1.1 Safety Instructions
DO NOT INSTALL YOUR RECEIVER: = In a losed or poorly ventilated cabinet; directly on top ofor under any other equipment; on a surface which might obstruct the ventilation slots. 1.5 Usage of external USB devices
1m lis recommended to use USB 2.0 storage devices. your device is not compatible to USB 2.0 specications, multimedia functions of the receiver might not work proper. = To ensure best performance of your USB storage device please format by this receiver (menu “Medios") to FAT32 system. Other fl systems are not supparted by the receiver. However it is possible to use already NTFS formatted disk. STRONG cannot guarantee compatiblity with all types of USE storage devices. lis aduised not to store important information on USB storage deuices used vith the receiver. 3.1 Connecting to a Terrestrial Antenna
To receive broadcast signal your trrestral indoor or outdoor antenna must be connected to the ANT IN connector on the back of the receiver. Use a propery shielded antenna cable and suitable connectors. The TO TV connector allous you to loop the antenna signal to a second receiver or TV set.
3.2 Connecting to TV with HDMI cable

3.3 Connecting to TV with SCART cable
SRT 8106 is also equipped with a SCART connectoraltemativel, he TV set can be connected to the receiver using a good quality SCART cable.
3.4 Connecting to TV with Cinch cable
TV sets without SCART or HDMI input{s) can be connected to the receiver using suitable cinch cables. Connect one end ofthe cable to the Audio L, R and VIDEO connectors on the back of SRT 8106. Connect the other end to the respective inputs on your TV set.
3.5 Connecting to a Digital Audio Amplifier with S/PDIF

3.6 Connecting to a Digital Audio Amplifier and TV
using HDMI Fes By connecting your recever to ie latest digital amplifers or home theatre systems with HDMI connections you il enjoy the best possible sound quality and mul-channel audio (depending on broadcast). Connect the HDMI output ofthereceiver to an input of your amplifier, and then connect the HDMI output oFthe amplifier to your TV set. Select the correct input on your amplifier to watch and listen to programmes.
3.7 Connecting a USB storage device
Fig.4 NOTE: Ve recommend the use of a hard disk drive USB 2.0 or higher for recording and play back OFTV events. For proper functioning of Time Shi and recording functions, a fast USB device [such as a hard disk drive) is needed. Interrupted playback or a distorted picture during playback or Time Shif are indications for a low device speed. STRONG cannot guarantee proper functioning of recoding and or Time Shi functions with all USB devices.
3.8 Connecting to a TV using modulator output
Fig. 6 To view a TV channel on your TV {or a TV setin another room), atermativel you can use the UHF analogue modulator output and connect it with a suitable coaxial cable to the (other) TV set. You must et the (other) TV set search or scan fr the RF signal out ofthe modulator (Refer to the manual of our TV set) Default channel is 38, PAL-BG, but is adjustable in the System setup menu in the TV system. Choose a channel which is not occupied by TV transmiters in your region to avoid iterference. Please note, if other connection options are available on your TV set these are preferable.
4.0 STARTING UP FOR THE FIRST TIME
IF jou use your eceiver for the first time, the Welcome “Easy install” menu appears. Use À W to move the highlight t the setting you wish to alter and use 4) to change values. Start by selecting your language using 4). Once you have selected your language, press W to move the highlight to the nest item and use 4 to change. Language Select your language. Region: Select your region where this receiver is used. Sub: Select Normal to display subtiles per default, Select Hard of Hearing to show HoH subtiles per default. Select Offto hide subtiles per defaut. Aspect Mode: Use this option to select the aspect ratio of your TV and the preferred conversion method. Options are: Auto (automatic detection of aspect ratio), 4:3 Panscan (Displays 169 widescreen broadcasts full screen on your 43 TV), 43 leterbox (black bars on top and under the picture on a 4:3 TV) and 169 {use this setting for 16,9 TV sets). 6 wwwsstrong:tv

