1.1 Safety Instructions

3.1 Connecting to a Terrestrial Antenna

To receive broadcast signal your trrestral indoor or outdoor antenna must be connected to the ANT IN connector on the back ofthe receiver. Use a proper} shielded antenna cable and suitable connectors. The TO TV connector allous you to loop the antenna signal to a second receiver or TV set.

3.2 Connecting to TV with HDMI cable

Fig.4 The TV set shall be connected with the receiver using a good quality HDMI 1.3 or higher cable. This connection gives the highest possible qualit}.

3.3 Connecting to TV with SCART cable

3.4 Connecting to TV with Cinch cable

TV sets without SCART or HDMI input(s) can be connected to the receiver using suitable cinch cables. Connect one end ofthe cable to the Audio L, R and VIDEO connectors on the back of SRT 8105 ECO. Connect he other end to the respective imputs on your TV set.

3.5 Connecting to a Digital Audio Amplifier with S/PDIF

Connect your Digital Audio Ampliier or home theatre system with a suitable cinch cable to the S/PDIF connector on the back oftne receive.

3.6 Connecting to a Digital Audio Amplifier and TV using

By connecting your receiver to the latest digital amplifers or home theatre systems with HDMI connections, you will enjoy the best possible sound qualit and mult.channel audio (depending on broadcast). Connect the HDMI output of the receiver to an input of your amplifier, and then connect the HDMI output oFthe amplifier to your TV set. 3.7 Connecting a USB storage device

NOTE: Ve recommend the use of a hard disk drive USB 2.0 or higher for recording and play back OFTV events. For proper functioning of Time Shi and recording functions, a fast USB device [such as a hard disk drive) is needed. Interrupted playback or a distorted picture during playback or Time Shif are indications for a low device speed. STRONG cannot guarantee proper functioning of recoding and or Time Shi functions with all USB devices.

4.0 STARTING UP FOR THE FIRST TIME

IF jou use your eceiver for the first time, the Welcome “Easy install” menu appears. Use AV to move the highlight to the setting you wish to alter and use 4} to change values. Start by selecting your language using 4/3. Once you have selected your language, press W to move to the highlight next item and use 4/} to change. Language Select your language. Region: Select your region where this receiver is used. Sub: Select Normal to display subtiles per default, Select Hard of Hearing to show HoH subtiles per default. Select Offto hide subtiles per defaut. Aspect Mode: Use this option to select the aspect ratio of your TV and the preferred conversion method. Options are: Auto [automatic detection of aspect ratio), 43 Panscan (Displays 16 widescreen broadcasts full screen on your 43 TV), 43 lterbox (black bars on top and under the picture on a 4:3 TV) and 169 {use this seting for 169 TV sets). Scan mode: Select Alto store scrambled and free to air channel or select Fe to store oniy free to air channels. Note: Scrambled channels you cannot watch th this receiver. Connection: Use this option to select the connection to your TV set. Select HDMI or SCART. jou are using a cinch able then this selection s not important. Once all settings are made, move the highlight to OK and press OK to continue. The receiverwil now advance to the Ai Agjustment screen This par ofthe wizard is of great help en setting up your antenna system. Use A/Y to move the highlight to the setting you wish to alter and use {D to change values. The following settings are available Antenna Power. Set to On if you use an active antenma. When set to On, 5 V will be present on he ANT IN connector oFthe receive. Select Offor passive antennas. Besper Select On for an audible indication of signal reception. Offturns the becper of. Channel No. Select a channel that is know to carry a broadast in your region. The Signal Strength and Signal Quality bars give a visual indication ofthe reception. AAdjust your antenna to obtain maximum signal strength and quality. Once all settings are made, press OK to start scanning. The receiver will now search for all available channels. 5.0 QUICK GUIDE TO USING YOUR RECEIVER

Ve at STRONG understand that ou can't wait to enjoy your new high definition digital terestral receiver. The following quick guide will make you familiar with the basic operation of this device. We do, however, advice you to read the full manual to get the best performance fiom your receive. To tu your receiver ON or to Standby, use the À button on the remote control Choose the desired channel with the À /W buttons. Alternativel, you can digit the channel number with the 0-9 buttons on the remote control. Or press OK in viewing mode to display the channel ist The volume can be adjusted with the 4/3 buttons.

