We recommend you consult a professional installer to set up your equipment. 3.1 Connecting to a Terrestrial Antenna

Fig.4 Toreceive broadcast signal, your terrestral indoor antenna must be connected to the ANT IN connector on the back ofthe receiver. The ANT OUT connector allows you to loop the antenna signal to a second receiver or TV set. NOTE: Ithe signals at your location are too weak to receive proper signals with the induded indoor antenna, we recommend using an outdoor antenna which an be pointed to transmission tower. Ask your local dealer for more advice.

3.2 Connecting to TV with HDMI cable

Connect the HDMI output of the receiver to an input of your amplifier, and then connect the HDMI output of the amplifier to your TV set. Select the correct input on your amplifier to watch and listen to programmes.

3.6 Connecting a USB storage device

For proper functioning of Timeshif and recording functions a fast USB device {such as a hard disk ve) is needed. Inteupted playback or distorted pictures during playback or Timeshft are indications for low device specd, STRONG cannot guarantee proper functioning ofrecoding and or Timeshif functions with ll USB devices.

3.7 Connecting to a TV using modulator output

Fig.4 To view a TV channel on your TV (or a TV setin another room) altemativey you can use the UHF analogue modulator output TO TV) and connect it with a coaxial cable to the (other) TV set. You must letthe (other) TV set search or scan forthe RF signal out ofthe modulator.(Refer to the manual of your TVset) Defauft channel is 38, PAL-B6, but is adjustable in the System setup menu in the TV system. Choose a channel which is not occupied by TV transmittrs in your region to avoid interference. Please note, when other connection options are available on your TV set those are preferable.

4.0 STARTING UP FOR THE FIRST TIME

Hyouuse your receiver for the frs time, the Welcome “Easy install menu appears. Use À V to move the highlight to the setting you wish to alter and use 4 D to change values. Start by selecting your language using 4 D. Once you have selected your language, press V to move the highlight to the next item and use 4 D to change. Language Select your language. Region: Select our region where this recever is used. Video Resolution: Use this option to select the video resolution of your TV screen. Press OK to callalistwith all possible resolutions. The options are: By Source (automatic detection of video resolution offered to the receiver) By Native TV [automatic detection of maximal resolution of TV screen) and manual selections 480), 576lup to 1080p Please use a setting that matches your TV specfications. After a selection is made, you will be asked to confim. Aspect Mode: Use this option to select the aspect ratio of your TV and the preferred conversion method. Options are: Auto (automatic detection of aspect ratio), 43 Panscan (Displeys 169 widescreen broadcastsful screen on your 43 TV), 43 etterbox (black bars on top and under the picture on a 43 TV) and 169 {use this setting for 169 TV sets). 6 wwwsstrongtv

Once scanning is finished, the receiver switches to viewing mode. 5.0 QUICK GUIDE FOR USING YOUR RECEIVER

We at STRONG understand that you can wait to enjoy your new high definition digital terrestral receiver. The following quick guide wil make you familar with the basic operation ofthis device. We do, however, advice you to read the full manual to get the best performance from your receiver. To turn your receiver ON or to Standby, use the À button on the remote control Choose the desired channel withthe A. buttons. Alternative, you can digit the channel number with the 0-9 buttons on the remote control Or press OK in viewing mode to display the channel ist. The volume can be adjusted with the 4 D buttons.

6.1 Changing channels

Your ne receive is equipped with four ways to change channels. = Via direct access using the 0-9 buttons = Viathe channellisttrough OK button. = Viathe PG+ and PG- keys. = Viathe À V keys

6.1.1 Direct access via 0-9 buttons

To gain direct access to a certain channel, simply input is number with the 0-9 buttons onthe remote contral. Channel numbers can be up to four digits long. Entering a number with less than four digis is possible. Just wait a few seconds and your receiver will switch to the selected channel or press OK immediately after selecting the channel number. www.strongtv 7