The receiver will now advance to the Aerial Adjustment screen This part ofthe wizard is of great help when setting up your antenna system. Use A Y to move the highlight to the setting you wish to alter and use 4 to change values. The felloving settings are available: Antenna Power: Set to On if you use an active antenna. When set to On, 5 V will be present on he ANT IN connector ofthe receive. Select Offor passive antennas. Beeper Select On for an audible indication of signal reception. Offturms the beeper of. Channel No. Select a channel that is know to carry a broadast in your region. The Signal Strength and Signal Quality bars give a visual indication ofthe reception. AAdjust your antenna to obtain maximum signal strength and qualit. Once all settings are made, press OK to start scanning. The receiver will now search for all available channels. Once scanning is finished, the receiver svitches to viewing mode. La In case the Welcome “Easy install” menu does not appear afer suitching on he receiver the first time, reset the receiver to factory settings by pressing the MENU button and selecting Tools, then submenu Load Factory Setting. {Default PIN 0000)
5.0 QUICK GUIDE TO USING YOUR RECEIVER
Ve at STRONG understand that you can't wat to enjoy your new high definition digital terestial receiver The following quick guide wil make you familiar with the basic operation f this device. We do, however, advice you to read the full manual to get the best performance from your receiver To turn your receiver ON or to Standby, use the W button on the remote contel. Choose the desired channel with the À W buttons. Alternative you can igi the channel number with the 0-9 buttons on the remote control. Or press OK in vieuing mode to display the channel ist. The volume can be adjusted with the 4 buttons

6.1 Changing channels
‘To gain direct access to a certain channel, simply input its number with the 0-9 keys on the remote “control. Channel numbers can be up to four digits long. Entering a number with less than four digits is possible. Just wait a few seconds and your receiver wi switch to the selected channel or press OK immediately afler selecting the channel number
Press OK in viewing mode to display the Chanmel Lis. Use À W in the Channel List to highlight your “channel of choice and press OK once to select the highlighted channel. Press OK again to leave the Channel List. 6.3 Selection of audio language
Some channels support a choice of audio formats and/or languages. To select another audio stream, press AUDIO in viewing mode. À lis th available audio streams will now be displayed. Use À W to Select the desired stream and confirm with OK. The audio channel as stereo, mono, lef and right can be selected with the 4 buttons.
Your recever includes a ful featured Teletex To access Teleteu, press the TTX button in vieuing, mode and use the 0-9 buttons to input the number ofthe page jou wish to see. The coloured buttons ofthe remote control allow you t jump to selected pages direct as indicated om the bottom fthe teletext screen. Use the À W buttons to select one page up or down, use 4 buttons to select subpages. Press EXIT or TTX to get back to viewing mode.
Some channels support a choice of subtile languages. Press SUBTITLE in viewing mode t display à lis ofavalable subtil languages. Select your subtile ofchoice with À W and press OK to conf. Press EXIT t leave without making changes.
Time Shi allous you t pause Ie broadeasts and resurne playback later. Press TIMESHIFT in viewing mode to activate this mode. On screen wil appear a message Timeshjf On, live TV kecps playing. To pause press I button and press BLUE to resume Time shifled playback. Press 4 or Fast reind/Fastfonvards. Press RED to return to [ve TV. Press TIMESHIFT Lo ext Time Shi mode. NOTE: ‘Time Shif needs a connected USB storage device with sufficient free space and sufficient speed in order to work proper.
6.7 EPG (Electronic Programme Guide)
‘The Electronic Programme Guide is a very useful function that allows you to view event schedules and information and to mark programmes for recording, To access the EPG, press the EPG button in viewing mode. Use A V to select the desired channel and 4 to select the desired event. Press OK to display detailed information on the selected event. Use EXIT to quit the detailed information screen. Press RED to get to the Step Time function. Use 4 to select the desired step and OK to execute it. Press EXT to qui the Step Time function. Press GREEN to set a timer for a selected event Refer to section 7.34 for details on the timer function NOTE: AAvailability of EPG data depends on broadcast.
6.8 Instant Recording
Your new receive allows you to make an instant recording of the programme you are watching Simply press RECORD to star he recording, To enter the duration fr the recording, press RECORD again. Use the 0-9 keys to imput the desired recording time and press OK to confim. During the stat of a recording, a recording sign wi short be shou on the upper le of your TV screen. To stop the recording, press RED. Select Ys and press OK again to stop the recording
‘The main menu gives you access to settings, multimedia functions and buil in games. To access the main menu, press MENU in vieng mode. The main menu consists of the following sub menus: Edit Channel, Installation, System Setup, Tool, Game and Media+ ‘Throughout he main menu, MENU or EXIT can be used to get back to the previous screen

