How do I perform a factory reset on the VGW-420FS?
Press and hold the reset button on the front panel for about 10 seconds until the system LED blinks. The device will reboot with factory defaults.
How can I access the web management interface?
Connect your computer to any port, set a static IP in the same subnet as the switch (default 192.168.0.100), and open a browser to http://192.168.0.100. Default login: admin/admin.
What is the default IP address and login credentials?
Default IP: 192.168.0.100, username: admin, password: admin. It is recommended to change these upon initial setup.
How do I update the firmware?
Download the latest firmware from Planet's support website. Go to System > Firmware Upgrade in the web GUI, select the file, and click Upgrade. Do not power off during the process.
The SFP+ ports are not working. What should I check?
Verify the SFP modules are compatible and properly inserted. Check the link status in the web GUI. Ensure the fiber cables are clean and the remote device is operational.
Can I configure VLANs via the CLI?

How do I configure port mirroring?
In the web GUI, go to Monitor > Mirror. Select the source port(s) and destination port where the mirrored traffic will be sent.
What is the maximum cable length for the RJ45 ports?

How do I enable SNMP on the switch?

PLANET VGW-x20FS enterprise-class 4-/8-/16-/24-/32-port SIP VoIP Gateway Series provides added flexibility during migration to Unified Communications by supporting the traditional analog devices. These devices include analog phones, fax machines, modems, voicemail systems and speakerphones.