6.1.3 Usingthe à v or PG+/PG-keys

6.3 Selection of audio language

Some channels support a choice of audio formats and/or languages. To select another audio stream, press AUDIO in viewing mode. A list with available au streams will nou be displayed. Your receiverincludes a fuly featured Teletext. To access Teletex, press the TX button in vieuing mode and use the 0-9 buttons te input the number ofthe page you wish to see, The coloured buttons ofthe remote control allow you to jump ta selected pages direct, as indicated on the bottom ofthe teletex screen. Use the À V buttons to select one page up or down, use 4 > buttons to select subpages. Press EXIT or TTX to get back to viewing mode. NOTE: Hcharacters are not displayed correct} then check Ifyour Teletext language is setta the correct language. See chapter 7.4.1

Some channels support a choice of subtil languages. Press SUB in viewing mode to display a lis of avaïlble subtil languages. Select your subie of choice with À W and press OK to confim. Press EXIT to leave without making changes.

Timeshifr allows you to pause ve broadcasts and resume playback later. Connect your USB storage device and make sure that Timeshift is set to ON in the menu DVR Settings. Press TIMESHIFT/ 8 wwwsstrongtv

6.7 EPG (Electronic Programme Guide)

The Electronic Programme Guide is a verÿ useful function that allows you to view event schedules and'information and to mark programmes for recording, To access the EPG, press the EPG button in viewing mode. Use À V toselect a channel and 4 D to select an event. Press OK to displey detailed information on the selected event. Use EXIT to quit the detalled information screen. Press RED to ‘gettothe Step Time function. Use 4 to select the desired step and OK to execute it. Press EXIT to quitthe Step Time function. Press GREEN t set a timer for selected event. Referto section 7.4.5 for detail en the timer function. NOTE: AAvailabilty of EPG data depends on broadcast.

6.8 Instant Recording

Your newrreceiver allows you te make an instant recording ofthe programme you are watching Simply press @ to start the recording. To enter the duration for the recording, press @ again. Use the 0-9 keys to input the desire recording time. During the star ofrecording a recording sign will be show on the upper right of your TV screen. To stop the recording, press BL. Select Ves and press OK again to stop the recording, NOTE: You can access the Record Manager direct via the button in viewing mode ta select a recording for playback

The main menu gives you access to settings, multimedia functions and in-built games. To access the main menu, press MENU in viewing mode. The main menu consists ofthe following sub menus: Media, di Channel Installation, System Setup and Took. Throughout the main menu, MENU or EXIT can be used to get backtothe previous screen.

DIGITAL TV DvR: RED: Press the “Red Rename button to open the rename window to rename a recording. GREEN Move the highlight to the programme that you want to lock When pressing the Green” Lock button, it will ask you to input password. The default password is "1234". Afer input of correct password, the programme is locked. Hfyou want to unlockthe programme, press the “Green” Lock button again. YELLOW: Move the highlight to the program me that you want to delete. When pressing the “Yellow” Delete button, will ask you to input password. The defaut password is "1234" After input of correct password, the programme is marked th a lock. Hyou want to unlockthe programme, press the “Yellow” Delete button again or press EXIT to delete the selected recording(s). EXT: Return, Stop, one step back or press OK to start play mode.

7.1.2 DVR Storage Information

‘This option shows relevant information about the connected USB storage device. Also you can format your USB storage device into FAT32. Select DVR Storage Information from the Media menu and press OK to enter. Now you will se all details as Free and used Recoding Sizes and used fle system. Press the YELLOW button Format menu to format the connected USB device. Please, enterthe PIN to access this menu and press OK to start formatting. Select Cancel or press EXIT to leave without formatting.

WARNING: Formatting will permanent delete ALL data stored on the connected device.

Please make a backup copy of all data you wish to keep before entering the Format menu. STRONG cannot be held responsible for loss of data from USB devices used with this receiver. NOTE: Ii possible to use already NTFS formatted USB disks. Press EXIT to leave.