7.1.1 TV Channel List
In Edit Channel menu select TV Channel List with A V and press OK to enter. Use 4 10 change the channel group (assumed you have ready set up favourite groups) Select the desired channel with À W. Press OK to view the selected channel in he preview box.
7.1.2 Adding channels to favourite lists
Channels from the TV Channel List can be added to up to 8 different favourite groups. Press FAV while in TV Channel Lit to access this function. The FAV sign on the top ofthe screen vill move up Lo indicate that the Favourite function is selected. Use À Y to select a channel you wish to add to 2 favourite group. When the highlight is on the desired channel press OK. À list with all available Favourite lists will now pop up. Use A Y to select the favourie list you wish to add the channel to and press OK, press EXT to finalize the process. Favoured channels ll be marked vith a heart symbol. Once all changes are made, press EXIT tice. À confirmation banner will pop up. Select Yes to save he changes or No to discard.
7.13 Locking channels
Locked channel ean ny be watched ar enterig the pi code. (DEFAULT PIN: 0000) Fo lock orunlock a channel, press RED while in TV Channel Lis. The red Lock sign onthe top ofthe screen wi move up to indiate that the Lock function selected. Use AY to select the desired channel and press OK to lock or unlock it. You are asked to input the in code. (DEFAULT PIN: 0000) Locked channel ll be marked withthe & symbol. Lockimg/unlocking multiple channels in one session is possible. Once al changes are made, press EXT tice. À confirmation banner vil pop up. Select Yes to save the changes or No to discard, Locking/unlocking multiple channels in one session is possible.
7.14 Skipping channels
Channels marked with Si vil be skipped when zapping channels with the À V buttons. Despite that, these channels are sil avañable from the channel it. Fo mark channel for skpping, press GREEN vil in TV Channel Lis The Skjp symbol on the top of the screen wil move up o indicate that the Skip function is selected. Use À W to select the desired channel and press OK to mark or ummark for skipping, Channels se for skipping will be marked with the = symbol. Once all changes are made, press EXT tvice, À confrmaion bare vil pop up Select Yesto save the changes or No to discard
7.1.5 Moving channels
To enable the Mave function, press YELLOW ue in TY Channel Lis. The Move symbol on the top of the screen will move up to indicate that the Move function is selected. Use À W to select the desired channel and press OK to select. You can now move the selected channel up or dou he channel lis using À W. Once the channel is on the desired position, press OK again. The channel is nou fied on its new position. Once al changes are made, press EXT vice. À confirmation banner vil pop up. Select Yes to save the changes or No to discard.
7.16 Editing channels