Your new recever is equipped with several features to make watching TV a true pleasure. This paragraph describes these features. Please also read chapter 7.0 to get familiar with the menu of your recever

6.1 Changing channels

To gain direct access to a certain channel, simply imput its number with the 0-9 keys on the remote control. Channel numbers can be up to four digis long. Entering a number with less than four digits is possible. Just wait a few seconds and your receiver will switch o the selected channel or press OK immediately aer selecting the channel number.

Press OK in viewing mode to display the Channel Lit. Use AW in the Channel List to highlight your channel of choice and press OK once to select the highlighted channel. Press OK again to leave the Channel List TP: Use 4) 10 toggle betveenthe AÏ Channel ist and Favourite lists or press FAV for a list of available Favourite ist.

6.1.3 Using the A/v or PG+Pc- keys

6.3 Selection of audio language

Some channels support a choice of audio formats and/or languages. To select another audio stream, press AUDIO in viewing mode. À lis th available audio streams will now be displayed. Use AV to Select the desired stream and confirm with OK. The audio channel as stereo, mono, lef and right can be selected with the 4/2 buttons.

Your recever includes a ful featured Teletex To access Teleteu, press the TTX button in vieuing, mode and use the 0-9 buttons to input the number ofthe page jou wish to see. The coloured buttons ofthe remote control allow you t jump to selected pages direct as indicated om the bottom fthe teleten screen, Use the AV buttons to select one page up or down, use AJ} buttons to select subpages. Press EXIT or TTX to get back to vieuing mode.

Some channels support a choice of subtile languages. Press SUBTITLE in viewing mode t display à lis of avalable subtil languages. Select your subtil ofchoice with A/W and press OK to conf. Press EXIT t leave without making changes.

Time Shi allous you t pause Ie broadeasts and resurne playback later. Press TIMESHIFT in viewing mode to activate this mode. On screen wil appear a message Timeshjf On, live TV keeps playing. To pause press I button and press D to resume Time shified playback. Press 4/9 for Fast rewind/Fastfonards. Press to return Lo ve TV. Press TIMESHIFT to ext Time Shi mode. NOTE: Time Shif needs a connected USB storage device with sufficient free space and sufficient speed in order to work proper.

6.7 EPG (Electronic Programme Guide)

‘The Electronic Programme Guide is a very useful function that allows you to view event schedules and information and to mark programmes for recording, To access the EPG, press the EPG button in viewing mode. Use A/Y to select the desired channel and 4/D to select the desired event. Press OKto display detailed information on the selected event. Use EXIT to qui the detailed information screen. Press RED to get to the Step Time function. Use 4} to select the desired step and OK to execute it. Press EXT to qui the Step Time function. Press GREEN to set a timer fo a selected event Refer to section 7.34 for details on the timer function. NOTE: Availability oFEPG data depends on broadcast Ü wstrongiv

6.8 Instant Recording

Your new receive allows you to make an instant recording of the programme you are watching. Simphy press @ to star the recording. To enter the duration for the recording press @ again. Use the 0-9 keys to imput the desired recording time. During the recording a recording sign wil be show on the upper right of your TV screen. To stop the recording, press ML. Select Yes and press OK again to stop the recording. *Please connect an USB storage device with suficient fee space before you start a recording

‘The main menu gives you access to settings, multimedia functions and buil in games. To access the main menu, press MENU in vieng mode. The main menu consists of the following sub menus: Edit Channel, Installation, System Setup, Tool, Game and Media+ ‘Throughout he main menu, MENU or EXIT can be used to get back to the previous screen

Use A to select Ed Channel and press OK or D to enter. Use AY to highlight the desired sub menu and press OK to select Press EXIT or 4 to get backto the main menu.

7.1.1 TV Channel List

In Edit Channel menu select TV Channel List with A /W and press OK to enter. Use 4/3 to change the channel group [assumed you have already set up favourite groups) Select the desired channel with À W. Press OK to view the selected channel in the preview box.