‘The DVR Settings menu allows you to setup the Timeshif, Jump function for playbackand type recordings. Select DVR Settings from the Media menu and press OK to enter. Timeshif. On/Off Select On f you like to activate Timeshift by pressing the YELLOW button. Timeshift wil already start in the background direct}y after you tune into a channel. Select Offto disable Timeshif. The YELLOW button will now only freezethe TV screen. Jump: 305ec to 30 min. Set the time step you Ike to jump forward or backwards with he buttons or Kk during playback of recorded files, Timeshift to Record On/Off. Select On you ike to keep a copy ofthe last made Timeshif by pressing the @ button. Select Offto disable. PS Record On/Off Select On f you like to reduce recording data. 7.2.1 TV Channel List

In Edit Channel menu select T/Channelistwith A. W and press OK to enter. Use 4 t0 change the channel group {assumed you have already set up favourite groups). Selectthe channel of choice with À Press OK to view the selected channel in the preview box.

7.2.1.1 Adding channels to favourite lists

Channels from the TV Channel List can be added to up to 8 different favorite groups.Press FAV whilein TV ChannelListto access this function. The FAV sign on the top ofthe screen will move up toindicate thatthe favourie function is selected. Use À Y to select a channel you wish to add to à favourite group. When the highlights on the channel of your choice, press OK. A list with all available favourit lists will now pop up. Use AY to select the Favourite list you wish to add the channel to and press OK, press EXIT to finalze the process. Favourite channels will be marked with a heart symbol. When all changes have been made, press EXIT twice, À confirmation banner will pop up. Select Yes to save the changes or No to discard. Locking channels Locked channels can on be watched after enteringthe pin code (DEFAULT PIN: 1234) Toleckor unlock channel press RED win TV/ChamnelList The red Q sign onthe top ofthe screenwil ave upto Indice thatthe Lock functionis selected. Use A W 1 select a channel and pres OKto lock orunlocki. You are asked t input the pin code. (DEFAULT PIN: 1234) Locked channels will be marked with the @ symbol. 7.2.1.2 Skipping channels

Channels marked with Skpwil be skipped when zapping channels withthe À V buttons. The channels vil til be valable om the channels. To mark channels for skipping, press GREEN wi in TV Channel List The Skip symbol on the top of the screen will move up toindicate that the Skpfuncion is selected. Use À V t select a channel andpress OK to mark orunmarkit for shipping. Channels set for skpping il be marked th the 2 wwwsstrongtv

To enable the Move function press YELLOW wii in TV Channel List. The Move symbol on the top of the screen wil move up to indicate thatthe Move function is selected. You can nou move the selected channel up or dou the channel list using ZA V.When the channels on the postion of your choice, press OK again, The channels now fixed on is new position. When all changes have been made, press EXIT tuice. À confimation banner will pop up. Select Ves to save the changes or No to discard.

7.2.1.4 Editing channels

The Édit function allows ou to $or, Rename or Delte channel. To enter the Edit menu, press BLUE wlein T/Chamnel Lit The Edit Channel menu vil appear. Iyoumade changes in the previous menu, butnot saved them yet, you vil be askedto do 50 now Sort Press RED to enter the Sortmenu. Use A Y to select sorting method and press OK to confirm. Possible methods are: Name (A2 Sorting in alphabetical order from À to Z. Name (ZA; Sorting in alphabetical order from Z to A. Free/Scramble: Firstin the ist wall be Free-To-Airchannek. Lock Allunlocked channels will be placed first in the ist. Defautt Sorting by searched Order (from lowest to highest frequency or by LCN numbering). Rename Press GREEN in Edit Channel to enable the Rename function, The Rename sign will move up to indicate that Rename is selected. Use À W to highlight a channel and press OK to select. À text field wilnow pop up atthe right ofthe screen. Use € A Y to select characters and enter them with ‘OK When you have finished editing, press BLUE to enter the changes. Select Upgrade by USB from the Tools menu and press OK to proceed. ‘The upgrade menu wil now be displayed.
