the coldest parts of the evaporating liquid and, in time, your appliance will require more frequent defrosting.
  • Never place warm food in the refrigerator. Warm food should be allowed to cool at room temperature and should be arranged to ensure adequate air circulation in the refrigerator compartment.
  • Make sure no items are in direct contact with the rear wall of the appliance as frost will develop and packaging will stick to it. Do not open the refrigerator door frequently.
  • We recommend that meat and clean fish are loosely wrapped and stored on the glass shelf just above the vegetable bin where the air is cooler, as this provides the best storage conditions.
  • Store loose fruit and vegetable items in the crisper containers.
  • Store loose fruit and vegetables in the crisper.
  • Storing fruit and vegetables separately helps prevent ethylene-sensitive vegetables (green leaves, broccoli, carrot, etc.) being affected by ethylene-releaser fruits (banana, peach, apricot, fig etc.).
  • Do not put wet vegetables into the refrigerator.
  • Storage time for all food products depends on the initial quality of the food and an uninterrupted refrigeration cycle before refrigerator storage.
  • To avoid cross-contamination do not store meat products with fruit and vegetables. Water leaking from meat may contaminate other products in the refrigerator. You should package meat products and clean any leakages on the shelves.
  • Do not put food in front of the air flow passage.
  • Consume packaged foods before the recommended expiry date.

If your fridge is not working properly, it may be a minor problem, therefore check the following, before calling an electrician to save time and money.

Your fridge is not operating

Check if:

  • There is power
  • The plug is correctly connected to the socket
  • The plug or mains fuse has blown
  • The socket is faulty. Examine this by plugging your fridge into a working socket.

What to do if your appliance performs poorly;

Check that;

  • You have not overloaded the appliance,
  • The fridge temperature set to 8. • The door is closed perfectly, • There is no dust on the condenser,
  • There is enough place at the rear and side walls.

Your fridge is operating noisily

Cracking (ice cracking) noise occurs:

• During automatic defrosting. - When the appliance is cooled or warmed (due to expansion of appliance material).

Motor noise: Indicates the compressor is operating normally. The compressor may cause more noise for a short time when it is first activated.

Bubbling noise and splash: Due to the flow of the refrigerant in the tubes of the system.

Air blowing noise: Indicates normal operation of the system due to the circulation of air.

There is a build-up of humidity inside the cooler

Check if:

  • All food is packed properly. Containers must be dry before being placed in the fridge.
  • The fridge door is opened frequently. Humidity of the room enters the fridge when the doors are opened. Humidity increases faster when the doors are opened more frequently, especially if the humidity of the room is high.

The door is not opening and closing properly

Check if:

  • There is food or packaging preventing the door from closing
  • The door compartments, shelves and drawers are placed properly • The door joints are broken or torn
  • Your fridge is level.

Recommendations

To stop the appliance completely, unplug from main socket (for cleaning and when the door is left open).

Hints for Energy Saving

  1. Install the appliance in a cool, well-ventilated room, but not in direct sunlight and not near a heat source (such as a radiator or oven) otherwise an insulating plate should be used.
  2. Allow warm food and drinks to cool before placing them inside the appliance.
  3. Drinks or other liquids should be covered when inside the appliance. If left uncovered, the humidity inside the appliance will increase, therefore the appliance uses more energy. Keeping drinks and other liquids covered helps preserve their smell and taste.
  4. Avoid keeping the doors open for long periods and opening the doors too frequently as warm air will enter the appliance and cause the compressor to switch on unnecessarily often.
  5. Keep the covers of the different temperature compartments (such as the crisper and chiller) closed.
  6. The door gasket must be clean and pliable. In case of wear, if your gasket is detachable, replace the gasket. If not detachable, you have to replace the door.
  7. Eco mode / default setting function preserves fresh foods while saving energy.
  8. Fresh Food Compartment (Fridge): Most efficient use of energy is ensured in the configuration with the drawers in the bottom part of the appliance, and shelves evenly.