7.1.1.1 Adding channels to favourite lists

Channels from the TV Channel List can be added to up to 8 different favourite groups. Press FAV while in TV Channel Lit to access this function. The FAV sign on the top ofthe screen ill move up 0 indicate that the Favourite function is selected. Use A/Y to select a channel you wish to add to 2 favourite group. When the highlight is on the desired channel press OK. À list with all available favourte lists will now pop up. Use AJ to select the favourite ist you wish to add the channel 10 and press OK, press EXIT t finalize the process. Favoured channels will be marked with a heart symbol. Once all changes are made, press EXIT tice. À confirmation banner wi pop up. Select es 0 save the changes or No to discard.

Locked channels can onl be watched afer entering ie pin code. (DEFAULT PIN: 0000) Te lock or unlock a channel press RED while in TV Channel Lit. The red Lock sign on the top ofthe screen vil move up to indicate that the Lock function is selected. Use AW to select the desred channel and press OK to lock or unlock. You are asked to imput the pin code. (DEFAULT PIN: 0000) Locked channel will be marked with the à symbol. Locking/unlocking multiple channels in one session is possible. Once al changes are made, press EXIT uice. À confirmation banner will pop up. Channels marked with Skp will be skipped when zapping channels with the AY buttons. Despite that, these channels are st available om the channel is. To mark channels for skipping, press GREEN wéile in TV Channel List. The Skip symbol on the top of the screen will move up to indicate that the Skip function is selected. Use AW to select the desred channel and press OK to mark or unmark it for skipping. Channels set fr skipping will be marked with the symbol Once aÏ changes are made, press EXIT vice. To enable the Move function, press YELLOW ile in TV Channel Lis. You can now move the selected channel up or dou the channel lis using AY. Once the channel is on the desired position, press OK again. The channel is now fied on is new position. Default Soring by searched Order (rom lowest to highest frequency or by LCN numbering). Rename Press GREEN in Ed Channel o enable the Rename function. The Renamne sign ll move up to indicate that Rename is selected. Use A W to highlight the desired channel and press OK to select. A txt field will mew pop up at the right oftne screen. Use 4/D AJ V to select the desired characters and enter them with OK. Once you have fiished edting, press BLUE to enter the changes. Once al changes are made, press EXIT vice. Select es to save the changes or No to discard Delete Press BLUE in Edit Channel to enable the Delete function. The Delete sign will move up t indicate that Delee is selected. Use AJ to highlight the desired channel and press OK to mark it for deletion. ‘The receiver asks you 10 enter the pin code. Once you have marked all channels you wish to delete, press EXIT tvice. 7.1.2 Radio Channel List

Basical, the operation ofthe Radio Channel List is the same as in the TV Channel List, The only difference is that in Radio Channel List there is no video information, so it will always display the radio logo atthe right preview screen.

Use this menu to delete all stored channels. Select Delete Al with A JW and press OK. The receiver asks you to enter the pin code. (Defaul pin 20000). In the confirmation vindow select Yes with 4/2 and press OK to delete or select No to cancel

WARNING: ‘The Delete al function will permanently delete al current channels and all

favourte lists from your receiver, and you are not able to leave the menu until you search for channels again.

Use AJ to select Installation and press OK or D 10 advance. Select Auto Scan with AY and press OK to enter. Use 4/3 to toggle betueen FTA Only Yes or No. When FTA Onfyis set to Yes, scrambled channels won't be stored in the channel list. Use À/Y to highlight Search. Now press OK to star auto scan. ‘The receiver il store al newly found channels in the channel list.

Use AJ to select Installation, press OK or Be to advance. Use AY to select Channel Scan and press OK 10 enter. Use 4/3 to toggle betueen available scan modes: By Channel and 8y Frequency. IF By Channel is selected, use the cursor buttons to select Scan Band and Channel No. By Frequency is selected, use the cursor buttons to select Frequency and Bandvidth. Highlight Search and press OK Lo start scanning, Newiy found channels ll be stored in the channel list.

7.23 Aerial Adjustment

Use A/Y to select instalation press OK or D to advance Use A/Y to select Auril Afjusiment and press OK to enter Use A/Y move the highlight to the setting you wish to alter and use D to change values.