Pessible methods are Name (AZ): Soring in alphabetcal order from A to Z. Name (ZA) Soring in alphabetcal order from Z to A. Free/Scramble: First in the list will be Free-To-Air channels. Lock All unlocked channels wi placed first in the list. Default: Sortng by searched Order [rom lave to highest frequency or by LEN numbering). Rename Press GREEN in Edit Channel to enable the Rename function. The Rename sign will move up to indicate that Rename is selected. Use A W to highlight the desired channel and press OK to select it. Atext field will now pop up atthe right ofthe screen. Use @ A W to select the desired characters and enter them with OK. Once you have finished editing, press BLUE to enter the changes. Once all changes are made, press EXIT twice. Select Ye to save the changes or No to discard. Delete Press BLUE in Edit Channel to enable the Delete function. The Delete sign will move up t indicate that Delee is selected. Use A W to highight the desired channel and press OK to mark it for deletion. Select es to delete the marked channels or No to cancel,
7.1.7 Radio Channel List
Basical, the operation ofthe Radio Channel List is the same as in the TV Channel List, The only difference is that in Radio Channel List there is no video information, so it will always display the radio logo atthe right preview screen.
Use this menu to delete all stored channels. Select Deete All with À W and press OK. The receiver asks you to enter the pin code. (Defaul pin:0000). In the confirmation window select Yes with > and press OK to delete or select No to cancel WARNING ‘The Delete al function will permanently delete al current channels and all Favourite lists from your receiver, and you are not able to leave the menu until you search for channels again.
Use A Y 10 select Installation and press OK or D to advance. Select Auto Scan with À W and press OK to enter. Use 4 10 toggl beteen FTA On Yes or Ne. When FTA Only is set to Yes, scrambled channels wont be stored in the channel st. Use À W to highlight Search. Use À Y 10 select Installation, press OK or D to advance. Use À Y 10 select Channel Scan and press OK 19 enter. Use 4 10 toggl betneen available scan modes: By Channel and By Frequency. 1FBy Channel is selected, use the eursor buttons to select Scan Band and Channel Ne. By Frequency is selected, use the cursor buttons to select Frequency and Bandvidth. Highlight Search and press OK Lo start scanning. Nes found channels wall be stored in the channel ist.
7.23 Aerial Adjustment
Use A Y to select installation, press OK or to advance. Use À Y to select Auril Adusment and press OK to enter. Use À Y move the highlight to the setting you wish to alter and use 4 to change values. The following setings are available Antenna Power. Set to On ifyou use an active antenna. When set to On, 5 V will be present on the ANT IN connector ofthe receiver. Select Of for passive antennas. Besper Select On for an audible indication of signal reception. Offturs the beeper of. Channel No. Select a channel that is known to carry a broadcast in your region. The Signal Strength and Signal Qualiy bars give a visual indication ofthe reception. AAdjust your antenna to obtain maximum signal strength and qualit} Press EXIT to leave the Aeral Adjustment screen.
7.2.4 LCN (Logical Channel Numbering)
1FLCN (Logical Channel Numbeing) is activated and an LCN signal is provided bythe operator, channels vil be storedin an operator defined order, St LCN to On to activate operator defined channel numbering or Ofto store channels in found order

Use this menu to match your receiver to your TV set. The following setings are available Video Resolution: Toggles betueen 576 up £o 10B@. Please use a seing that matches your ‘TV's specifications. Afler a selection is made, you wall be asked to confim. Note: Selection is only applicable on HDMI ‘Aspect Mode: Use this option to select he aspect ratio of jour TV and the preferred “conversion method. Options are: Auto (automatic detection of aspect ratio), 4:3 Panscan (Displays 16:9 widescreen broadcasts full screen on your 43 TV) 433 letterbox (black bars on top and under the picture on a 43 TV) and 16:9 {use this setting for 16:9 TV sets) Connection: Use this option to select the connection to your TV set, Select HDMI or TV SCART. RE System: When using the builtin RF modulator you can select here your TV sets analogue reception system. Default is PAL-BG, RF Channel Set the RF channel ofthe modulator. Default is channel 38. Digial Audio Output: | Toggles beteen PCM and Bistream output. When PCM is selected, all audio villbe converted to stereo audio. Bitstream enables multi-channel audio on the digital output.
7.3.3 Local Time Setting
Here you can set up your region and time zone. Region Use 4 to select he region you live in GMT Usage Set to On for broadcaster defined time or to Offto input time and date manualh. GMT offer: Allous you to adjust the time zone you le in. This option s only avalable when GMT Usage is setto On. The GMT Offéet range is ".11:30 — +12:00°, increasing by halfhours progressive}, The cities matching the set GMT Offet are displayed at the bottom ofthe screen, Summer Time: Select Offor On to add one hour extra for summer time during the summer. Date: Date and Time settings are available only when GMT Usage is set to Of. Use the 0-9 buttons to enter the date. This menu allows you to persomlize the names ofthe 8 available Favourite lists. Use A V 10 select Favourite from the System Setup Menu and press OK to prceed. The names ofal groups are now displayed. Select Remove USB device safly from the tools menu and press OK. The receiver will display a message indicating that you can safely remove your storage device from the receiver. NOTE: fer performing this function, the USB device is no longer accessible from your receiver. To gain access to your storage device again, re insert or switch the receiver to standby and on again.
